This is a chapter by chapter JPS 1917 English translation of the Old Testament Hebrew scriptures. The text is the Old Testament Masoretic Text translated from the Hebrew into English originally by Larry Nelson. It has been converted to HTML with a few typographical corrections and some other changes, and this HTML edition is © by Mechon Mamre 2002. At first sight it looks like the King James but careful study will show a number of changes to the translation. It is well worth a look.
