EPHESIANS CHAPTER 6

Latin VulgateGreek Textus ReceptusEnglish King James
Ephesians 6:1 Filii, obedite parentibus vestris in Domino: hoc enim justum est. Ephesians 6:1 τὰ τέκνα ὑπακούετε τοῖς γονεῦσιν ὑμῶν ἐν κυρίῳ τοῦτο γάρ ἐστιν δίκαιον Ephesians 6:1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
6:2 Honora patrem tuum, et matrem tuam, quod est mandatum primum in promissione: 6:2 τίμα τὸν πατέρα σου καὶ τὴν μητέρα ἥτις ἐστὶν ἐντολὴ πρώτη ἐν ἐπαγγελίᾳ 6:2 Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)
6:3 ut bene sit tibi, et sis longævus super terram. 6:3 ἵνα εὖ σοι γένηται καὶ ἔσῃ μακροχρόνιος ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς 6:3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
6:4 Et vos patres, nolite ad iracundiam provocare filios vestros: sed educate illos in disciplina et correptione Domini. 6:4 καὶ οἱ πατέρες μὴ παροργίζετε τὰ τέκνα ὑμῶν ἀλλ᾽ ἐκτρέφετε αὐτὰ ἐν παιδείᾳ καὶ νουθεσίᾳ κυρίου 6:4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
6:5 Servi, obedite dominis carnalibus cum timore et tremore, in simplicitate cordis vestri, sicut Christo: 6:5 οἱ δοῦλοι ὑπακούετε τοῖς κυρίοις κατὰ σάρκα μετὰ φόβου καὶ τρόμου ἐν ἁπλότητι τῆς καρδίας ὑμῶν ὡς τῷ χριστῷ 6:5 Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;
6:6 non ad oculum servientes, quasi hominibus placentes, sed ut servi Christi, facientes voluntatem Dei ex animo, 6:6 μὴ κατ᾽ ὀφθαλμοδουλείαν ὡς ἀνθρωπάρεσκοι ἀλλ᾽ ὡς δοῦλοι τοῦ χριστοῦ ποιοῦντες τὸ θέλημα τοῦ θεοῦ ἐκ ψυχῆς 6:6 Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;
6:7 cum bona voluntate servientes, sicut Domino, et non hominibus: 6:7 μετ᾽ εὐνοίας δουλεύοντες τῷ κυρίῳ καὶ οὐκ ἀνθρώποις 6:7 With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:
6:8 scientes quoniam unusquisque quodcumque fecerit bonum, hoc recipiet a Domino, sive servus, sive liber. 6:8 εἰδότες ὅτι ὃ ἐάν τι ἕκαστος ποιήσῃ ἀγαθόν τοῦτο κομιεῖται παρὰ τοῦ κυρίου εἴτε δοῦλος εἴτε ἐλεύθερος 6:8 Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.
6:9 Et vos domini, eadem facite illis, remittentes minas: scientes quia et illorum et vester Dominus est in cælis: et ersonarum acceptio non est apud eum. 6:9 καὶ οἱ κύριοι τὰ αὐτὰ ποιεῖτε πρὸς αὐτούς ἀνιέντες τὴν ἀπειλήν εἰδότες ὅτι καὶ ὑμῶν αὐτῶν ὁ κύριός ἐστιν ἐν οὐρανοῖς καὶ προσωποληψία οὐκ ἔστιν παρ᾽ αὐτῷ 6:9 And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.
Ephesians 6:10 De cetero, fratres, confortamini in Domino, et in potentia virtutis ejus. Ephesians 6:10 τὸ λοιπὸν ἀδελφοί μου ἐνδυναμοῦσθε ἐν κυρίῳ καὶ ἐν τῷ κράτει τῆς ἰσχύος αὐτοῦ Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
6:11 Induite vos armaturam Dei, ut possitis stare adversus insidias diaboli: 6:11 ἐνδύσασθε τὴν πανοπλίαν τοῦ θεοῦ πρὸς τὸ δύνασθαι ὑμᾶς στῆναι πρὸς τὰς μεθοδείας τοῦ διαβόλου 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
6:12 quoniam non est nobis colluctatio adversus carnem et sanguinem, sed adversus principes, et potestates, adversus mundi rectores tenebrarum harum, contra spiritualia nequitiæ, in cælestibus. 6:12 ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν ἡμῖν ἡ πάλη πρὸς αἷμα καὶ σάρκα ἀλλὰ πρὸς τὰς ἀρχάς πρὸς τὰς ἐξουσίας πρὸς τοὺς κοσμοκράτορας τοῦ σκότους τοῦ αἰῶνος τούτου πρὸς τὰ πνευματικὰ τῆς πονηρίας ἐν τοῖς ἐπουρανίοις 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
6:13 Propterea accipite armaturam Dei, ut possitis resistere in die malo, et in omnibus perfecti stare. 6:13 διὰ τοῦτο ἀναλάβετε τὴν πανοπλίαν τοῦ θεοῦ ἵνα δυνηθῆτε ἀντιστῆναι ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ πονηρᾷ καὶ ἅπαντα κατεργασάμενοι στῆναι 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
6:14 State ergo succincti lumbos vestros in veritate, et induti loricam justitiæ, 6:14 στῆτε οὖν περιζωσάμενοι τὴν ὀσφὺν ὑμῶν ἐν ἀληθείᾳ καὶ ἐνδυσάμενοι τὸν θώρακα τῆς δικαιοσύνης 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
6:15 et calceati pedes in præparatione Evangelii pacis, 6:15 καὶ ὑποδησάμενοι τοὺς πόδας ἐν ἑτοιμασίᾳ τοῦ εὐαγγελίου τῆς εἰρήνης 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
6:16 in omnibus sumentes scutum fidei, in quo possitis omnia tela nequissimi ignea extinguere: 6:16 ἐπὶ πᾶσιν ἀναλαβόντες τὸν θυρεὸν τῆς πίστεως ἐν ᾧ δυνήσεσθε πάντα τὰ βέλη τοῦ πονηροῦ τὰ πεπυρωμένα σβέσαι 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
6:17 et galeam salutis assumite, et gladium spiritus (quod est verbum Dei), 6:17 καὶ τὴν περικεφαλαίαν τοῦ σωτηρίου δέξασθε καὶ τὴν μάχαιραν τοῦ πνεύματος ὅ ἐστιν ῥῆμα θεοῦ 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
6:18 per omnem orationem et obsecrationem orantes omni tempore in spiritu: et in ipso vigilantes in omni instantia et obsecratione pro omnibus sanctis: 6:18 διὰ πάσης προσευχῆς καὶ δεήσεως προσευχόμενοι ἐν παντὶ καιρῷ ἐν πνεύματι καὶ εἰς αὐτὸ τοῦτο ἀγρυπνοῦντες ἐν πάσῃ προσκαρτερήσει καὶ δεήσει περὶ πάντων τῶν ἁγίων 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
6:19 et pro me, ut detur mihi sermo in apertione oris mei cum fiducia, notum facere mysterium Evangelii: 6:19 καὶ ὑπὲρ ἐμοῦ ἵνα μοι δοθείη λόγος ἐν ἀνοίξει τοῦ στόματός μου ἐν παῤῥησίᾳ γνωρίσαι τὸ μυστήριον τοῦ εὐαγγελίου 6:19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
Ephesians 6:20 pro quo legatione fungor in catena, ita ut in ipso audeam, prout oportet me loqui. Ephesians 6:20 ὑπὲρ οὗ πρεσβεύω ἐν ἁλύσει ἵνα ἐν αὐτῷ παῤῥησιάσωμαι ὡς δεῖ με λαλῆσαι Ephesians 6:20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
6:21 Ut autem et vos sciatis quæ circa me sunt, quid agam, omnia vobis nota faciet Tychicus, carissimus frater, et fidelis minister in Domino: 6:21 ἵνα δὲ εἰδῆτε καὶ ὑμεῖς τὰ κατ᾽ ἐμέ τί πράσσω πάντα ὑμῖν γνωρίσει τυχικὸς ὁ ἀγαπητὸς ἀδελφὸς καὶ πιστὸς διάκονος ἐν κυρίῳ 6:21 But that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things:
6:22 quem misi ad vos in hoc ipsum, ut cognoscatis quæ circa nos sunt, et consoletur corda vestra. 6:22 ὃν ἔπεμψα πρὸς ὑμᾶς εἰς αὐτὸ τοῦτο ἵνα γνῶτε τὰ περὶ ἡμῶν καὶ παρακαλέσῃ τὰς καρδίας ὑμῶν 6:22 Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.
6:23 Pax fratribus, et caritas cum fide a Deo Patre et Domino Jesu Christo. 6:23 εἰρήνη τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς καὶ ἀγάπη μετὰ πίστεως ἀπὸ θεοῦ πατρὸς καὶ κυρίου ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ 6:23 Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
6:24 Gratia cum omnibus qui diligunt Dominum nostrum Jesum Christum in incorruptione. Amen. 6:24 ἡ χάρις μετὰ πάντων τῶν ἀγαπώντων τὸν κύριον ἡμῶν ἰησοῦν χριστὸν ἐν ἀφθαρσίᾳ ἀμήν 6:24 Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.
