1 Thessalonians 3:1 Wherefore when we could no longer forbear, we thought it good to be left at Athens alone;
3:2 et misimus Timotheum fratrem nostrum, et ministrum Dei in Evangelio Christi, ad confirmandos vos, et exhortandos pro fide vestra: 3:2 kai epemyamen timoqeon ton adelfon hmwn kai diakonon tou qeou kai sunergon hmwn en tw euaggeliw tou xristou eij to sthricai umaj kai parakalesai umaj peri thj pistewj umwn 3:2 And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith:
3:3 ut nemo moveatur in tribulationibus istis: ipsi enim scitis quod in hoc positi sumus. 3:3 tw mhdena sainesqai en taij qliyesin tautaij autoi gar oidate oti eij touto keimeqa 3:3 That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto.
3:4 Nam et cum apud vos essemus, prædicebamus vobis passuros nos tribulationes, sicut et factum est, et scitis. 3:4 kai gar ote proj umaj hmen proelegomen umin oti mellomen qlibesqai kaqwj kai egeneto kai oidate 3:4 For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know.
3:5 Propterea et ego amplius non sustinens, misi ad cognoscendam fidem vestram: ne forte tentaverit vos is qui tentat, et inanis fiat labor noster. 3:5 dia touto kagw mhketi stegwn epemya eij to gnwnai thn pistin umwn mhpwj epeirasen umaj o peirazwn kai eij kenon genhtai o kopoj hmwn 3:5 For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain.
3:6 Nunc autem veniente Timotheo ad nos a vobis, et annuntiante nobis fidem et caritatem vestram, et quia memoriam nostri habetis bonam semper, desiderantes nos videre, sicut et nos quoque vos: 3:6 arti de elqontoj timoqeou proj hmaj af umwn kai euaggelisamenou hmin thn pistin kai thn agaphn umwn kai oti exete mneian hmwn agaqhn pantote epipoqountej hmaj idein kaqaper kai hmeij umaj 3:6 But now when Timotheus came from you unto us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity, and that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also to see you:
3:7 ideo consolati sumus, fratres, in vobis in omni necessitate et tribulatione nostra, per fidem vestram, 3:7 dia touto pareklhqhmen adelfoi ef umin epi pash th qliyei kai anagkh hmwn dia thj umwn pistewj 3:7 Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith:
3:8 quoniam nunc vivimus, si vos statis in Domino. 3:8 oti nun zwmen ean umeij sthkhte en kuriw 3:8 For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.
3:9 Quam enim gratiarum actionem possumus Deo retribuere pro vobis in omni gaudio, quo gaudemus propter vos ante Deum nostrum, 3:9 tina gar euxaristian dunameqa tw qew antapodounai peri umwn epi pash th xara h xairomen di umaj emprosqen tou qeou hmwn 3:9 For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God;
1 Thessalonians 3:10 nocte ac die abundantius orantes, ut videamus faciem vestram, et compleamus ea quæ desunt fidei vestræ? 1 Thessalonians 3:10 nuktoj kai hmeraj uper ekperissou deomenoi eij to idein umwn to proswpon kai katartisai ta usterhmata thj pistewj umwn 1 Thessalonians 3:10 Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?
3:11 Ipse autem Deus, et Pater noster, et Dominus noster Jesus Christus, dirigat viam nostram ad vos. 3:11 autoj de o qeoj kai pathr hmwn kai o kurioj hmwn ihsouj xristoj kateuqunai thn odon hmwn proj umaj 3:11 Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you.
3:12 Vos autem Dominus multiplicet, et abundare faciat caritatem vestram in invicem, et in omnes, quemadmodum et nos in vobis: 3:12 umaj de o kurioj pleonasai kai perisseusai th agaph eij allhlouj kai eij pantaj kaqaper kai hmeij eij umaj 3:12 And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:
3:13 ad confirmanda corda vestra sine querela in sanctitate, ante Deum et Patrem nostrum, in adventu Domini nostri Jesu Christi cum omnibus sanctis ejus. Amen. 3:13 eij to sthricai umwn taj kardiaj amemptouj en agiwsunh emprosqen tou qeou kai patroj hmwn en th parousia tou kuriou hmwn ihsou xristou meta pantwn twn agiwn autou 3:13 To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
