2 John 1:1 Senior Electæ dominæ, et natis ejus, quos ego diligo in veritate, et non ego solus, sed et omnes qui cognoverunt veritatem, 2 John 1:1 o presbuteroj eklekth kuria kai toij teknoij authj ouj egw agapw en alhqeia kai ouk egw monoj alla kai pantej oi egnwkotej thn alhqeian 2 John 1:1 The elder unto the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all they that have known the truth;
1:2 propter veritatem, quæ permanet in nobis, et nobiscum erit in æternum. 1:2 dia thn alhqeian thn menousan en hmin kai meq hmwn estai eij ton aiwna 1:2 For the truth's sake, which dwelleth in us, and shall be with us for ever.
1:3 Sit vobiscum gratia, misericordia, pax a Deo Patre, et a Christo Jesu Filio Patris in veritate, et caritate. 1:3 estai meq umwn xarij eleoj eirhnh para qeou patroj kai para kuriou ihsou xristou tou uiou tou patroj en alhqeia kai agaph 1:3 Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
1:4 Gavisus sum valde, quoniam inveni de filiis tuis ambulantes in veritate, sicut mandatum accepimus a Patre. 1:4 exarhn lian oti eurhka ek twn teknwn sou peripatountaj en alhqeia kaqwj entolhn elabomen para tou patroj 1:4 I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.
1:5 Et nunc rogo te domina, non tamquam mandatum novum scribens tibi, sed quod habuimus ab initio, ut diligamus alterutrum. 1:5 kai nun erwtw se kuria oux wj entolhn grafwn soi kainhn alla hn eixomen ap arxhj ina agapwmen allhlouj 1:5 And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.
1:6 Et hæc est caritas, ut ambulemus secundum mandata ejus. Hoc est enim mandatum, ut quemadmodum audistis ab initio, in eo ambuletis. 1:6 kai auth estin h agaph ina peripatwmen kata taj entolaj autou auth estin h entolh kaqwj hkousate ap arxhj ina en auth peripathte 1:6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.
1:7 Quoniam multi seductores exierunt in mundum, qui non confitentur Jesum Christum venisse in carnem: hic est seductor, et antichristus. 1:7 oti polloi planoi eishlqon eij ton kosmon oi mh omologountej ihsoun xriston erxomenon en sarki outoj estin o planoj kai o antixristoj 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
1:8 Videte vosmetipsos, ne perdatis quæ operati estis: sed ut mercedem plenam accipiatis. 1:8 blepete eautouj ina mh apoleswmen a eirgasameqa alla misqon plhrh apolabwmen 1:8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
1:9 Omnis qui recedit, et non permanet in doctrina Christi, Deum non habet: qui permanet in doctrina, hic et Patrem et Filium habet. 1:9 paj o parabainwn kai mh menwn en th didaxh tou xristou qeon ouk exei o menwn en th didaxh tou xristou outoj kai ton patera kai ton uion exei 1:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
2 John 1:10 Si quis venit ad vos, et hanc doctrinam non affert, nolite recipere eum in domum, nec Ave ei dixeritis. 2 John 1:10 ei tij erxetai proj umaj kai tauthn thn didaxhn ou ferei mh lambanete auton eij oikian kai xairein autw mh legete 2 John 1:10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
1:11 Qui enim dicit illi Ave, communicat operibus ejus malignis. 1:11 o gar legwn autw xairein koinwnei toij ergoij autou toij ponhroij 1:11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
1:12 Plura habens vobis scribere, nolui per cartam et atramentum: spero enim me futurum apud vos, et os ad os loqui: ut gaudium vestrum plenum sit. 1:12 polla exwn umin grafein ouk hboulhqhn dia xartou kai melanoj alla elpizw elqein proj umaj kai stoma proj stoma lalhsai ina h xara hmwn h peplhrwmenh 1:12 Having many things to write unto you, I would not write with paper and ink: but I trust to come unto you, and speak face to face, that our joy may be full.
1:13 Salutant te filii sororis tuæ Electæ. 1:13 aspazetai se ta tekna thj adelfhj sou thj eklekthj amhn 1:13 The children of thy elect sister greet thee. Amen.
