#2.39 A DIAGRAM OF THE DEATH BURIAL AND RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST

This is a printable diagram of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and his first appearances to his disciples, including scripture references timing the events. The conclusion is that he was crucified about 9 a.m. or just before, on 14th Nisan which was a Wednesday morning. He died about 3 p.m. or just after the same day and was buried just before sunset. The 15th Nisan was a special Sabbath for the first day of the feast of unleavened bread, which was from sunset on Wednesday to sunset on Thursday, and the disciples rested on that day. To fulfill all the scriptures Jesus had to be buried for at least three days and three nights (See diagram), and also rise on the third day of the feast. Therefore Jesus had to rise late on Saturday afternoon, which was the Sabbath day. He then appeared to his disciples several times on the first day of the week which was Sunday, after sunrise.
