PARSING
This shows how the verbs are parsed and abbreviated in Logos Apostolic Greek Interlinear Bible.
New Testament verbs are parsed in the following ways.
INDICATIVE = Person, Number, Tense, Voice, Mood.
EXAMPLES:
V-1SAPI = Verb - 1st Person Singular Aorist Passive Indicative. 2 John 4.
V-1PRAI = Verb - 1st Person Plural Perfect Active Indicative. 1 John 1:10.
V-2PPMI = Verb – 2nd Person Plural Present Middle Indicative. James 4:3.
V-3PLAI = Verb - 3rd Person Plural Pluperfect Active Indicative. Revelation 7:11.
IMPERATIVE = Person, Number, Tense, Voice, Mood.
EXAMPLES:
V-2PPAM = Verb - 2nd Person Plural Present Active Imperative. 2 John 8.
V-3SAAM = Verb - 3rd Person Singular Aorist Active Imperative. Revelation 13:18.
SUBJUNCTIVE = Person, Number, Tense, Voice, Mood.
EXAMPLES:
V-1PPAS = Verb – 1st Person Plural Present Active Subjunctive. 1 John 1:6.
V-3SAAS = Verb - 3rd Person Singular Aorist Active Subjunctive. 1 John 5:16.
OPTATIVE = Person, Number, Tense, Voice, Mood.
EXAMPLES:
V-3SADO = Verb - 3rd Person Singular Aorist Deponent Optative. Romans 6:1.
INFINITIVE = Tense, Voice, Mood.
EXAMPLES:
V-PAN = Verb - Present Active Infinitive. 2 John 10.
V-APN = Verb - Aorist Passive Infinitive. Revelation 13:10.
V-PMN = Verb - Present Middle Infinitive. James 4:2.
PARTICIPLES = Case, Gender, Number, Tense, Voice, Mood.
EXAMPLES:
V-AMP-PAP = Verb - Accusative Masculine Plural - Present Active Participle. 2 John 1:4
V-GNS-RPP = Verb - Genitive Neuter Singular - Perfect Passive Participle. Revelation 13:8
