HEBREWS CHAPTER 10

Latin VulgateGreek Textus ReceptusEnglish King James
Hebrews 10:1 Umbram enim habens lex futurorum bonorum, non ipsam imaginem rerum: per singulos annos, eisdem ipsis hostiis quas offerunt indesinenter, numquam potest accedentes perfectos facere: Hebrews 10:1 skian gar exwn o nomoj twn mellontwn agaqwn ouk authn thn eikona twn pragmatwn kat eniauton taij autaij qusiaij aj prosferousin eij to dihnekej oudepote dunatai touj proserxomenouj teleiwsai Hebrews 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
10:2 alioquin cessassent offerri: ideo quod nullam haberent ultra conscientiam peccati, cultores semel mundati: 10:2 epei ouk an epausanto prosferomenai dia to mhdemian exein eti suneidhsin amartiwn touj latreuontaj apac kekaqarmenouj 10:2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
10:3 sed in ipsis commemoratio peccatorum per singulos annos fit. 10:3 all en autaij anamnhsij amartiwn kat eniauton 10:3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
10:4 Impossibile enim est sanguine taurorum et hircorum auferri peccata. 10:4 adunaton gar aima taurwn kai tragwn afairein amartiaj 10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
10:5 Ideo ingrediens mundum dicit: Hostiam et oblationem noluisti: corpus autem aptasti mihi: 10:5 dio eiserxomenoj eij ton kosmon legei qusian kai prosforan ouk hqelhsaj swma de kathrtisw moi 10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
10:6 holocautomata pro peccato non tibi placuerunt. 10:6 olokautwmata kai peri amartiaj ouk eudokhsaj 10:6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.
10:7 Tunc dixi: Ecce venio: in capite libri scriptum est de me: Ut faciam, Deus, voluntatem tuam. 10:7 tote eipon idou hkw en kefalidi bibliou gegraptai peri emou tou poihsai o qeoj to qelhma sou 10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
10:8 Superius dicens: Quia hostias, et oblationes, et holocautomata pro peccato noluisti, nec placita sunt tibi, quæ secundum legem offeruntur, 10:8 anwteron legwn oti qusian kai prosforan kai olokautwmata kai peri amartiaj ouk hqelhsaj oude eudokhsaj aitinej kata ton nomon prosferontai 10:8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;
10:9 tunc dixi: Ecce venio, ut faciam, Deus, voluntatem tuam: aufert primum, ut sequens statuat. 10:9 tote eirhken idou hkw tou poihsai o qeoj to qelhma sou anairei to prwton ina to deuteron sthsh 10:9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

10:11 Et omnis quidem sacerdos præsto est quotidie ministrans, et easdem sæpe offerens hostias, quæ numquam possunt auferre peccata: 10:11 kai paj men iereuj esthken kaq hmeran leitourgwn kai taj autaj pollakij prosferwn qusiaj aitinej oudepote dunantai perielein amartiaj 10:11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

10:14 Una enim oblatione, consummavit in sempiternum sanctificatos. 10:14 mia gar prosfora teteleiwken eij to dihnekej touj agiazomenouj 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
10:15 Contestatur autem nos et Spiritus Sanctus. Postquam enim dixit: 10:15 marturei de hmin kai to pneuma to agion meta gar to proeirhkenai 10:15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,
10:16 Hoc autem testamentum, quod testabor ad illos post dies illos, dicit Dominus, dando leges meas in cordibus eorum, et in mentibus eorum superscribam eas: 10:16 auth h diaqhkh hn diaqhsomai proj autouj meta taj hmeraj ekeinaj legei kurioj didouj nomouj mou epi kardiaj autwn kai epi twn dianoiwn autwn epigrayw autouj 10:16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
