GALATIANS CHAPTER 1
Latin Vulgate | Greek Textus Receptus | English King James |
---|---|---|
Galatians 1:1 Paulus, Apostolus non ab hominibus, neque per hominem, sed per Jesum Christum, et Deum Patrem, qui suscitavit eum a mortuis: | Galatians 1:1 παῦλος ἀπόστολος οὐκ ἀπ᾽ ἀνθρώπων οὐδὲ δι᾽ ἀνθρώπου ἀλλὰ διὰ ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ καὶ θεοῦ πατρὸς τοῦ ἐγείραντος αὐτὸν ἐκ νεκρῶν | Galatians 1:1 Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;) |
1:2 et qui mecum sunt omnes fratres, ecclesiis Galatiæ. | 1:2 καὶ οἱ σὺν ἐμοὶ πάντες ἀδελφοί ταῖς ἐκκλησίαις τῆς γαλατίας | 1:2 And all the brethren which are with me, unto the churches of Galatia: |
1:3 Gratia vobis, et pax a Deo Patre, et Domino nostro Jesu Christo, | 1:3 χάρις ὑμῖν καὶ εἰρήνη ἀπὸ θεοῦ πατρὸς καὶ κυρίου ἡμῶν ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ | 1:3 Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, |
1:4 qui dedit semetipsum pro peccatis nostris, ut eriperet nos de præsenti sæculo nequam, secundum voluntatem Dei et Patris nostri, | 1:4 τοῦ δόντος ἑαυτὸν ὑπὲρ τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν ἡμῶν ὅπως ἐξέληται ἡμᾶς ἐκ τοῦ ἐνεστῶτος αἰῶνος πονηροῦ κατὰ τὸ θέλημα τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ πατρὸς ἡμῶν | 1:4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: |
1:5 cui est gloria in sæcula sæculorum. Amen. | 1:5 ᾧ ἡ δόξα εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων ἀμήν | 1:5 To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. |
1:6 Miror quod sic tam cito transferimini ab eo qui vos vocavit in gratiam Christi in aliud Evangelium: | 1:6 θαυμάζω ὅτι οὕτως ταχέως μετατίθεσθε ἀπὸ τοῦ καλέσαντος ὑμᾶς ἐν χάριτι χριστοῦ εἰς ἕτερον εὐαγγέλιον | 1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: |
1:7 quod non est aliud, nisi sunt aliqui qui vos conturbant, et volunt convertere Evangelium Christi. | 1:7 ὃ οὐκ ἔστιν ἄλλο εἰ μή τινές εἰσιν οἱ ταράσσοντες ὑμᾶς καὶ θέλοντες μεταστρέψαι τὸ εὐαγγέλιον τοῦ χριστοῦ | 1:7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. |
1:8 Sed licet nos aut angelus de cælo evangelizet vobis præterquam quod evangelizavimus vobis, anathema sit. | 1:8 ἀλλὰ καὶ ἐὰν ἡμεῖς ἢ ἄγγελος ἐξ οὐρανοῦ εὐαγγελίζηται ὑμῖν παρ᾽ ὃ εὐηγγελισάμεθα ὑμῖν ἀνάθεμα ἔστω | 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. |
1:9 Sicut prædiximus, et nunc iterum dico: si quis vobis evangelizaverit præter id quod accepistis, anathema sit. | 1:9 ὡς προειρήκαμεν καὶ ἄρτι πάλιν λέγω εἴ τις ὑμᾶς εὐαγγελίζεται παρ᾽ ὃ παρελάβετε ἀνάθεμα ἔστω | 1:9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. |
Galatians 1:10 Modo enim hominibus suadeo, an Deo? an quæro hominibus placere? si adhuc hominibus placerem, Christi servus non essem. | Gal 1:10 ἄρτι γὰρ ἀνθρώπους πείθω ἢ τὸν θεόν ἢ ζητῶ ἀνθρώποις ἀρέσκειν εἰ γὰρ ἔτι ἀνθρώποις ἤρεσκον χριστοῦ δοῦλος οὐκ ἂν ἤμην | Galatians 1:10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. |
1:11 Notum enim vobis facio, fratres, Evangelium, quod evangelizatum est a me, quia non est secundum hominem: | 1:11 γνωρίζω δὲ ὑμῖν ἀδελφοί τὸ εὐαγγέλιον τὸ εὐαγγελισθὲν ὑπ᾽ ἐμοῦ ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν κατὰ ἄνθρωπον | 1:11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. |
1:12 neque enim ego ab homine accepi illud, neque didici, sed per revelationem Jesu Christi. | 1:12 οὐδὲ γὰρ ἐγὼ παρὰ ἀνθρώπου παρέλαβον αὐτό οὔτε ἐδιδάχθην ἀλλὰ δι᾽ ἀποκαλύψεως ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ | 1:12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. |
1:13 Audistis enim conversationem meam aliquando in Judaismo: quoniam supra modum persequebar Ecclesiam Dei, et expugnabam illam, | 1:13 ἠκούσατε γὰρ τὴν ἐμὴν ἀναστροφήν ποτε ἐν τῷ ἰουδαϊσμῷ ὅτι καθ᾽ ὑπερβολὴν ἐδίωκον τὴν ἐκκλησίαν τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ ἐπόρθουν αὐτήν | 1:13 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it: |
1:14 et proficiebam in Judaismo supra multos coætaneos meos in genere meo, abundantius æmulator existens paternarum mearum traditionum. | 1:14 καὶ προέκοπτον ἐν τῷ ἰουδαϊσμῷ ὑπὲρ πολλοὺς συνηλικιώτας ἐν τῷ γένει μου περισσοτέρως ζηλωτὴς ὑπάρχων τῶν πατρικῶν μου παραδόσεων | 1:14 And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers. |
1:15 Cum autem placuit ei, qui me segregavit ex utero matris meæ, et vocavit per gratiam suam, | 1:15 ὅτε δὲ εὐδόκησεν ὁ θεὸς ὁ ἀφορίσας με ἐκ κοιλίας μητρός μου καὶ καλέσας διὰ τῆς χάριτος αὐτοῦ | 1:15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, |
1:16 ut revelaret Filium suum in me, ut evangelizarem illum in gentibus: continuo non acquievi carni et sanguini, | 1:16 ἀποκαλύψαι τὸν υἱὸν αὐτοῦ ἐν ἐμοὶ ἵνα εὐαγγελίζωμαι αὐτὸν ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν εὐθέως οὐ προσανεθέμην σαρκὶ καὶ αἵματι | 1:16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: |
1:17 neque veni Jerosolymam ad antecessores meos Apostolos: sed abii in Arabiam, et iterum reversus sum Damascum: | 1:17 οὐδὲ ἀνῆλθον εἰς ἱεροσόλυμα πρὸς τοὺς πρὸ ἐμοῦ ἀποστόλους ἀλλ᾽ ἀπῆλθον εἰς ἀραβίαν καὶ πάλιν ὑπέστρεψα εἰς δαμασκόν | 1:17 Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus. |
1:18 deinde post annos tres veni Jerosolymam videre Petrum, et mansi apud eum diebus quindecim: | 1:18 ἕπειτα μετὰ ἔτη τρία ἀνῆλθον εἰς ἱεροσόλυμα ἱστορῆσαι πέτρον, καὶ ἐπέμεινα πρὸς αὐτὸν ἡμέρας δεκαπέντε | 1:18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days. |
1:19 alium autem Apostolorum vidi neminem, nisi Jacobum fratrem Domini. | 1:19 ἕτερον δὲ τῶν ἀποστόλων οὐκ εἶδον εἰ μὴ ἰάκωβον τὸν ἀδελφὸν τοῦ κυρίου | 1:19 But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother. |
Galatians 1:20 Quæ autem scribo vobis, ecce coram Deo, quia non mentior. | Gal 1:20 ἃ δὲ γράφω ὑμῖν ἰδού, ἐνώπιον τοῦ θεοῦ ὅτι οὐ ψεύδομαι | Galatians 1:20 Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not. |
1:21 Deinde veni in partes Syriæ, et Ciliciæ. | 1:21 ἔπειτα ἦλθον εἰς τὰ κλίματα τῆς συρίας καὶ τῆς κιλικίας | 1:21 Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia; |
1:22 Eram autem ignotus facie ecclesiis Judææ, quæ erant in Christo: | 1:22 ἤμην δὲ ἀγνοούμενος τῷ προσώπῳ ταῖς ἐκκλησίαις τῆς ἰουδαίας ταῖς ἐν χριστῷ | 1:22 And was unknown by face unto the churches of Judaea which were in Christ: |
1:23 tantum autem auditum habebant quoniam qui persequebatur nos aliquando, nunc evangelizat fidem, quam aliquando expugnabat: | 1:23 μόνον δὲ ἀκούοντες ἦσαν ὅτι ὁ διώκων ἡμᾶς ποτε νῦν εὐαγγελίζεται τὴν πίστιν ἥν ποτε ἐπόρθει | 1:23 But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed. |
1:24 et in me clarificabant Deum. | 1:24 καὶ ἐδόξαζον ἐν ἐμοὶ τὸν θεόν | 1:24 And they glorified God in me. |
