Ephesians 1:1 Paulus Apostolus Jesu Christi per voluntatem Dei, omnibus sanctis qui sunt Ephesi, et fidelibus in Christo Jesu. Ephesians 1:1 pauloj apostoloj ihsou xristou dia qelhmatoj qeou toij agioij toij ousin en efesw kai pistoij en xristw ihsou Ephesians 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:
1:2 Gratia vobis, et pax a Deo Patre nostro, et Domino Jesu Christo. 1:2 xarij umin kai eirhnh apo qeou patroj hmwn kai kuriou ihsou xristou 1:2 Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
1:3 Benedictus Deus et Pater Domini nostri Jesu Christi, qui benedixit nos in omni benedictione spirituali in cælestibus in Christo, 1:3 euloghtoj o qeoj kai pathr tou kuriou hmwn ihsou xristou o euloghsaj hmaj en pash eulogia pneumatikh en toij epouranioij en xristw 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
1:4 sicut elegit nos in ipso ante mundi constitutionem, ut essemus sancti et immaculati in conspectu ejus in caritate. 1:4 kaqwj ecelecato hmaj en autw pro katabolhj kosmou einai hmaj agiouj kai amwmouj katenwpion autou en agaph 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
1:5 Qui prædestinavit nos in adoptionem filiorum per Jesum Christum in ipsum: secundum propositum voluntatis suæ, 1:5 proorisaj hmaj eij uioqesian dia ihsou xristou eij auton kata thn eudokian tou qelhmatoj autou 1:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
1:6 in laudem gloriæ gratiæ suæ, in qua gratificavit nos in dilecto Filio suo. 1:6 eij epainon dochj thj xaritoj autou en h exaritwsen hmaj en tw hgaphmenw 1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
1:7 In quo habemus redemptionem per sanguinem ejus, remissionem peccatorum secundum divitias gratiæ ejus, 1:7 en w exomen thn apolutrwsin dia tou aimatoj autou thn afesin twn paraptwmatwn kata ton plouton thj xaritoj autou 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
1:8 quæ superabundavit in nobis in omni sapientia et prudentia: 1:8 hj eperisseusen eij hmaj en pash sofia kai fronhsei 1:8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
1:9 ut notum faceret nobis sacramentum voluntatis suæ, secundum beneplacitum ejus, quod proposuit in eo, 1:9 gnwrisaj hmin to musthrion tou qelhmatoj autou kata thn eudokian autou hn proeqeto en autw 1:9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
Ephesians 1:10 in dispensatione plenitudinis temporum, instaurare omnia in Christo, quæ in cælis et quæ in terra sunt, in ipso Ephesians 1:10 eij oikonomian tou plhrwmatoj twn kairwn anakefalaiwsasqai ta panta en tw xristw ta te en toij ouranoij kai ta epi thj ghj Ephesians 1:10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
1:11 in quo etiam et nos sorte vocati sumus prædestinati secundum propositum ejus qui operatur omnia secundum consilium voluntatis suæ: 1:11 en autw en w kai eklhrwqhmen proorisqentej kata proqesin tou ta panta energountoj kata thn boulhn tou qelhmatoj autou 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
1:12 ut simus in laudem gloriæ ejus nos, qui ante speravimus in Christo; 1:12 eij to einai hmaj eij epainon thj dochj autou touj prohlpikotaj en tw xristw 1:12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
1:13 in quo et vos, cum audissetis verbum veritatis, Evangelium salutis vestræ, in quo et credentes signati estis Spiritu promissionis Sancto, 1:13 en w kai umeij akousantej ton logon thj alhqeiaj to euaggelion thj swthriaj umwn en w kai pisteusantej esfragisqhte tw pneumati thj epaggeliaj tw agiw 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
1:14 qui est pignus hæreditatis nostræ, in redemptionem acquisitionis, in laudem gloriæ ipsius. 1:14 oj estin arrabwn thj klhronomiaj hmwn eij apolutrwsin thj peripoihsewj eij epainon thj dochj autou 1:14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
1:15 Propterea et ego audiens fidem vestram, quæ est in Domino Jesu, et dilectionem in omnes sanctos, 1:15 dia touto kagw akousaj thn kaq umaj pistin en tw kuriw ihsou kai thn agaphn thn eij pantaj touj agiouj 1:15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
1:16 non cesso gratias agens pro vobis, memoriam vestri faciens in orationibus meis: 1:16 ou pauomai euxaristwn uper umwn mneian umwn poioumenoj epi twn proseuxwn mou 1:16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
1:17 ut Deus Domini nostri Jesu Christi, Pater gloriæ, det vobis spiritum sapientiæ et revelationis in agnitione ejus, 1:17 ina o qeoj tou kuriou hmwn ihsou xristou o pathr thj dochj dwh umin pneuma sofiaj kai apokaluyewj en epignwsei autou 1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
1:18 illuminatos oculos cordis vestri, ut sciatis quæ sit spes vocationis ejus, et quæ divitiæ gloriæ hæreditatis ejus in sanctis, 1:18 pefwtismenouj touj ofqalmouj thj dianoiaj umwn eij to eidenai umaj tij estin h elpij thj klhsewj autou kai tij o ploutoj thj dochj thj klhronomiaj autou en toij agioij 1:18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
1:19 et quæ sit supereminens magnitudo virtutis ejus in nos, qui credimus secundum operationem potentiæ virtutis ejus, 1:19 kai ti to uperballon megeqoj thj dunamewj autou eij hmaj touj pisteuontaj kata thn energeian tou kratouj thj isxuoj autou 1:19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
Ephesians 1:20 quam operatus est in Christo, suscitans illum a mortuis, et constituens ad dexteram suam in cælestibus: Ephesians 1:20 hn enhrghsen en tw xristw egeiraj auton ek nekrwn kai ekaqisen en decia autou en toij epouranioij Ephesians 1:20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
1:21 supra omnem principatum, et potestatem, et virtutem, et dominationem, et omne nomen, quod nominatur non solum in hoc sæculo, sed etiam in futuro. 1:21 uperanw pashj arxhj kai ecousiaj kai dunamewj kai kuriothtoj kai pantoj onomatoj onomazomenou ou monon en tw aiwni toutw alla kai en tw mellonti 1:21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
1:22 Et omnia subjecit sub pedibus ejus: et ipsum dedit caput supra omnem ecclesiam, 1:22 kai panta upetacen upo touj podaj autou kai auton edwken kefalhn uper panta th ekklhsia 1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
1:23 quæ est corpus ipsius, et plenitudo ejus, qui omnia in omnibus adimpletur. 1:23 htij estin to swma autou to plhrwma tou panta en pasin plhroumenou 1:23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
