1:2 secundum præscientiam Dei Patris, in sanctificationem Spiritus, in obedientiam, et aspersionem sanguinis Jesu Christi. 1:6 In quo exsultabis, modicum nunc si oportet contristari in variis tentationibus: 1:6 en w agalliasqe oligon arti ei deon estin luphqentej en poikiloij peirasmoij 1:6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:

1:13 Propter quod succincti lumbos mentis vestræ, sobrii, perfecte sperate in eam, quæ offertur vobis, gratiam, in revelationem Jesu Christi: 1:13 dio anazwsamenoi taj osfuaj thj dianoiaj umwn nhfontej teleiwj elpisate epi thn feromenhn umin xarin en apokaluyei ihsou xristou 1:13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
1:14 quasi filii obedientiæ, non configurati prioribus ignorantiæ vestræ desideriis: 1:14 wj tekna upakohj mh susxhmatizomenoi taij proteron en th agnoia umwn epiqumiaij 1:14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
1:15 sed secundum eum qui vocavit vos, Sanctum: et ipsi in omni conversatione sancti sitis: 1:15 alla kata ton kalesanta umaj agion kai autoi agioi en pash anastrofh genhqhte 1:15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
1:16 quoniam scriptum est: Sancti eritis, quoniam ego sanctus sum. 1:16 dioti gegraptai agioi genesqe oti egw agioj eimi 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
1:17 Et si patrem invocatis eum, qui sine acceptione personarum judicat secundum uniuscujusque opus, in timore incolatus vestri tempore conversamini. 1:17 kai ei patera epikaleisqe ton aproswpolhptwj krinonta kata to ekastou ergon en fobw ton thj paroikiaj umwn xronon anastrafhte 1:17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:

1:23 renati non ex semine corruptibili, sed incorruptibili per verbum Dei vivi, et permanentis in æternum: 1:23 anagegennhmenoi ouk ek sporaj fqarthj alla afqartou dia logou zwntoj qeou kai menontoj eij ton aiwna 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
1:24 quia omnis caro ut fœnum: et omnis gloria ejus tamquam flos fœni: exaruit fœnum, et flos ejus decidit. 1:24 dioti pasa sarc wj xortoj kai pasa doca anqrwpou wj anqoj xortou echranqh o xortoj kai to anqoj autou ecepesen 1:24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
1:25 Verbum autem Domini manet in æternum: hoc est autem verbum, quod evangelizatum est in vos. 1:25 to de rhma kuriou menei eij ton aiwna touto de estin to rhma to euaggelisqen eij umaj 1:25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
