Colossians 1:1 Paulus Apostolus Jesu Christi per voluntatem Dei, et Timotheus frater: Colossians 1:1 pauloj apostoloj ihsou xristou dia qelhmatoj qeou kai timoqeoj o adelfoj Colossians 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother,
1:2 eis, qui sunt Colossis, sanctis, et fidelibus fratribus in Christo Jesu. Gratia vobis, et pax a Deo Patre nostro, et Domino Jesu Christo. 1:2 toij en kolossaij agioij kai pistoij adelfoij en xristw xarij umin kai eirhnh apo qeou patroj hmwn kai kuriou ihsou xristou 1:2 To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
1:3 Gratias agimus Deo, et Patri Domini nostri Jesu Christi semper pro vobis orantes: 1:3 euxaristoumen tw qew kai patri tou kuriou hmwn ihsou xristou pantote peri umwn proseuxomenoi 1:3 We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
1:4 audientes fidem vestram in Christo Jesu, et dilectionem quam habetis in sanctos omnes 1:4 akousantej thn pistin umwn en xristw ihsou kai thn agaphn thn eij pantaj touj agiouj 1:4 Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,
1:5 propter spem, quæ reposita est vobis in cælis: quam audistis in verbo veritatis Evangelii: 1:5 dia thn elpida thn apokeimenhn umin en toij ouranoij hn prohkousate en tw logw thj alhqeiaj tou euaggeliou 1:5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
1:6 quod pervenit ad vos, sicut et in universo mundo est, et fructificat, et crescit sicut in vobis, ex ea die, qua audistis, et cognovistis gratiam Dei in veritate, 1:6 tou parontoj eij umaj kaqwj kai en panti tw kosmw kai estin karpoforoumenon kaqwj kai en umin af hj hmeraj hkousate kai epegnwte thn xarin tou qeou en alhqeia 1:6 Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:
1:7 sicut didicistis ab Epaphra carissimo conservo nostro, qui est fidelis pro vobis minister Christi Jesu, 1:7 kaqwj kai emaqete apo epafra tou agaphtou sundoulou hmwn oj estin pistoj uper umwn diakonoj tou xristou 1:7 As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ;
1:8 qui etiam manifestavit nobis dilectionem vestram in spiritu. 1:8 o kai dhlwsaj hmin thn umwn agaphn en pneumati 1:8 Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.
1:9 Ideo et nos ex qua die audivimus, non cessamus pro vobis orantes, et postulantes ut impleamini agnitione voluntatis ejus, in omni sapientia et intellectu spiritali: 1:9 dia touto kai hmeij af hj hmeraj hkousamen ou pauomeqa uper umwn proseuxomenoi kai aitoumenoi ina plhrwqhte thn epignwsin tou qelhmatoj autou en pash sofia kai sunesei pneumatikh 1:9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
Colossians 1:10 ut ambuletis digne Deo per omnia placentes: in omni opere bono fructificantes, et crescentes in scientia Dei: Colossians 1:10 peripathsai umaj aciwj tou kuriou eij pasan areskeian en panti ergw agaqw karpoforountej kai aucanomenoi eij thn epignwsin tou qeou Colossians 1:10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
1:11 in omni virtute confortati secundum potentiam claritatis ejus, in omni patientia et longanimitate cum gaudio, 1:11 en pash dunamei dunamoumenoi kata to kratoj thj dochj autou eij pasan upomonhn kai makroqumian meta xaraj 1:11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
1:12 gratias agentes Deo Patri, qui dignos nos fecit in partem sortis sanctorum in lumine: 1:12 euxaristountej tw patri tw ikanwsanti hmaj eij thn merida tou klhrou twn agiwn en tw fwti 1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
1:13 qui eripuit nos de potestate tenebrarum, et transtulit in regnum filii dilectionis suæ, 1:13 oj errusato hmaj ek thj ecousiaj tou skotouj kai metesthsen eij thn basileian tou uiou thj agaphj autou 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
1:14 in quo habemus redemptionem per sanguinem ejus, remissionem peccatorum: 1:14 en w exomen thn apolutrwsin dia tou aimatoj autou thn afesin twn amartiwn 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
1:15 qui est imago Dei invisibilis, primogenitus omnis creaturæ: 1:15 oj estin eikwn tou qeou tou aoratou prwtotokoj pashj ktisewj 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
1:16 quoniam in ipso condita sunt universa in cælis, et in terra, visibilia, et invisibilia, sive throni, sive dominationes, sive principatus, sive potestates: omnia per ipsum et in ipso creata sunt: 1:16 oti en autw ektisqh ta panta ta en toij ouranoij kai ta epi thj ghj ta orata kai ta aorata eite qronoi eite kuriothtej eite arxai eite ecousiai ta panta di autou kai eij auton ektistai 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
1:17 et ipse est ante omnes, et omnia in ipso constant. 1:17 kai autoj estin pro pantwn kai ta panta en autw sunesthken 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
1:18 Et ipse est caput corporis Ecclesiæ, qui est principium, primogenitus ex mortuis: ut sit in omnibus ipse primatum tenens: 1:18 kai autoj estin h kefalh tou swmatoj thj ekklhsiaj oj estin arxh prwtotokoj ek twn nekrwn ina genhtai en pasin autoj prwteuwn 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
1:19 quia in ipso complacuit, omnem plenitudinem inhabitare: 1:19 oti en autw eudokhsen pan to plhrwma katoikhsai 1:19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
Colossians 1:20 et per eum reconciliare omnia in ipsum, pacificans per sanguinem crucis ejus, sive quæ in terris, sive quæ in cælis sunt. Colossians 1:20 kai di autou apokatallacai ta panta eij auton eirhnopoihsaj dia tou aimatoj tou staurou autou di autou eite ta epi thj ghj eite ta en toij ouranoij Colossians 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
1:21 Et vos cum essetis aliquando alienati, et inimici sensu in operibus malis: 1:21 kai umaj pote ontaj aphllotriwmenouj kai exqrouj th dianoia en toij ergoij toij ponhroij nuni de apokathllacen 1:21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
1:22 nunc autem reconciliavit in corpore carnis ejus per mortem, exhibere vos sanctos, et immaculatos, et irreprehensibiles coram ipso: 1:22 en tw swmati thj sarkoj autou dia tou qanatou parasthsai umaj agiouj kai amwmouj kai anegklhtouj katenwpion autou 1:22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
1:23 si tamen permanetis in fide fundati, et stabiles, et immobiles a spe Evangelii, quod audistis, quod prædicatum est in universa creatura, quæ sub cælo est, cujus factus sum ego Paulus minister. 1:23 eige epimenete th pistei teqemeliwmenoi kai edraioi kai mh metakinoumenoi apo thj elpidoj tou euaggeliou ou hkousate tou khruxqentoj en pash th ktisei th upo ton ouranon ou egenomhn egw pauloj diakonoj 1:23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;
1:24 Qui nunc gaudeo in passionibus pro vobis, et adimpleo ea quæ desunt passionem Christi, in carne mea pro corpore ejus, quod est Ecclesia: 1:24 oj nun xairw en toij paqhmasin mou uper umwn kai antanaplhrw ta usterhmata twn qliyewn tou xristou en th sarki mou uper tou swmatoj autou o estin h ekklhsia 1:24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:
1:25 cujus factus sum ego minister secundum dispensationem Dei, quæ data est mihi in vos, ut impleam verbum Dei: 1:25 hj egenomhn egw diakonoj kata thn oikonomian tou qeou thn doqeisan moi eij umaj plhrwsai ton logon tou qeou 1:25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;
1:26 mysterium, quod absconditum fuit a sæculis, et generationibus, nunc autem manifestatum est sanctis ejus, 1:26 to musthrion to apokekrummenon apo twn aiwnwn kai apo twn genewn nuni de efanerwqh toij agioij autou 1:26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
1:27 quibus voluit Deus notas facere divitias gloriæ sacramenti hujus in gentibus, quod est Christus, in vobis spes gloriæ, 1:27 oij hqelhsen o qeoj gnwrisai tij o ploutoj thj dochj tou musthriou toutou en toij eqnesin oj estin xristoj en umin h elpij thj dochj 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
1:28 quem nos annuntiamus, corripientes omnem hominem, et docentes omnem hominem, in omni sapientia, ut exhibeamus omnem hominem perfectum in Christo Jesu: 1:28 on hmeij kataggellomen nouqetountej panta anqrwpon kai didaskontej panta anqrwpon en pash sofia ina parasthswmen panta anqrwpon teleion en xristw ihsou 1:28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
