Introduction 1.1

This is a bible study about the meaning of the Hebrew word שָׂטָן, 'satan' translated 'Satan' in the Old Testament, and gives every verse where the Hebrew word "satan" appears. To obtain a true understanding of this word these scriptures need to be meditated on and notes made of their meaning in different contexts. This requires putting scriptures together where they seem to have a similar meaning, and then meditating even more. The truth will be revealed by the Holy Spirit, who has been given to guide us into all truth (John 16:13). Wherever this word satan appears in the Hebrew, the translation of it is highlighted with yellow. 2:5 But put out your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse you to your face.
2:6 And Yahweh said to Satan, Behold, he is in your hand; but save his life.
2:7 So went Satan forth from the presence of Yahweh, and struck Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot to his crown.

Psalm 109:6 Set a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand.

Zechariah 3:1 And he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of Yahweh, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.
3:2 And Yahweh said to Satan, Yahweh rebuke you, O Satan; even Yahweh who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?
