Hebrews 7:1 outoj gar o melxisedek basileuj salhm iereuj tou qeou tou uyistou o sunanthsaj abraam upostrefonti apo thj kophj twn basilewn kai euloghsaj auton Hebrews 7:1 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;
7:2 w kai dekathn apo pantwn emerisen abraam prwton men ermhneuomenoj basileuj dikaiosunhj epeita de kai basileuj salhm o estin basileuj eirhnhj 7:2 To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;

7:4 qewreite de phlikoj outoj w kai dekathn abraam edwken ek twn akroqiniwn o patriarxhj 7:4 Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.

7:6 o de mh genealogoumenoj ec autwn dedekatwken ton abraam kai ton exonta taj epaggeliaj euloghken 7:6 But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises.

7:8 kai wde men dekataj apoqnhskontej anqrwpoi lambanousin ekei de marturoumenoj oti zh 7:8 And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.
7:9 kai wj epoj eipein dia abraam kai leui o dekataj lambanwn dedekatwtai 7:9 And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham.
Hebrews 7:10 eti gar en th osfui tou patroj hn ote sunhnthsen autw o melxisedek Hebrews 7:10 For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him.

7:12 metatiqemenhj gar thj ierwsunhj ec anagkhj kai nomou metaqesij ginetai 7:12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.
7:13 ef on gar legetai tauta fulhj eteraj metesxhken af hj oudeij prosesxhken tw qusiasthriw 7:13 For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.

7:18 aqethsij men gar ginetai proagoushj entolhj dia to authj asqenej kai anwfelej 7:18 For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.
7:19 ouden gar eteleiwsen o nomoj epeisagwgh de kreittonoj elpidoj di hj eggizomen tw qew 7:19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.

7:22 kata tosouton kreittonoj diaqhkhj gegonen egguoj ihsouj 7:22 By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.
