This bible study includes every verse that contains a translation of the Hebrew word רוּח (Htr. ruach) which means Spirit in the Old Testament. To obtain a true understanding of this word these scriptures need to be meditated on and notes made of their meaning in different contexts. This requires putting scriptures together where they seem to have a similar meaning, and then meditating even more. The truth will be revealed by the Holy Spirit, who has been given to guide us into all truth (John 16:13). Wherever this word ruach appears in the Hebrew, the translation of it is highlighted with bold type and underline. In Hebrew the suffixes and some prepositions are added to the basic word to enhance the meaning, and where this has been done the meaning of the suffix or preposition has been included in highlighted text. Every blessing be to those who seek the truth of God's word.

27:16 Whoever hides her hides the wind,
and the ointment of his right hand, which betrays itself.
29:11 A fool utters all his mind: but
a wise man keeps it in till afterwards.
23 A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour
shall uphold the humble in spirit.
30:4 Who has ascended up into heaven, or
descended? who has gathered the wind in his fists? who
has bound the
waters in a garment? who has established all the ends of the earth? what is
his name, and what is his son’s name, if you can tell?
Ecclesiastes 1:6 The wind
goes toward the south, and
turns about to the north; it whirls about continually, and the wind
returns again according to his circuits.
14 I have seen all the works that are done under
the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit.
17 And I gave my heart to know wisdom, and to know
madness and folly: I perceived that this also is vexation of spirit.
2:11 Then I looked on all the works that my
hands had done, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all
was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit
under the sun.
17 Therefore I hated life; because the work that is
done under the sun is grievous to me: for all is vanity and
vexation of spirit.
26 For God gives to a man that is
good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he gives
travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him who is good
before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit.
3:19 For that which befalls the sons of men
befalls beasts; even one thing befalls them: as the one dies, so the
other dies; yes, they all have one breath; so that a man
has no pre-eminence
above a beast: for all is vanity.
20 All go to one place; all are of the dust, and
all turn to dust again.
21 Who knows the spirit of man that
goes
upward, and the spirit of the beast that goes downward to the earth?
Ecclesiastes 4:4 Again, I considered all travail, and every
right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbour. This is also
vanity and vexation of spirit.
6 Better is an handful with
quietness, than both the hands full with travail and vexation of
spirit.
16 There is no end of all the people,
even of all that have been before them: they also that come after shall not
rejoice in him. Surely this also is vanity and vexation of spirit.
5:16 (15) And this also is a sore evil,
that in all points as he came, so shall he go: and what profit has he
who has laboured for the wind?
6:9 Better is the sight of the eyes than
the wandering of the desire: this is also vanity and vexation of
spirit.
7:8 Better is the end of a thing than the beginning of
it: and the patient in spirit is better
than the proud in spirit.
9 Do not be hasty in your spirit to be angry:
for anger rests in the bosom of fools.
8:8 There is no man that has power over
the spirit to retain the spirit; neither
has he power in
the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither
shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it.
10:4 If the spirit of the ruler rise up
against you, do not leave your place; for yielding pacifies great offences.
11:4 He who observes the wind shall
not sow; and he who regards the clouds shall not reap.
5 As you do not know what is the way of
the spirit, nor how the bones grow in the womb of
her who is with child: even so you do not know the works of God who makes all.
12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as
it was: and the spirit shall return to God who gave it.
Isaiah 4:4 When the Lord shall have washed away the
filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem
from its midst by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit
of burning.
7:2 And it was told the house of David, saying,
Syria is confederate with Ephraim. And his heart was moved, and the heart of his
people, as the trees of the wood are moved with the wind.
11:2 And the spirit of the LORD shall
rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit
of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the
LORD;
4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor,
and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth
with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay
the wicked.
15 And the LORD shall utterly destroy the tongue of
the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind shall he shake his hand
over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make men go
over dry shod.
17:13 The nations shall rush like the rushing
of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off,
and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and
like a rolling thing before the whirlwind.
19:3 And the spirit of Egypt shall fail
in its midst; and I will destroy its counsel: and they shall
seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to those who have familiar spirits,
and to the wizards.
14 The LORD has mingled a perverse spirit
in its midst: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work of it,
as a drunken man staggers in his vomit.
25:4 For you have been a strength to the poor,
a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from
the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm
against the wall.
26:9 With my soul have I desired you in the
night; yes, with my spirit within me will I seek you early: for when your
judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn
righteousness.
18 We have been with child, we have been in pain,
we have as it were brought forth wind; we have not worked any
deliverance in the earth; neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen.
Isaiah 27:8 In measure, when it shoots forth, you will debate with it: he
stays his rough wind in the day of the
east wind.
28:6 And for a spirit of judgment
to him who sits in judgment, and for strength to those who turn the battle to the
gate.
29:10 For the LORD has poured out upon you
the spirit of deep sleep, and has closed your eyes: the prophets and your
rulers, the seers has he covered.
24 They also who erred in spirit shall come
to understanding, and those who murmured shall learn doctrine.
30:1 Woe to the rebellious children, says the
LORD, who take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not
of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:
28 And his breath, as an overflowing stream,
shall reach to the midst of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of
vanity: and there shall be a bridle in the jaws of the people, causing
them to err.
31:3 Now the Egyptians are men, and not
God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch
out his hand, both he who helps shall fall, and he who is helped shall fall
down, and they all shall fail together.
32:2 And a man shall be as an hiding place from
the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry
place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.
15 Until the spirit be poured upon us from
on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be
counted for a forest.
33:11 You shall conceive chaff, you shall bring
forth stubble: your breath, as fire, shall devour you.
34:16 Seek out of the book of the LORD, and
read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it has
commanded, and his spirit it has gathered them.
37:7 Behold, I will send a blast upon
him, and he shall hear a rumour, and return to his own land; and I will cause
him to fall by the sword in his own land.
38:16 O Lord, by these things men live,
and in all these things is the life of my spirit:
so will you revive me, and make me to live.
40:7 The grass withers, the flower fades:
because the spirit of the LORD blows upon it: surely the people
are
grass.
41:16 You shall fan them, and the wind
shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and you shall
rejoice in the LORD, and shall glory in the Holy One of Israel.
29 Behold, they are all vanity; their works
are nothing: their melted images are wind and confusion.
42:1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; my
elect, in whom my soul delights; I have put my spirit upon him:
he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.
5 Thus says God the LORD, he who created the
heavens, and stretched them out; he who spread forth the earth, and that which
comes out of it; he who gives breath to the people upon it, and spirit
to those who walk in it:
Isaiah 44:3 For I will pour water upon him who is
thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon your
seed, and my blessing upon your offspring:
48:16 Come near to me, hear this; I
have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there
am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit,
has sent me.
54:6 For the LORD has called you as a woman
forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when
you were
refused, says your God.
57:13 When you cry, let your companies
deliver you; but the wind shall carry them all away; vanity shall take
them: but he who puts his trust in me shall possess the land, and
shall inherit my holy mountain;
15 For thus says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy
place, with him also who is of a contrite and humble spirit,
to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the
contrite ones.
16 For I will not contend for ever, neither will I
be always angry: for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls
which I have made.
59:19 So shall they fear the name of the LORD
from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall
come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard
against him.
21 As for me, this is my covenant with them,
says the LORD; My spirit that is upon you, and my words which I
have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, nor out of the mouth
of your seed, nor out of the mouth of your seed’s seed, says the LORD, from
now on and for ever.
61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is
upon me; because the LORD has anointed me to preach good tidings to the meek;
he has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the
captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
3 To appoint to those who mourn in Zion, to give
to them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise
for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of
righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
63:10 But they rebelled, and vexed his holy
Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought
against them.
11 Then he remembered the days of old, Moses,
and his people, saying, Where is he who brought them up out
of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? where is he who put his holy
Spirit within him?
14 As a beast goes down into the valley, the
Spirit of the LORD caused him to rest: so did you lead your people, to
make yourself a glorious name.
64:6 (5) But we are all as an unclean thing,
and all our righteousness is as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a
leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
65:14 Behold, my servants shall sing for joy of
heart, but you shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of
spirit.
66:2 For all those things has my hand
made, and all those things have been, says the LORD: but to this man
will I look, even to him who is poor and of a contrite spirit,
and trembles at my word.
Jeremiah 2:24 A wild ass used to the wilderness, that
snuffs up the wind at her pleasure; in her occasion who can turn her
away? all those who seek her will not weary themselves; in her month they shall
find her.
4:11 At that time shall it be said to this
people and to Jerusalem, A dry wind of the high places in the
wilderness toward the daughter of my people, not to fan, nor to cleanse,
12 Even a full wind from those
places shall come to me: now also will I give sentence against them.
5:13 And the prophets shall become wind,
and the word is not in them: thus shall it be done to them.
10:13 When he utters his voice, there is
a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causes the vapours to ascend from
the ends of the earth; he makes lightning with rain, and brings forth the
wind out of his treasures.
14 Every man is brutish in his knowledge:
every founder is confounded by the carved image: for his molten image is
falsehood, and there is no breath in them.
13:24 Therefore will I scatter them as the
stubble that passes away by the wind of the wilderness.
14:6 And the wild asses did stand in the high
places, they snuffed up the wind like dragons; their eyes did fail,
because there was no grass.
18:17 I will scatter them as with an east
wind before the enemy; I will show them the back, and not the face, in the
day of their calamity.
22:22 The wind shall eat up all your
pastors, and your lovers shall go into captivity: surely then shall you be
ashamed and confounded for all your wickedness.
49:32 And their camels shall be a booty, and
the multitude of their cattle a plunder: and I will scatter into all winds
those who are in the utmost corners; and I will bring their calamity from
all its sides, says the LORD.
36 And upon Elam will I bring the four
winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all
those winds; and there shall be no nation where the outcasts of Elam
shall not come.
51:1 Thus says the LORD; Behold, I will raise
up against Babylon, and against those who dwell in the midst of those who rise
up against me, a destroying wind;
11 Make bright the arrows; gather the shields: the
LORD has raised up the spirit of the kings of the Medes: for his device
is against Babylon, to destroy it; because it is the vengeance of
the LORD, the vengeance of his temple.
16 When he utters his voice, there is
a multitude of waters in the heavens; and he causes the vapours to ascend from
the ends of the earth: he makes lightning with rain, and brings forth the
wind out of his treasures.
17 Every man is brutish by his knowledge;
every founder is confounded by the carved image: for his molten image is
falsehood, and there is no breath in them.
52:23 And there were ninety and six
pomegranates on a side; and all the pomegranates upon the network
were an hundred round about.
Lamentations 4:20 The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of the LORD, was taken in their pits, of whom we said, Under his shadow we shall live among the heathen.
Ezekiel 1:4 And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind
came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a
brightness was about it, and out of its midst as the colour of
amber, out of the midst of the fire.
12 And they went every one straight forward: where the spirit was to go, they went; and they
did not turn when
they went.
1:20 Wherever the spirit was
to go, they went, there was their spirit to go; and the wheels were
lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was
in the wheels.
21 When those went, these went; and when
those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth,
the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living
creature was in the wheels.
2:2 And the spirit entered into me when he
spoke to me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him who spoke to me.
3:12 Then the spirit took me up, and I heard
behind me a voice of a great rushing, saying, Blessed be the glory
of the LORD from his place.
13 I heard also the noise of the wings of
the living creatures that touched one another, and the noise of the wheels over
against them, and a noise of a great rushing.
14 So the spirit lifted me up, and took me
away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of
the LORD was strong upon me.
24 Then the spirit entered into me, and set
me upon my feet, and spoke with me, and said to me, Go, shut yourself within
your house.
5:2 You shall burn with fire a third part in
the midst of the city, when the days of the siege are fulfilled: and you shall
take a third part, and smite about it with a knife: and a third part
you shall scatter in the wind; and I will draw out a sword after them.
5:10 Therefore the fathers shall eat the sons
in the midst of you, and the sons shall eat their fathers; and I will execute
judgments in you, and the whole remnant of you will I scatter into all the
winds.
12 A third part of you shall die with the
pestilence, and with famine shall they be consumed in the midst of you: and a
third part shall fall by the sword round about you; and I will scatter a third
part into all the winds, and I will draw out a sword after them.
8:3 And he put forth the form of an hand, and
took me by a lock of my head; and the spirit lifted me up between the
earth and the heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the
door of the inner gate that looks toward the north; where was the seat
of the image of jealousy, which provokes to jealousy.
17 When they stood, these stood; and when
they were lifted up, these lifted up themselves also: for the
spirit of the living creature was in them.
11:1 Moreover the spirit lifted me up,
and brought me to the east gate of the LORD’S house, which looks eastward:
and behold at the door of the gate five and twenty men; among whom I saw
Jaazaniah the son of Azur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the
people.
5 And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me,
and said to me, Speak; Thus says the LORD; Thus have you said, O house of
Israel: for I know the things that come into your mind, every one of
them.
19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a
new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their
flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:
24 And a spirit took me up, and brought me
in a vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to them of the captivity.
So the vision that I had seen went up from me.
12:14 And I will scatter toward every wind
all that are about him to help him, and all his bands; and I will draw
out the sword after them.
13:3 Thus says the Lord GOD; Woe to the
foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!
11 Say to them which daub it with
lime, that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing
shower; and you, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind
shall rend it.
13 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; I will even
rend it with a stormy wind in my fury; and there shall be
an overflowing shower in my anger, and great hailstones in my fury to
consume it.
Ezekiel 17:10 Yes, behold, being planted, shall
it prosper? shall it not utterly wither, when the east wind
touches it? it shall wither in the furrows where it grew.
21 And all his fugitives with all his bands shall
fall by the sword, and those who remain shall be scattered toward all winds:
and you shall know that I the LORD have spoken it.
18:31 Cast away from you all your transgressions,
by which you have transgressed; and make yourselves a new heart and a new
spirit: for why will you die, O house of Israel?
19:12 But she was plucked up in fury, she was
cast down to the ground, and the east wind dried up her fruit: her strong rods
were broken and withered; the fire consumed them.
20:32 And that which comes into your mind
shall not be at all, that you say, We will be as the heathen, as the families of
the countries, to serve wood and stone.
21:7 And it shall be, when they say to you, Why do you sigh? that you shall answer, For the tidings; because it comes: and every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be feeble, and every
spirit shall faint, and all knees shall be weak as water: behold, it
comes, and shall be brought to pass, says the Lord GOD.
27:26 Thy rowers have brought you into great
waters: the east wind
has broken you in the midst of the seas.
36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a
new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart
out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
27 And I will put my spirit within you, and
cause you to walk in my statutes, and you shall keep my judgments, and do them.
37:1 The hand of the LORD was upon me, and
carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of
the valley which was full of bones,
5 Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones; Behold,
I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live:
6 And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up
flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and
you
shall live; and you shall know that I am the LORD.
7 So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I
prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came
together, bone to his bone.
8 And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh
came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was
no breath in them.
9 Then he said to me, Prophesy to the wind,
prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus says the Lord GOD; Come
from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that
they may live.
Ezekiel 37:10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and
the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet,
an exceeding great army.
14 And shall put my spirit in you, and
you
shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall you know that I
the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, says the LORD.
39:29 Neither will I hide my face any more from
them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, says the
Lord GOD.
42:16 He measured the east side with
the measuring reed, five hundred reeds, with the measuring reed round about.
17 He measured the north side, five
hundred reeds, with the measuring reed round about.
18 He measured the south side, five
hundred reeds, with the measuring reed.
19 He turned about to the west side,
and measured five hundred reeds with the measuring reed.
20 He measured it by the four sides:
it had a wall round about, five hundred reeds long, and five hundred
broad, to make a separation between the sanctuary and the profane place.
43:5 So the spirit took me up, and brought
me into the inner court; and, behold, the glory of the LORD filled the house.
Daniel 2:1 And in the second year of the reign of
Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, by which his spirit was
troubled, and his sleep went from him.
2 Then the king commanded to call the magicians,
and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, to show the king
his dreams. So they came and stood before the king.
3 And the king said to them, I have dreamed a
dream, and my spirit was troubled to know the dream.
8:8 Therefore the he goat grew very great: and
when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable
ones toward the four winds of heaven.
11:4 And when he shall stand up, his kingdom shall
be broken, and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven;
and not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion which he ruled: for his
kingdom shall be plucked up, even for others beside those.
Hosea 4:12 My people ask counsel at their stocks, and
their staff declares to them: for the spirit of
fornication
has caused
them to err, and they have gone fornicating from under their God.
19 The wind has bound her up in her wings,
and they shall be ashamed because of their sacrifices.
5:4 They will not frame their doings to turn to
their God: for the spirit of fornication is in the midst of them,
and they have not known the LORD.
8:7 For they have sown the wind, and they
shall reap the whirlwind: it has no stalk: the bud shall yield no meal: if so
be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up.
9:7 The days of visitation are come, the days of
recompense are come; Israel shall know it: the prophet is a fool,
the spiritual man (Lit. The man of the spirit) is mad, for
the multitude of your iniquity, and the great hatred.
12:1 Ephraim feeds on wind, and
follows after the east wind: he daily increases lies and desolation; and they
make a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil is carried into Egypt.
13:15 Though he is fruitful among his
brethren, an east wind shall come, the wind of the LORD shall come up
from the wilderness, and his spring shall become dry, and his fountain shall be
dried up: he shall plunder the treasure of all pleasant vessels.
Joel 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward,
that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your
daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall
see visions:
29 And also upon the servants and upon the
handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

Jonah 1:4 But the LORD sent out a great
wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in the sea, so that the
ship was about to be broken.
4:8 And it came to pass, when the sun arose,
that God prepared a vehement east wind; and the sun beat upon the
head of Jonah, that he fainted, and wished in himself to die, and said, It is
better for me to die than to live.
Micah 2:7 O you who are named the house of
Jacob, is the spirit of the LORD straitened? are
these his doings? do not my words do good to him who walks uprightly?
11 If a man walking in the spirit and
falsehood do lie, saying, I will prophesy to you of wine and of strong
drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people.
3:8 But truly I am full of power by the spirit
of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare to Jacob his
transgression, and to Israel his sin.

and he shall pass over, and offend, imputing this his power to his god.

the dumb stone, Arise, it shall teach! Behold, it is laid over with gold
and silver, and there is no breath at all in the midst of it.
Haggai 1:14 And the LORD stirred up the spirit of
Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of
Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the
remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the LORD of
hosts, their God,
2:5 According to the word that I covenanted
with you when you came out of Egypt, so my spirit
remains among you:
do not fear.
Zechariah 2:6 Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from
the land of the north, says the LORD: for I have spread you abroad as the
four winds of the heaven, says the LORD.
4:6 Then he answered and spoke to me, saying,
This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor
by power, but by my spirit, says the LORD of hosts.
5:9 Then lifted I up my eyes, and looked, and,
behold, there came out two women, and the wind was in their wings;
for they had wings like the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah
between the earth and the heaven.
6:5 And the angel answered and said to me, These
are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from
standing before the Lord of all the earth.
8 Then cried he upon me, and spoke to me, saying,
Behold, these that go toward the north country have quieted my spirit in
the north country.
7:12 Yes, they made their hearts as an
adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the LORD of
hosts has sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore a
great wrath came from the LORD of hosts.
12:1 The burden of the word of the LORD for
Israel, says the LORD, who stretches forth the heavens, and lays the
foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him.
10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and
upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of
supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they
shall mourn for him, as one mourns for his only son, and
they shall
be in bitterness for him, as one who is in bitterness for his firstborn.
13:2 And it shall come to pass in that day, says
the LORD of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the
land, and they shall no more be remembered: and also I will cause the prophets
and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.
Malachi 2:15 And did not he make one? Yet had he
the remainder of the spirit. And why one? That he might seek a godly
