EPHESIANS CHAPTER 3

Latin VulgateGreek Textus ReceptusEnglish King James
Ephesians 3:1 Hujus rei gratia, ego Paulus vinctus Christi Jesu, pro vobis gentibus, Ephesians 3:1 τούτου χάριν ἐγὼ παῦλος ὁ δέσμιος τοῦ χριστοῦ ἰησοῦ ὑπὲρ ὑμῶν τῶν ἐθνῶν Ephesians 3:1 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,
3:2 si tamen audistis dispensationem gratiæ Dei, quæ data est mihi in vobis: 3:2 εἴγε ἠκούσατε τὴν οἰκονομίαν τῆς χάριτος τοῦ θεοῦ τῆς δοθείσης μοι εἰς ὑμᾶς 3:2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:
3:3 quoniam secundum revelationem notum mihi factum est sacramentum, sicut supra scripsi in brevi, 3:3 ὅτι κατὰ ἀποκάλυψιν ἐγνώρισεν μοι τὸ μυστήριον καθὼς προέγραψα ἐν ὀλίγῳ 3:3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,
3:4 prout potestis legentes intelligere prudentiam meam in mysterio Christi: 3:4 πρὸς ὃ δύνασθε ἀναγινώσκοντες νοῆσαι τὴν σύνεσίν μου ἐν τῷ μυστηρίῳ τοῦ χριστοῦ 3:4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)
3:5 quod aliis generationibus non est agnitum filiis hominum, sicuti nunc revelatum est sanctis apostolis ejus et prophetis in Spiritu, 3:5 ὃ ἐν ἑτέραις γενεαῖς οὐκ ἐγνωρίσθη τοῖς υἱοῖς τῶν ἀνθρώπων ὡς νῦν ἀπεκαλύφθη τοῖς ἁγίοις ἀποστόλοις αὐτοῦ καὶ προφήταις ἐν πνεύματι 3:5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;
3:6 gentes esse cohæredes, et concorporales, et comparticipes promissionis ejus in Christo Jesu per Evangelium: 3:6 εἶναι τὰ ἔθνη συγκληρονόμα καὶ σύσσωμα καὶ συμμέτοχα τῆς ἐπαγγελίας αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ χριστῷ διὰ τοῦ εὐαγγελίου 3:6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:
3:7 cujus factus sum minister secundum donum gratiæ Dei, quæ data est mihi secundum operationem virtutis ejus. 3:7 οὗ ἐγενόμην διάκονος κατὰ τὴν δωρεὰν τῆς χάριτος τοῦ θεοῦ τὴν δοθεῖσαν μοι κατὰ τὴν ἐνέργειαν τῆς δυνάμεως αὐτοῦ 3:7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.
3:8 Mihi omnium sanctorum minimo data est gratia hæc, in gentibus evangelizare investigabiles divitias Christi, 3:8 ἐμοὶ τῷ ἐλαχιστοτέρῳ πάντων τῶν ἁγίων ἐδόθη ἡ χάρις αὕτη ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν εὐαγγελίσασθαι τὸν ἀνεξιχνίαστον πλοῦτον τοῦ χριστοῦ 3:8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;
3:9 et illuminare omnes, quæ sit dispensatio sacramenti absconditi a sæculis in Deo, qui omnia creavit: 3:9 καὶ φωτίσαι πάντας τίς ἡ κοινωνία τοῦ μυστηρίου τοῦ ἀποκεκρυμμένου ἀπὸ τῶν αἰώνων ἐν τῷ θεῷ τῷ τὰ πάντα κτίσαντι διὰ ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ 3:9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
Ephesians 3:10 ut innotescat principatibus et potestatibus in cælestibus per Ecclesiam, multiformis sapientia Dei, Ephesians 3:10 ἵνα γνωρισθῇ νῦν ταῖς ἀρχαῖς καὶ ταῖς ἐξουσίαις ἐν τοῖς ἐπουρανίοις διὰ τῆς ἐκκλησίας ἡ πολυποίκιλος σοφία τοῦ θεοῦ Ephesians 3:10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,
3:11 secundum præfinitionem sæculorum, quam fecit in Christo Jesu Domino nostro: 3:11 κατὰ πρόθεσιν τῶν αἰώνων ἣν ἐποίησεν ἐν χριστῷ ἰησοῦ τῷ κυρίῳ ἡμῶν 3:11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:
3:12 in quo habemus fiduciam, et accessum in confidentia per fidem ejus. 3:12 ἐν ᾧ ἔχομεν τὴν παῤῥησίαν καὶ τὴν προσαγωγὴν ἐν πεποιθήσει διὰ τῆς πίστεως αὐτοῦ 3:12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.
3:13 Propter quod peto ne deficiatis in tribulationibus meis pro vobis: quæ est gloria vestra. 3:13 διὸ αἰτοῦμαι μὴ ἐκκακεῖν ἐν ταῖς θλίψεσίν μου ὑπὲρ ὑμῶν ἥτις ἐστὶν δόξα ὑμῶν 3:13 Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.
3:14 Hujus rei gratia flecto genua mea ad Patrem Domini nostri Jesu Christi, 3:14 τούτου χάριν κάμπτω τὰ γόνατά μου πρὸς τὸν πατέρα τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ 3:14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
3:15 ex quo omnis paternitas in cælis et in terra nominatur, 3:15 ἐξ οὗ πᾶσα πατριὰ ἐν οὐρανοῖς καὶ ἐπὶ γῆς ὀνομάζεται 3:15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
3:16 ut det vobis secundum divitias gloriæ suæ, virtute corroborari per Spiritum ejus in interiorem hominem, 3:16 ἵνα δῴη ὑμῖν κατὰ τὸν πλοῦτον τῆς δόξης αὐτοῦ δυνάμει κραταιωθῆναι διὰ τοῦ πνεύματος αὐτοῦ εἰς τὸν ἔσω ἄνθρωπον 3:16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
3:17 Christum habitare per fidem in cordibus vestris: in caritate radicati, et fundati, 3:17 κατοικῆσαι τὸν χριστὸν διὰ τῆς πίστεως ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις ὑμῶν ἐν ἀγάπῃ ἐῤῥιζωμένοι καὶ τεθεμελιωμένοι 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
3:18 ut possitis comprehendere cum omnibus sanctis, quæ sit latitudo, et longitudo, et sublimitas, et profundum: 3:18 ἵνα ἐξισχύσητε καταλαβέσθαι σὺν πᾶσιν τοῖς ἁγίοις τί τὸ πλάτος καὶ μῆκος καὶ βάθος καὶ ὕψος 3:18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
3:19 scire etiam supereminentem scientiæ caritatem Christi, ut impleamini in omnem plenitudinem Dei. 3:19 γνῶναί τε τὴν ὑπερβάλλουσαν τῆς γνώσεως ἀγάπην τοῦ χριστοῦ ἵνα πληρωθῆτε εἰς πᾶν τὸ πλήρωμα τοῦ θεοῦ 3:19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
Ephesians 3:20 Ei autem, qui potens est omnia facere superabundanter quam petimus aut intelligimus, secundum virtutem, quæ operatur in nobis: Ephesians 3:20 τῷ δὲ δυναμένῳ ὑπὲρ πάντα ποιῆσαι ὑπὲρ ἐκ περισσοῦ ὧν αἰτούμεθα ἢ νοοῦμεν κατὰ τὴν δύναμιν τὴν ἐνεργουμένην ἐν ἡμῖν Ephesians 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
3:21 ipsi gloria in Ecclesia, et in Christo Jesu, in omnes generationes sæculi sæculorum. Amen. 3:21 αὐτῷ ἡ δόξα ἐν τῇ ἐκκλησίᾳ ἐν χριστῷ ἰησοῦ εἰς πάσας τὰς γενεὰς τοῦ αἰῶνος τῶν αἰώνων ἀμήν 3:21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
