1 Timothy 2:1 Obsecro igitur primum omnium fieri obsecrationes, orationes, postulationes, gratiarum actiones, pro omnibus hominibus: 1 Timothy 2:1 parakalw oun prwton pantwn poieisqai dehseij proseuxaj enteuceij euxaristiaj uper pantwn anqrwpwn 1 Timothy 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2:2 pro regibus, et omnibus qui in sublimitate sunt, ut quietam et tranquillam vitam agamus in omni pietate, et castitate: 2:2 uper basilewn kai pantwn twn en uperoxh ontwn ina hremon kai hsuxion bion diagwmen en pash eusebeia kai semnothti 2:2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
2:3 hoc enim bonum est, et acceptum coram Salvatore nostro Deo, 2:3 touto gar kalon kai apodekton enwpion tou swthroj hmwn qeou 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
2:4 qui omnes homines vult salvos fieri, et ad agnitionem veritatis venire. 2:4 oj pantaj anqrwpouj qelei swqhnai kai eij epignwsin alhqeiaj elqein 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
2:5 Unus enim Deus, unus et mediator Dei et hominum homo Christus Jesus: 2:5 eij gar qeoj eij kai mesithj qeou kai anqrwpwn anqrwpoj xristoj ihsouj 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
2:6 qui dedit redemptionem semetipsum pro omnibus, testimonium temporibus suis: 2:6 o douj eauton antilutron uper pantwn to marturion kairoij idioij 2:6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
2:7 in quo positus sum ego prædicator, et Apostolus (veritatem dico, non mentior) doctor gentium in fide, et veritate. 2:7 eij o eteqhn egw khruc kai apostoloj alhqeian legw en xristw ou yeudomai didaskaloj eqnwn en pistei kai alhqeia 2:7 Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.
2:8 Volo ergo viros orare in omni loco, levantes puras manus sine ira et disceptatione. 2:8 boulomai oun proseuxesqai touj andraj en panti topw epairontaj osiouj xeiraj xwrij orghj kai dialogismou 2:8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
2:9 Similiter et mulieres in habitu ornato, cum verecundia et sobrietate ornantes se, et non in tortis crinibus, aut auro, aut margaritas, vel veste pretiosa: 2:9 wsautwj kai taj gunaikaj en katastolh kosmiw meta aidouj kai swfrosunhj kosmein eautaj mh en plegmasin h xrusw h margaritaij h imatismw polutelei 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
1 Timothy 2:10 sed quod decet mulieres, promittentes pietatem per opera bona. 1 Timothy 2:10 all o prepei gunaicin epaggellomenaij qeosebeian di ergwn agaqwn 1 Timothy 2:10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.
2:11 Mulier in silentio discat cum omni subjectione. 2:11 gunh en hsuxia manqanetw en pash upotagh 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
2:12 Docere autem mulierem non permitto, neque dominari in virum: sed esse in silentio. 2:12 gunaiki de didaskein ouk epitrepw oude auqentein androj all einai en hsuxia 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
2:13 Adam enim primus formatus est: deinde Heva: 2:13 adam gar prwtoj eplasqh eita eua 2:13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
2:14 et Adam non est seductus: mulier autem seducta in prævaricatione fuit. 2:14 kai adam ouk hpathqh h de gunh apathqeisa en parabasei gegonen 2:14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
2:15 Salvabitur autem per filiorum generationem, si permanserit in fide, et dilectione, et sanctificatione cum sobrietate. 2:15 swqhsetai de dia thj teknogoniaj ean meinwsin en pistei kai agaph kai agiasmw meta swfrosunhj 2:15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
