Whose
Wisdom
Do You
Use?
God says in the bible, "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." (James 1v5). This is godly wisdom, which comes from an all knowing, all powerful, ever-present God who created the heaven and earth in six days.
But where are people going for wisdom these days? Many have turned away from God and gone to the occult (which means "hidden") and some of these are:
Astrology (star signs), Claivonancy, Divination, ESP, Fortune telling, Hypnotism, Magic, Ouija boards, Palm reading, Psychic, Spiritualism and mediums, Tarot cards, Telepathy, Witchcraft, Yoga. (There are others)
These will all offer you some kind of wisdom, and may demonstrate some kind of supernatural power, but their source is not from God, it is from the Devil, Satan.

The sad thing is this, that if you have already practiced, or even been to one of these sources for information, or even been in the company of someone who has been doing them, then you have put yourself far from God, as it is written,
"For all who do these things are an abomination to the LORD." (Deuteronomy 18:12), before which some of them are listed. You may also have opened a door for Satan to come into your life and oppress you. If you suffer from depression, irresponsibility, unpredictable behaviour, any uncontrollable desires, sexual perversion, enslavement to drugs, alcohol, or tobacco, blasphemous thoughts against God, or Jesus, bad physical ailments that do not respond treatment, marital or parental problems. These are evidences of occult oppression although some may stem from other causes.

Worst of all, as you have sinned against God you have had your name blotted out of the book of life and made hell your eternal destination:

(Revelation 20v15) "And whoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."

The good news is that there is deliverance and salvation available to you through Jesus Christ. When he died on the cross he made a way out for you:
"He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities." (Isaiah 53:5)
"His own self bore our sins in his own body on the tree." (1 Peter 2:24).
When you receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour you can obtain forgiveness and freedom from oppression:
"And you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free." (John 8:32).
"If the Son therefore shall make you free, you will be free indeed." (John 8:36).

Dear reader, God loves you despite your sin, and he wants to forgive you and set you free, please heed his call and turn to him today, and let him transform your life.
