Galatians 1:1 Paulus, Apostolus non ab hominibus, neque per hominem, sed per Jesum Christum, et Deum Patrem, qui suscitavit eum a mortuis: Galatians 1:1 pauloj apostoloj ouk ap anqrwpwn oude di anqrwpou alla dia ihsou xristou kai qeou patroj tou egeirantoj auton ek nekrwn Galatians 1:1 Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)
1:2 et qui mecum sunt omnes fratres, ecclesiis Galatiæ. 1:2 kai oi sun emoi pantej adelfoi taij ekklhsiaij thj galatiaj 1:2 And all the brethren which are with me, unto the churches of Galatia:
1:3 Gratia vobis, et pax a Deo Patre, et Domino nostro Jesu Christo, 1:3 xarij umin kai eirhnh apo qeou patroj kai kuriou hmwn ihsou xristou 1:3 Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,
1:4 qui dedit semetipsum pro peccatis nostris, ut eriperet nos de præsenti sæculo nequam, secundum voluntatem Dei et Patris nostri, 1:4 tou dontoj eauton uper twn amartiwn hmwn opwj ecelhtai hmaj ek tou enestwtoj aiwnoj ponhrou kata to qelhma tou qeou kai patroj hmwn 1:4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:
1:5 cui est gloria in sæcula sæculorum. Amen. 1:5 w h doca eij touj aiwnaj twn aiwnwn amhn 1:5 To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
1:6 Miror quod sic tam cito transferimini ab eo qui vos vocavit in gratiam Christi in aliud Evangelium: 1:6 qaumazw oti outwj taxewj metatiqesqe apo tou kalesantoj umaj en xariti xristou eij eteron euaggelion 1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
1:7 quod non est aliud, nisi sunt aliqui qui vos conturbant, et volunt convertere Evangelium Christi. 1:7 o ouk estin allo ei mh tinej eisin oi tarassontej umaj kai qelontej metastreyai to euaggelion tou xristou 1:7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
1:8 Sed licet nos aut angelus de cælo evangelizet vobis præterquam quod evangelizavimus vobis, anathema sit. 1:8 alla kai ean hmeij h aggeloj ec ouranou euaggelizhtai umin par o euhggelisameqa umin anaqema estw 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
1:9 Sicut prædiximus, et nunc iterum dico: si quis vobis evangelizaverit præter id quod accepistis, anathema sit. 1:9 wj proeirhkamen kai arti palin legw ei tij umaj euaggelizetai par o parelabete anaqema estw 1:9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
Galatians 1:10 Modo enim hominibus suadeo, an Deo? an quæro hominibus placere? si adhuc hominibus placerem, Christi servus non essem. Galatians 1:10 arti gar anqrwpouj peiqw h ton qeon h zhtw anqrwpoij areskein ei gar eti anqrwpoij hreskon xristou douloj ouk an hmhn Galatians 1:10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
1:11 Notum enim vobis facio, fratres, Evangelium, quod evangelizatum est a me, quia non est secundum hominem: 1:11 gnwrizw de umin adelfoi to euaggelion to euaggelisqen up emou oti ouk estin kata anqrwpon 1:11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
1:12 neque enim ego ab homine accepi illud, neque didici, sed per revelationem Jesu Christi. 1:12 oude gar egw para anqrwpou parelabon auto oute edidaxqhn alla di apokaluyewj ihsou xristou 1:12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
1:13 Audistis enim conversationem meam aliquando in Judaismo: quoniam supra modum persequebar Ecclesiam Dei, et expugnabam illam, 1:13 hkousate gar thn emhn anastrofhn pote en tw ioudaismw oti kaq uperbolhn ediwkon thn ekklhsian tou qeou kai eporqoun authn 1:13 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:
1:14 et proficiebam in Judaismo supra multos coætaneos meos in genere meo, abundantius æmulator existens paternarum mearum traditionum. 1:14 kai proekopton en tw ioudaismw uper pollouj sunhlikiwtaj en tw genei mou perissoterwj zhlwthj uparxwn twn patrikwn mou paradosewn 1:14 And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.
1:15 Cum autem placuit ei, qui me segregavit ex utero matris meæ, et vocavit per gratiam suam, 1:15 ote de eudokhsen o qeoj o aforisaj me ek koiliaj mhtroj mou kai kalesaj dia thj xaritoj autou 1:15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,
1:16 ut revelaret Filium suum in me, ut evangelizarem illum in gentibus: continuo non acquievi carni et sanguini, 1:16 apokaluyai ton uion autou en emoi ina euaggelizwmai auton en toij eqnesin euqewj ou prosaneqemhn sarki kai aimati 1:16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:
1:17 neque veni Jerosolymam ad antecessores meos Apostolos: sed abii in Arabiam, et iterum reversus sum Damascum: 1:17 oude anhlqon eij ierosoluma proj touj pro emou apostolouj all aphlqon eij arabian kai palin upestreya eij damaskon 1:17 Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus.
1:18 deinde post annos tres veni Jerosolymam videre Petrum, et mansi apud eum diebus quindecim: 1:18 epeita meta eth tria anhlqon eij ierosoluma istorhsai petron kai epemeina proj auton hmeraj dekapente 1:18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days.
1:19 alium autem Apostolorum vidi neminem, nisi Jacobum fratrem Domini. 1:19 eteron de twn apostolwn ouk eidon ei mh iakwbon ton adelfon tou kuriou 1:19 But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother.
Galatians 1:20 Quæ autem scribo vobis, ecce coram Deo, quia non mentior. Galatians 1:20 a de grafw umin idou enwpion tou qeou oti ou yeudomai Galatians 1:20 Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.
1:21 Deinde veni in partes Syriæ, et Ciliciæ. 1:21 epeita hlqon eij ta klimata thj suriaj kai thj kilikiaj 1:21 Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia;
1:22 Eram autem ignotus facie ecclesiis Judææ, quæ erant in Christo: 1:22 hmhn de agnooumenoj tw proswpw taij ekklhsiaij thj ioudaiaj taij en xristw 1:22 And was unknown by face unto the churches of Judaea which were in Christ:
1:23 tantum autem auditum habebant quoniam qui persequebatur nos aliquando, nunc evangelizat fidem, quam aliquando expugnabat: 1:23 monon de akouontej hsan oti o diwkwn hmaj pote nun euaggelizetai thn pistin hn pote eporqei 1:23 But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed.
1:24 et in me clarificabant Deum. 1:24 kai edocazon en emoi ton qeon 1:24 And they glorified God in me.
