Romans 2:1 Propter quod inexcusabilis es, o homo omnis qui judicas. In quo enim judicas alterum, teipsum condemnas: eadem enim agis quæ judicas. Romans 2:1 dio anapologhtoj ei w anqrwpe paj o krinwn en w gar krineij ton eteron seauton katakrineij ta gar auta prasseij o krinwn Romans 2:1 Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.
2:2 Scimus enim quoniam judicium Dei est secundum veritatem in eos qui talia agunt. 2:2 oidamen de oti to krima tou qeou estin kata alhqeian epi touj ta toiauta prassontaj 2:2 But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.
2:3 Existimas autem hoc, o homo, qui judicas eos qui talia agunt, et facis ea, quia tu effugies judicium Dei? 2:3 logizh de touto w anqrwpe o krinwn touj ta toiauta prassontaj kai poiwn auta oti su ekfeuch to krima tou qeou 2:3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?
2:4 an divitias bonitatis ejus, et patientiæ, et longanimitatis contemnis? ignoras quoniam benignitas Dei ad pœnitentiam te adducit? 2:4 h tou ploutou thj xrhstothtoj autou kai thj anoxhj kai thj makroqumiaj katafroneij agnown oti to xrhston tou qeou eij metanoian se agei 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
2:5 Secundum autem duritiam tuam, et impœnitens cor, thesaurizas tibi iram in die iræ, et revelationis justi judicii Dei, 2:5 kata de thn sklhrothta sou kai ametanohton kardian qhsaurizeij seautw orghn en hmera orghj kai apokaluyewj dikaiokrisiaj tou qeou 2:5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
2:6 qui reddet unicuique secundum opera ejus: 2:6 oj apodwsei ekastw kata ta erga autou 2:6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
2:7 iis quidem qui secundum patientiam boni operis, gloriam, et honorem, et incorruptionem quærunt, vitam æternam: 2:7 toij men kaq upomonhn ergou agaqou docan kai timhn kai afqarsian zhtousin zwhn aiwnion 2:7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
2:8 iis autem qui sunt ex contentione, et qui non acquiescunt veritati, credunt autem iniquitati, ira et indignatio. 2:8 toij de ec eriqeiaj kai apeiqousin men th alhqeia peiqomenoij de th adikia qumoj kai orgh 2:8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
2:9 Tribulatio et angustia in omnem animam hominis operantis malum, Judæi primum, et Græci: 2:9 qliyij kai stenoxwria epi pasan yuxhn anqrwpou tou katergazomenou to kakon ioudaiou te prwton kai ellhnoj 2:9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
Romans 2:10 gloria autem, et honor, et pax omni operanti bonum, Judæo primum, et Græco: Romans 2:10 doca de kai timh kai eirhnh panti tw ergazomenw to agaqon ioudaiw te prwton kai ellhni Romans 2:10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:
2:11 non enim est acceptio personarum apud Deum. 2:11 ou gar estin proswpolhyia para tw qew 2:11 For there is no respect of persons with God.
2:12 Quicumque enim sine lege peccaverunt, sine lege peribunt: et quicumque in lege peccaverunt, per legem judicabuntur. 2:12 osoi gar anomwj hmarton anomwj kai apolountai kai osoi en nomw hmarton dia nomou kriqhsontai 2:12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;
2:13 Non enim auditores legis justi sunt apud Deum, sed factores legis justificabuntur. 2:13 ou gar oi akroatai tou nomou dikaioi para tw qew all oi poihtai tou nomou dikaiwqhsontai 2:13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
2:14 Cum autem gentes, quæ legem non habent, naturaliter ea, quæ legis sunt, faciunt, ejusmodi legem non habentes, ipsi sibi sunt lex: 2:14 otan gar eqnh ta mh nomon exonta fusei ta tou nomou poih outoi nomon mh exontej eautoij eisin nomoj 2:14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
2:15 qui ostendunt opus legis scriptum in cordibus suis, testimonium reddente illis conscientia ipsorum, et inter se invicem cogitationibus accusantibus, aut etiam defendentibus, 2:15 oitinej endeiknuntai to ergon tou nomou grapton en taij kardiaij autwn summarturoushj autwn thj suneidhsewj kai metacu allhlwn twn logismwn kathgorountwn h kai apologoumenwn 2:15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)
2:16 in die, cum judicabit Deus occulta hominum, secundum Evangelium meum per Jesum Christum. 2:16 en hmera ote krinei o qeoj ta krupta twn anqrwpwn kata to euaggelion mou dia ihsou xristou 2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
2:17 Si autem tu Judæus cognominaris, et requiescis in lege, et gloriaris in Deo, 2:17 ide su ioudaioj eponomazh kai epanapauh tw nomw kai kauxasai en qew 2:17 Behold, thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law, and makest thy boast of God,
2:18 et nosti voluntatem ejus, et probas utiliora, instructus per legem, 2:18 kai ginwskeij to qelhma kai dokimazeij ta diaferonta kathxoumenoj ek tou nomou 2:18 And knowest his will, and approvest the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law;
2:19 confidis teipsum esse ducem cæcorum, lumen eorum qui in tenebris sunt, 2:19 pepoiqaj te seauton odhgon einai tuflwn fwj twn en skotei 2:19 And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness,
Romans 2:20 eruditorem insipientium, magistrum infantium, habentem formam scientiæ, et veritatis in lege. Romans 2:20 paideuthn afronwn didaskalon nhpiwn exonta thn morfwsin thj gnwsewj kai thj alhqeiaj en tw nomw Romans 2:20 An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law.
2:21 Qui ergo alium doces, teipsum non doces: qui prædicas non furandum, furaris: 2:21 o oun didaskwn eteron seauton ou didaskeij o khrusswn mh kleptein klepteij 2:21 Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?
2:22 qui dicis non mœchandum, mœcharis: qui abominaris idola, sacrilegium facis: 2:22 o legwn mh moixeuein moixeueij o bdelussomenoj ta eidwla ierosuleij 2:22 Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?
2:23 qui in lege gloriaris, per prævaricationem legis Deum inhonoras. 2:23 oj en nomw kauxasai dia thj parabasewj tou nomou ton qeon atimazeij 2:23 Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God?
2:24 (Nomen enim Dei per vos blasphematur inter gentes, sicut scriptum est.) 2:24 to gar onoma tou qeou di umaj blasfhmeitai en toij eqnesin kaqwj gegraptai 2:24 For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written.
2:25 Circumcisio quidem prodest, si legem observes: si autem prævaricator legis sis, circumcisio tua præputium facta est. 2:25 peritomh men gar wfelei ean nomon prasshj ean de parabathj nomou hj h peritomh sou akrobustia gegonen 2:25 For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision.
2:26 Si igitur præputium justitias legis custodiat, nonne præputium illius in circumcisionem reputabitur? 2:26 ean oun h akrobustia ta dikaiwmata tou nomou fulassh ouxi h akrobustia autou eij peritomhn logisqhsetai 2:26 Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?
2:27 et judicabit id quod ex natura est præputium, legem consummans, te, qui per litteram et circumcisionem prævaricator legis es? 2:27 kai krinei h ek fusewj akrobustia ton nomon telousa se ton dia grammatoj kai peritomhj parabathn nomou 2:27 And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law?
2:28 Non enim qui in manifesto, Judæus est: neque quæ in manifesto, in carne, est circumcisio: 2:28 ou gar o en tw fanerw ioudaioj estin oude h en tw fanerw en sarki peritomh 2:28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
2:29 sed qui in abscondito, Judæus est: et circumcisio cordis in spiritu, non littera: cujus laus non ex hominibus, sed ex Deo est. 2:29 all o en tw kruptw ioudaioj kai peritomh kardiaj en pneumati ou grammati ou o epainoj ouk ec anqrwpwn all ek tou qeou 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
