2 Thessalonians 1:1 Paulus, et Sylvanus, et Timotheus, ecclesiæ Thessalonicensium in Deo Patre nostro, et Domino Jesu Christo. 2 Thessalonians 1:1 pauloj kai silouanoj kai timoqeoj th ekklhsia qessalonikewn en qew patri hmwn kai kuriw ihsou xristw 2 Thessalonians 1:1 Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:
1:2 Gratia vobis, et pax a Deo Patre nostro, et Domino Jesu Christo. 1:2 xarij umin kai eirhnh apo qeou patroj hmwn kai kuriou ihsou xristou 1:2 Grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
1:3 Gratias agere debemus semper Deo pro vobis, fratres, ita ut dignum est, quoniam supercrescit fides vestra, et abundat caritas uniuscujusque vestrum in invicem: 1:3 euxaristein ofeilomen tw qew pantote peri umwn adelfoi kaqwj acion estin oti uperaucanei h pistij umwn kai pleonazei h agaph enoj ekastou pantwn umwn eij allhlouj 1:3 We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;
1:4 ita ut et nos ipsi in vobis gloriemur in ecclesiis Dei, pro patientia vestra, et fide, et in omnibus persecutionibus vestris, et tribulationibus, quas sustinetis 1:4 wste hmaj autouj en umin kauxasqai en taij ekklhsiaij tou qeou uper thj upomonhj umwn kai pistewj en pasin toij diwgmoij umwn kai taij qliyesin aij anexesqe 1:4 So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:
1:5 in exemplum justi judicii Dei, ut digni habeamini in regno Dei, pro quo et patimini. 1:5 endeigma thj dikaiaj krisewj tou qeou eij to kataciwqhnai umaj thj basileiaj tou qeou uper hj kai pasxete 1:5 Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:
1:6 Si tamen justum est apud Deum retribuere tribulationem iis qui vos tribulant: 1:6 eiper dikaion para qew antapodounai toij qlibousin umaj qliyin 1:6 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;
1:7 et vobis, qui tribulamini, requiem nobiscum in revelatione Domini Jesu de cælo cum angelis virtutis ejus, 1:7 kai umin toij qlibomenoij anesin meq hmwn en th apokaluyei tou kuriou ihsou ap ouranou met aggelwn dunamewj autou 1:7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
1:8 in flamma ignis dantis vindictam iis qui non noverunt Deum, et qui non obediunt Evangelio Domini nostri Jesu Christi, 1:8 en puri flogoj didontoj ekdikhsin toij mh eidosin qeon kai toij mh upakouousin tw euaggeliw tou kuriou hmwn ihsou xristou 1:8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
1:9 qui pœnas dabunt in interitu æternas a facie Domini, et a gloria virtutis ejus: 1:9 oitinej dikhn tisousin oleqron aiwnion apo proswpou tou kuriou kai apo thj dochj thj isxuoj autou 1:9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
2 Thessalonians 1:10 cum venerit glorificari in sanctis suis, et admirabilis fieri in omnibus, qui crediderunt, quia creditum est testimonium nostrum super vos in die illo. 2 Thessalonians 1:10 otan elqh endocasqhnai en toij agioij autou kai qaumasqhnai en pasin toij pisteuousin oti episteuqh to marturion hmwn ef umaj en th hmera ekeinh 2 Thessalonians 1:10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.
1:11 In quo etiam oramus semper pro vobis: ut dignetur vos vocatione sua Deus noster, et impleat omnem voluntatem bonitatis, et opus fidei in virtute, 1:11 eij o kai proseuxomeqa pantote peri umwn ina umaj aciwsh thj klhsewj o qeoj hmwn kai plhrwsh pasan eudokian agaqwsunhj kai ergon pistewj en dunamei 1:11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:
1:12 ut clarificetur nomen Domini nostri Jesu Christi in vobis, et vos in illo secundum gratiam Dei nostri, et Domini Jesu Christi. 1:12 opwj endocasqh to onoma tou kuriou hmwn ihsou xristou en umin kai umeij en autw kata thn xarin tou qeou hmwn kai kuriou ihsou xristou 1:12 That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
