Philemon 1:1 Paulus vinctus Christi Jesu, et Timotheus frater, Philemoni dilecto, et adjutori nostro, Philemon 1:1 pauloj desmioj xristou ihsou kai timoqeoj o adelfoj filhmoni tw agaphtw kai sunergw hmwn Philemon 1:1 Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer,
1:2 et Appiæ sorori carissimæ, et Archippo commilitoni nostro, et ecclesiæ, quæ in domo tua est. 1:2 kai apfia th agaphth kai arxippw tw sustratiwth hmwn kai th kat oikon sou ekklhsia 1:2 And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house:
1:3 Gratia vobis, et pax a Deo Patre nostro, et Domino Jesu Christo. 1:3 xarij umin kai eirhnh apo qeou patroj hmwn kai kuriou ihsou xristou 1:3 Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
1:4 Gratias ago Deo meo, semper memoriam tui faciens in orationibus meis, 1:4 euxaristw tw qew mou pantote mneian sou poioumenoj epi twn proseuxwn mou 1:4 I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers,
1:5 audiens caritatem tuam, et fidem, quam habes in Domino Jesu, et in omnes sanctos: 1:5 akouwn sou thn agaphn kai thn pistin hn exeij proj ton kurion ihsoun kai eij pantaj touj agiouj 1:5 Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints;
1:6 ut communicatio fidei tuæ evidens fiat in agnitione omnis operis boni, quod est in vobis in Christo Jesu. 1:6 opwj h koinwnia thj pistewj sou energhj genhtai en epignwsei pantoj agaqou tou en umin eij xriston ihsoun 1:6 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.
1:7 Gaudium enim magnum habui, et consolationem in caritate tua: quia viscera sanctorum requieverunt per te, frater. 1:7 xaran gar exomen pollhn kai paraklhsin epi th agaph sou oti ta splagxna twn agiwn anapepautai dia sou adelfe 1:7 For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother.
1:8 Propter quod multam fiduciam habens in Christo Jesu imperandi tibi quod ad rem pertinet: 1:8 dio pollhn en xristw parrhsian exwn epitassein soi to anhkon 1:8 Wherefore, though I might be much bold in Christ to enjoin thee that which is convenient,
1:9 propter caritatem magis obsecro, cum sis talis, ut Paulus senex, nunc autem et vinctus Jesu Christi: 1:9 dia thn agaphn mallon parakalw toioutoj wn wj pauloj presbuthj nuni de kai desmioj ihsou xristou 1:9 Yet for love's sake I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.
Philemon 1:10 obsecro te pro meo filio, quem genui in vinculis, Onesimo, Philemon 1:10 parakalw se peri tou emou teknou on egennhsa en toij desmoij mou onhsimon Philemon 1:10 I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds:
1:11 qui tibi aliquando inutilis fuit, nunc autem et mihi et tibi utilis, 1:11 ton pote soi axrhston nuni de soi kai emoi euxrhston on anepemya 1:11 Which in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and to me:
1:12 quem remisi tibi. Tu autem illum, ut mea viscera, suscipe: 1:12 su de auton tout estin ta ema splagxna proslabou 1:12 Whom I have sent again: thou therefore receive him, that is, mine own bowels:
1:13 quem ego volueram mecum detinere, ut pro te mihi ministraret in vinculis Evangelii: 1:13 on egw eboulomhn proj emauton katexein ina uper sou diakonh moi en toij desmoij tou euaggeliou 1:13 Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered unto me in the bonds of the gospel:
1:14 sine consilio autem tuo nihil volui facere, uti ne velut ex necessitate bonum tuum esset, sed voluntarium. 1:14 xwrij de thj shj gnwmhj ouden hqelhsa poihsai ina mh wj kata anagkhn to agaqon sou h alla kata ekousion 1:14 But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.
1:15 Forsitan enim ideo discessit ad horam a te, ut æternum illum reciperes: 1:15 taxa gar dia touto exwrisqh proj wran ina aiwnion auton apexhj 1:15 For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him for ever;
1:16 jam non ut servum, sed pro servo carissimum fratrem, maxime mihi: quanto autem magis tibi et in carne, et in Domino? 1:16 ouketi wj doulon all uper doulon adelfon agaphton malista emoi posw de mallon soi kai en sarki kai en kuriw 1:16 Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?
1:17 Si ergo habes me socium, suscipe illum sicut me: 1:17 ei oun eme exeij koinwnon proslabou auton wj eme 1:17 If thou count me therefore a partner, receive him as myself.
1:18 si autem aliquid nocuit tibi, aut debet, hoc mihi imputa. 1:18 ei de ti hdikhsen se h ofeilei touto emoi ellogei 1:18 If he hath wronged thee, or oweth thee ought, put that on mine account;
1:19 Ego Paulus scripsi mea manu: ego reddam, ut non dicam tibi, quod et teipsum mihi debes: 1:19 egw pauloj egraya th emh xeiri egw apotisw ina mh legw soi oti kai seauton moi prosofeileij 1:19 I Paul have written it with mine own hand, I will repay it : albeit I do not say to thee how thou owest unto me even thine own self besides.
Philemon 1:20 ita, frater. Ego te fruar in Domino: refice viscera mea in Domino. Philemon 1:20 nai adelfe egw sou onaimhn en kuriw anapauson mou ta splagxna en kuriw Philemon 1:20 Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord.
1:21 Confidens in obedientia tua scripsi tibi: sciens quoniam et super id, quod dico, facies. 1:21 pepoiqwj th upakoh sou egraya soi eidwj oti kai uper o legw poihseij 1:21 Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.
1:22 Simul autem et para mihi hospitium: nam spero per orationes vestras donari me vobis. 1:22 ama de kai etoimaze moi cenian elpizw gar oti dia twn proseuxwn umwn xarisqhsomai umin 1:22 But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.
1:23 Salutat te Epaphras concaptivus meus in Christo Jesu, 1:23 aspazontai se epafraj o sunaixmalwtoj mou en xristw ihsou 1:23 There salute thee Epaphras, my fellowprisoner in Christ Jesus;
1:24 Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, et Lucas, adjutores mei. 1:24 markoj aristarxoj dhmaj loukaj oi sunergoi mou 1:24 Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellowlabourers.
1:25 Gratia Domini nostri Jesu Christi cum spiritu vestro. Amen. 1:25 h xarij tou kuriou hmwn ihsou xristou meta tou pneumatoj umwn amhn 1:25 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
