| 4:2 in hypocrisi loquentium mendacium, et cauteriatam habentium suam conscientiam, | 4:2 ἐν ὑποκρίσει ψευδολόγων κεκαυτηριασμένων τὴν ἰδίαν συνείδησιν | 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; |

| 4:6 Hæc proponens fratribus, bonus eris minister Christi Jesu enutritus verbis fidei, et bonæ doctrinæ, quam assecutus es. | 4:6 ταῦτα ὑποτιθέμενος τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς καλὸς ἔσῃ διάκονος ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ ἐντρεφόμενος τοῖς λόγοις τῆς πίστεως καὶ τῆς καλῆς διδασκαλίας ᾗ παρηκολούθηκας | 4:6 If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained. |
| 4:7 Ineptas autem, et aniles fabulas devita: exerce autem teipsum ad pietatem. | 4:7 τοὺς δὲ βεβήλους καὶ γραώδεις μύθους παραιτοῦ γύμναζε δὲ σεαυτὸν πρὸς εὐσέβειαν | 4:7 But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness. |
| 4:8 Nam corporalis exercitatio, ad modicum utilis est: pietas autem ad omnia utilis est, promissionem habens vitæ, quæ nunc est, et futuræ. | 4:8 ἡ γὰρ σωματικὴ γυμνασία πρὸς ὀλίγον ἐστὶν ὠφέλιμος ἡ δὲ εὐσέβεια πρὸς πάντα ὠφέλιμός ἐστιν ἐπαγγελίαν ἔχουσα ζωῆς τῆς νῦν καὶ τῆς μελλούσης | 4:8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. |
| 4:9 Fidelis sermo, et omni acceptione dignus. | 4:9 πιστὸς ὁ λόγος καὶ πάσης ἀποδοχῆς ἄξιος | 4:9 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation. |
