Ephesians 2:1 Et vos, cum essetis mortui delictis et peccatis vestris, Ephesians 2:1 kai umaj ontaj nekrouj toij paraptwmasin kai taij amartiaij Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2:2 in quibus aliquando ambulastis secundum sæculum mundi hujus, secundum principem potestatis aëris hujus, spiritus, qui nunc operatur in filios diffidentiæ, 2:2 en aij pote periepathsate kata ton aiwna tou kosmou toutou kata ton arxonta thj ecousiaj tou aeroj tou pneumatoj tou nun energountoj en toij uioij thj apeiqeiaj 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
2:3 in quibus et nos omnes aliquando conversati sumus in desideriis carnis nostræ, facientes voluntatem carnis et cogitationum, et eramus natura filii iræ, sicut et ceteri: 2:3 en oij kai hmeij pantej anestrafhmen pote en taij epiqumiaij thj sarkoj hmwn poiountej ta qelhmata thj sarkoj kai twn dianoiwn kai hmen tekna fusei orghj wj kai oi loipoi 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
2:4 Deus autem, qui dives est in misericordia, propter nimiam caritatem suam, qua dilexit nos, 2:4 o de qeoj plousioj wn en eleei dia thn pollhn agaphn autou hn hgaphsen hmaj 2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
2:5 et cum essemus mortui peccatis, convivificavit nos in Christo (cujus gratia estis salvati), 2:5 kai ontaj hmaj nekrouj toij paraptwmasin sunezwopoihsen tw xristw xariti este seswsmenoi 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
2:6 et conresuscitavit, et consedere fecit in cælestibus in Christo Jesu: 2:6 kai sunhgeiren kai sunekaqisen en toij epouranioij en xristw ihsou 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
2:7 ut ostenderet in sæculis supervenientibus abundantes divitias gratiæ suæ, in bonitate super nos in Christo Jesu. 2:7 ina endeichtai en toij aiwsin toij eperxomenoij ton uperballonta plouton thj xaritoj autou en xrhstothti ef hmaj en xristw ihsou 2:7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
2:8 Gratia enim estis salvati per fidem, et hoc non ex vobis: Dei enim donum est: 2:8 th gar xariti este seswsmenoi dia thj pistewj kai touto ouk ec umwn qeou to dwron 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
2:9 non ex operibus, ut ne quis glorietur. 2:9 ouk ec ergwn ina mh tij kauxhshtai 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Ephesians 2:10 Ipsius enim sumus factura, creati in Christo Jesu in operibus bonis, quæ præparavit Deus ut in illis ambulemus. Ephesians 2:10 autou gar esmen poihma ktisqentej en xristw ihsou epi ergoij agaqoij oij prohtoimasen o qeoj ina en autoij peripathswmen Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
2:11 Propter quod memores estote quod aliquando vos gentes in carne, qui dicimini præputium ab ea quæ dicitur circumcisio in carne, manu facta: 2:11 dio mnhmoneuete oti umeij pote ta eqnh en sarki oi legomenoi akrobustia upo thj legomenhj peritomhj en sarki xeiropoihtou 2:11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
2:12 quia eratis illo in tempore sine Christo, alienati a conversatione Israël, et hospites testamentorum, promissionis spem non habentes, et sine Deo in hoc mundo. 2:12 oti hte en tw kairw ekeinw xwrij xristou aphllotriwmenoi thj politeiaj tou israhl kai cenoi twn diaqhkwn thj epaggeliaj elpida mh exontej kai aqeoi en tw kosmw 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
2:13 Nunc autem in Christo Jesu, vos, qui aliquando eratis longe, facti estis prope in sanguine Christi. 2:13 nuni de en xristw ihsou umeij oi pote ontej makran egguj egenhqhte en tw aimati tou xristou 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
2:14 Ipse enim est pax nostra, qui fecit utraque unum, et medium parietem maceriæ solvens, inimicitias in carne sua, 2:14 autoj gar estin h eirhnh hmwn o poihsaj ta amfotera en kai to mesotoixon tou fragmou lusaj 2:14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
2:15 legem mandatorum decretis evacuans, ut duos condat in semetipso in unum novum hominem, faciens pacem: 2:15 thn exqran en th sarki autou ton nomon twn entolwn en dogmasin katarghsaj ina touj duo ktish en eautw eij ena kainon anqrwpon poiwn eirhnhn 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
2:16 et reconciliet ambos in uno corpore, Deo per crucem, interficiens inimicitias in semetipso. 2:16 kai apokatallach touj amfoterouj en eni swmati tw qew dia tou staurou apokteinaj thn exqran en autw 2:16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
2:17 Et veniens evangelizavit pacem vobis, qui longe fuistis, et pacem iis, qui prope. 2:17 kai elqwn euhggelisato eirhnhn umin toij makran kai toij egguj 2:17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
2:18 Quoniam per ipsum habemus accessum ambo in uno Spiritu ad Patrem. 2:18 oti di autou exomen thn prosagwghn oi amfoteroi en eni pneumati proj ton patera 2:18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
2:19 Ergo jam non estis hospites, et advenæ: sed estis cives sanctorum, et domestici Dei, 2:19 ara oun ouketi este cenoi kai paroikoi alla sumpolitai twn agiwn kai oikeioi tou qeou 2:19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
Ephesians 2:20 superædificati super fundamentum apostolorum, et prophetarum, ipso summo angulari lapide Christo Jesu: Ephesians 2:20 epoikodomhqentej epi tw qemeliw twn apostolwn kai profhtwn ontoj akrogwniaiou autou ihsou xristou Ephesians 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
2:21 in quo omnis ædificatio constructa crescit in templum sanctum in Domino, 2:21 en w pasa h oikodomh sunarmologoumenh aucei eij naon agion en kuriw 2:21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
2:22 in quo et vos coædificamini in habitaculum Dei in Spiritu. 2:22 en w kai umeij sunoikodomeisqe eij katoikhthrion tou qeou en pneumati 2:22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
