| #2.2 Analysis of pneuma (Gtr. pneuma) for Spirit |
This bible study includes every verse that contains a translation of the Greek word pneuma (Gtr. pneuma) which means spirit in the New Testament. To obtain a true understanding of this word these scriptures need to be meditated on and notes made of their meaning in different contexts. This requires putting scriptures together where they seem to have a similar meaning, and then meditating even more. The truth will be revealed by the Holy Spirit, who has been given to guide us into all truth (John 16:13). Wherever this word pneuma appears in the Greek, the translation of it is highlighted with bold type and underline. In Greek , with the exception of case endings, the suffixes and prepositions are not added to the basic word as in Hebrew, so these have not been included in highlighted text. Every blessing be to those who seek the truth of God's word.

of God is come to you.

forgiven to men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit

him, neither in this world, nor in the world to come.
43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walks through
dry places, seeking rest, and finds none.

generation.

Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceeds from the Father,
he shall testify of me:
16:13 However when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide
you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatever he shall
hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.

them, Receive you the Holy Spirit:
Acts 1:2 Until the day in which he was taken
up, after that he, through the Holy Spirit, had given commandments to the apostles whom he had chosen:
5 For John truly baptised with water; but you shall be baptised with the Holy
Spirit not many days from now.
8 But you shall receive power, after that the Holy Spirit is come upon
you: and you shall be witnesses for me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and to the utmost part of the earth.
16 Men, brothers, it was necessary for this scripture to have been
fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit by the mouth of David spoke before concerning Judas, who was a guide to those who took Jesus.
2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to
speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, I will pour out
of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall

of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon Jesus, and saying, Lord
Jesus, receive my spirit.

that were possessed with them : and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.

17 Then they laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money,
19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Spirit.

9:17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting
his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared
to you in the way as you came, has sent me, that you might receive your sight, and be filled with the Holy Spirit.
31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and
Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the
comfort of the Holy Spirit, were multiplied.
10:19 While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said to him, Behold, three men seek you.

44 While Peter yet spoke these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all those who heard the word.
45 And they of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of
the Holy Spirit.
46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptised, who have
received the Holy Spirit as well as we?
Acts 11:12 And the Spirit bade me go with them, nothing doubting.
Furthermore these six brothers accompanied me, and we entered into the man’s house:
15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them, as on us at the beginning.
16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed
baptised with water; but you shall be baptised with the Holy Spirit.
24 For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Spirit and of
faith: and many people was added to the Lord.
28 And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit
that there should be great famine throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.
13:2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Spirit
said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.

from there they sailed to Cyprus.
9 Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Spirit, set his eyes on him,
52 And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Spirit.
15:8 And God, who knows the hearts, bore them witness, giving them the
Holy Spirit, even as he did to us;
28 For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;
16:6 Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia,
and were forbidden of the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia,
7 After they came to Mysia, they attempted to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit did not permit them.
16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain maidservant
possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:
18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said
to the spirit, I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.
Acts 17:16 Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was
stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.
18:5 And when Silas and Timothy came from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in
the spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus was Christ.
25 This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in
the spirit, he spoke and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.
19:2 He said to them, Have you received the Holy Spirit since you
believed? And they said to him, We have not so much as heard whether there is any Holy Spirit.
6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came
on them; and they spoke with tongues, and prophesied.
12 So that from his body were brought to the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the
evil spirits went out of them.
13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call
over those who had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preaches.
14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, who did so.
15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?
16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and
overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
21 After these things were ended, Paul purposed in the spirit,
when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I must also see Rome.
20:22 And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:
23 Save that the Holy Spirit witnesses in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.
28 Take heed therefore to yourselves, and to all the flock, over which
the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he has purchased with his own blood.
21:4 And finding disciples, we stayed there seven days: who said to Paul
through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.
11 And when he came to us, he took Paul’s girdle, and bound his own hands
and feet, and said, Thus says the Holy Spirit, So shall the Jews at
Jerusalem bind the man who owns this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.
23:8 For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, nor angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both.

spirit or an angel has spoken to him, let us not fight against God.
28:25 And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after
that Paul had spoken one word, Well spoke the Holy Spirit by Esaias the
prophet to our fathers,
Romans 1:4 And declared to be the Son
of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
9 For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his
Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;
2:29 But he is a Jew, who is one inwardly; and circumcision is
that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose
praise is not of men, but of God.
5:5 And hope makes not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in
our hearts by the Holy Spirit which is given to us.
7:6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead in which we
were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in
Christ Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God
sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
5 For those who are according to the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but those
who are according to the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded
(Lit. The mind of the spirit) is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.
8 So then those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the
Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if any man does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not his.
Romans 8:10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because
of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11 But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead
dwell in you, he who raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your
mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwells in you.
12 Therefore, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.
13 For if you live according to the flesh, you shall die: but if you through the
Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, you shall live.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 For you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear;
but you have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit, that we
are the children of God:
23 And not only they, but ourselves also, who have the first-fruits
of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the
adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
26 Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities: for we do not
know what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself makes
intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered.
27 And he who searches the hearts knows what is the mind of the
Spirit, because he makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
9:1 I say the truth in Christ, I do not lie, my conscience also bearing
me witness in the Holy Spirit,
11:8 (According as it is written, God has given them the spirit of
slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) to this day.
12:11 Not lazy in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
14:17 For the kingdom of God is not food and drink; but righteousness,
and peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing,
that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit.
16 That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles,
ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be
acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Spirit.
19 Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of
God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about to Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.
15:30 Now I entreat you, brothers, for the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and
for the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;
1 Corinthians 2:4 And my speech and my
preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in
demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
10 But God has revealed them to us by his Spirit: for the
Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knows the things of a man, except the spirit of
man which is in him? even so no one knows the things of God, except the Spirit of God.
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the
spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom
teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit
of God: for they are foolishness to him: nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
3:16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God, and that the
Spirit of God dwells in you?
4:21 What do you want? shall I come to you with a rod, or in love, and
in the spirit of meekness?
5:3 For I indeed, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have
judged already, as though I were present, concerning him who has so done this deed,
4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when you are gathered together, and my
spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
5 To deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the
spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
6:11 And such were some of you: but you are washed, but you are
sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit.
19 What? do you do not know that your body is the temple of the Holy
Spirit which is in you, which you have of God, and you are not your own?
20 For you are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body,
and in your spirit, which are God’s.
34 There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The
unmarried woman cares for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in
body and in spirit: but she who is married cares for the things of the
world, how she may please her husband.
40 But she is happier if she so abide, after my judgement: and I think
also that I have the Spirit of God.
1 Corinthians 12:3 Therefore I give you to understand, that
no man speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed: and that
no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Spirit.
4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the
word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by
the same Spirit;
12:10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to
another discerning of spirits; to another various kinds of
tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
11 But all these works that one and the very same Spirit, dividing
to every man severally as he will.
12 For as the body is one, and has many members, and all the members of
that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
13 For by one Spirit are we all baptised into one body, whether
we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all
made to drink into one Spirit.
14:2 For he who speaks in an unknown tongue speaks not to men, but
to God: for no man understands him ; however in the spirit he speaks mysteries.
12 Even so you, forasmuch as you are zealous of spiritual gifts,
seek that you may excel to the edifying of the church.
13 Therefore let him who speaks in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.
14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prays,
but my understanding is unfruitful.
15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray
with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing
with the understanding also.
16 Else when you shall bless with the spirit, how shall he who
occupies the room of the unlearned say Amen at your giving of thanks, seeing he
does not understand what you say?
32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul;
the last Adam was made a life-giving spirit.
16:18 For they have refreshed my spirit and yours: therefore
acknowledge you those who are such.
2 Corinthians 1:22 Who has also sealed us,
and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
2:13 I had no rest in my spirit, because I did not find Titus my
brother: but taking my leave of them, I went from there into Macedonia.
3:3 Forasmuch as you are manifestly declared to be the epistle of
Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the
living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.
6 Who also has made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter,
but of the spirit: for the letter kills, but the spirit gives life.
8 How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?
17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the
Lord is, there is liberty.
18 But we all, with open face looking as in a glass the glory of the
Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by theSpirit of the Lord.
4:13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is
written, I believed, and therefore I have spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
5:5 Now he who has worked on us for the very same thing is God,
who also has given to us the earnest of the Spirit.
6:6 By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy
Spirit, by love unfeigned,
7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse
ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
13 Therefore we were comforted in your comfort: yes, and we rejoiced more
abundantly for the joy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all.
11:4 For if he who comes preaches another Jesus, whom we have not
preached, or if you receive another spirit, which you have not
received, or another gospel, which you have not accepted, you might well bear with him.
12:18 I desired Titus, and with him I sent a brother. Did Titus
make a gain of you? walked we not in the same spirit? walked we not in the same steps?
13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and
the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen
Galatians 3:2 This only would I learn of
you, Received you the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
3 Are you so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are you now made perfect by the flesh?
4 Have you suffered so many things in vain? if it is yet in vain.
5 He therefore who ministers to you the Spirit, and works miracles among
you, does he do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus
Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
4:6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of his
Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
29 But as then he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was
born according to the Spirit, even so it is now.
5:5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit
against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that you cannot do the things that you would.
18 But if you are led of the Spirit, you are not under the law.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
6:1 Brethren, if a man is overtaken in a fault, you who are spiritual,
restore such a one in the spirit of meekness; considering yourself, lest you also are tempted.
8 For he who sows to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he who
sows to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
18 Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
Ephesians 1:13 In whom you also trusted,
after that you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom
also after that you believed, you were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give
to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
2:2 Wherein in time past you walked according to the course of this
world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience:
18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.
22 In whom you also are built together for a habitation of God through the Spirit.
3:5 Which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it is
now revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;
16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be
strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as you are called in one hope of your calling;
23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby you are sealed for the day of redemption.
5:9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit,
and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Philippians 1:19 For I know that this shall
turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of
Jesus Christ,
27 Only conduct yourselves worthily of the gospel of Christ: that whether
I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you
stand fast in one spirit, with one soul striving together for the faith of the gospel;
2:1 If there is therefore any consolation in Christ, if any
comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,
3:3 For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the spirit,
and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.
Colossians 1:8 o also declared to us your love in the Spirit.
2:5 For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the
spirit, joying and seeing your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.
1 Thessalonians 1:5 For our gospel did not
come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and
in much assurance; as you know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
6 And you became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in
much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit:
4:8 He therefore that despises, despises not man, but God, who has also
given to us his holy Spirit.
5:19 Quench not the Spirit.
23 And may the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly; and may
your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Thessalonians 2:2 That you are not soon
shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by
letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is near.
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the
spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
13 But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brothers
beloved of the Lord, because God has from the beginning chosen you to salvation
through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great
is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the
Spirit, seen of angels, preached to the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
4:1 Now the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some
shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of demons;
12 Let no man despise your youth; but you be an example of the believers,
in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us the
spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
14 That good thing which was committed to you keep by the Holy Spirit which dwells in us.
4:22 The Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.
Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit;
Philemon 1:25 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
Hebrews 1:7 And of the angels he says, Who makes his angels spirits,
and his ministers a flame of fire.
14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for those who shall be heirs of salvation?
2:4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders,
and with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will?
3:7 Therefore (as the Holy Spirit says, To day if you will hear his voice,
4:12 For the word of God is living, and powerful, and sharper than
any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of both soul and spirit,
and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and
have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit,
9:8 The Holy Spirit this signifying, that the way into the holiest
of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal
Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
10:15 Of which the Holy Spirit also is a witness to us: for
after that he had said before,
29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose you, shall he be thought worthy,
who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the
covenant, with which he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and has done despite to
the Spirit of grace?
12:9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us,
and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection to
the Father of spirits, and live?
23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, who are written
in heaven, and to God the judge of all, and to the spirits of righteous men made perfect,
James 2:26 For as the body without the
spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
4:5 Do you think that the scripture says in vain, The spirit that dwells in us lusts to envy?
1 Peter 1:2 Chosen according to the
foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit,
into obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you, and peace, be multiplied.
11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ
which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.
12 To whom it was revealed, that not to themselves, but to us they did
minister the things, which are now reported to you by those who have preached
the gospel to you with the Holy Spirit sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.
22 Having purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit
into genuine love of the brothers, see that you love one another with a pure heart fervently:
3:4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is
not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit,
which is in the sight of God of great price.
18 For Christ also has once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust,
that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
19 By which also he went and preached to the spirits in prison;
4:6 For this cause was the gospel preached also to those who are
dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.
14 If you are reproached for the name of Christ, happy are you ;
for the spirit of glory and of God rests upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.
2 Peter 1:21 For the prophecy did not come in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
1 John 3:24 And he who keeps his commandments dwells in him, and he in
him. And hereby we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit which he has given us.
4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits
whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Hereby do you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that
confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3 And every spirit that does not confesses that Jesus Christ is come in
the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, of
which you have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
6 We are of God: he who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear
us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he has
given us of his Spirit.
5:6 This is he who came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not
by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that bears
witness, because the Spirit is truth.
7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the
Holy Spirit: and these three are one.
8 And there are three who bear witness on earth, the Spirit, and the
water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
Jude 1:19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
20 But you, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith,
praying in the Holy Spirit,
Revelation 1:4 John to the seven churches
which are in Asia: Grace be to you, and peace, from him who is, and who
was, and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits who are before his throne;
10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
2:7 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the
churches; To him who overcomes will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
11 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the
churches; He who overcomes shall not be hurt of the second death.
17 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the
churches; To him who overcomes will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will
give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knows except he who receives it.
29 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
3:1 And to the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things says he
who has the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know your works,
that you have a name that you live, and are dead.
6 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
13 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
4:2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was
set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.
5 And out of the throne proceeded lightning and thundering and voices: and
there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.
Revelation 5:6 And I saw, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four
beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain,
having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
11:11 And after three days and a half the Spirit of life from God
entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon those who saw them.
13:15 And he had power to give life to the image of the beast, that the
image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, Write, Blessed are
the dead who die in the Lord from now on: Yes, says the Spirit, that they
may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.
16:13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out
of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
14 For they are the spirits of demons, working miracles, who
go forth to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
17:3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and
I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great
is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of demons, and the hold of
every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said to me, See
you do it not: I am your fellow-servant, and of your brothers who have the
testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
21:10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high
mountain, and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him who
hears say, Come. And let him who is thirsty come. And whoever will, let him take
the water of life freely.
