ROMANS CHAPTER 15

Romans 15:1 Debemus autem nos firmiores imbecillitates infirmorum sustinere, et non nobis placere. Romans 15:1 ofeilomen de hmeij oi dunatoi ta asqenhmata twn adunatwn bastazein kai mh eautoij areskein Romans 15:1 We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
15:2 Unusquisque vestrum proximo suo placeat in bonum, ad ædificationem. 15:2 ekastoj gar hmwn tw plhsion aresketw eij to agaqon proj oikodomhn 15:2 Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.
15:3 Etenim Christus non sibi placuit, sed sicut scriptum est: Improperia improperantium tibi ceciderunt super me. 15:3 kai gar o xristoj oux eautw hresen alla kaqwj gegraptai oi oneidismoi twn oneidizontwn se epepeson ep eme 15:3 For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.
15:4 Quæcumque enim scripta sunt, ad nostram doctrinam scripta sunt: ut per patientiam, et consolationem Scripturarum, spem habeamus. 15:4 osa gar proegrafh eij thn hmeteran didaskalian proegrafh ina dia thj upomonhj kai thj paraklhsewj twn grafwn thn elpida exwmen 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
15:5 Deus autem patientiæ et solatii det vobis idipsum sapere in alterutrum secundum Jesum Christum: 15:5 o de qeoj thj upomonhj kai thj paraklhsewj dwh umin to auto fronein en allhloij kata xriston ihsoun 15:5 Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:
15:6 ut unanimes, uno ore honorificetis Deum et patrem Domini nostri Jesu Christi. 15:6 ina omoqumadon en eni stomati docazhte ton qeon kai patera tou kuriou hmwn ihsou xristou 15:6 That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15:7 Propter quod suscipite invicem, sicut et Christus suscepit vos in honorem Dei. 15:7 dio proslambanesqe allhlouj kaqwj kai o xristoj proselabeto hmaj eij docan qeou 15:7 Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.
15:8 Dico enim Christum Jesum ministrum fuisse circumcisionis propter veritatem Dei, ad confirmandas promissiones patrum: 15:8 legw de ihsoun xriston diakonon gegenhsqai peritomhj uper alhqeiaj qeou eij to bebaiwsai taj epaggeliaj twn paterwn 15:8 Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:
15:9 gentes autem super misericordia honorare Deum, sicut scriptum est: Propterea confitebor tibi in gentibus, Domine, et nomini tuo cantabo. 15:9 ta de eqnh uper eleouj docasai ton qeon kaqwj gegraptai dia touto ecomologhsomai soi en eqnesin kai tw onomati sou yalw 15:9 And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.
Romans 15:10 Et iterum dicit: Lætamini gentes cum plebe ejus. Romans 15:10 kai palin legei eufranqhte eqnh meta tou laou autou Romans 15:10 And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people.
15:11 Et iterum: Laudate omnes gentes Dominum: et magnificate eum omnes populi. 15:11 kai palin aineite ton kurion panta ta eqnh kai epainesate auton pantej oi laoi 15:11 And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people.
15:12 Et rursus Isaias ait: Erit radix Jesse, et qui exsurget regere gentes, in eum gentes sperabunt. 15:12 kai palin hsaiaj legei estai h riza tou iessai kai o anistamenoj arxein eqnwn ep autw eqnh elpiousin 15:12 And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.
15:13 Deus autem spei repleat vos omni gaudio, et pace in credendo: ut abundetis in spe, et virtute Spiritus Sancti. 15:13 o de qeoj thj elpidoj plhrwsai umaj pashj xaraj kai eirhnhj en tw pisteuein eij to perisseuein umaj en th elpidi en dunamei pneumatoj agiou 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
15:14 Certus sum autem fratres mei et ego ipse de vobis, quoniam et ipsi pleni estis dilectione, repleti omni scientia, ita ut possitis alterutrum monere. 15:14 pepeismai de adelfoi mou kai autoj egw peri umwn oti kai autoi mestoi este agaqwsunhj peplhrwmenoi pashj gnwsewj dunamenoi kai allhlouj nouqetein 15:14 And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.
15:15 Audacius autem scripsi vobis fratres ex parte, tamquam in memoriam vos reducens: propter gratiam, quæ data est mihi a Deo, 15:15 tolmhroteron de egraya umin adelfoi apo merouj wj epanamimnhskwn umaj dia thn xarin thn doqeisan moi upo tou qeou 15:15 Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God,
15:16 ut sim minister Christi Jesu in gentibus: sanctificans Evangelium Dei, ut fiat oblatio gentium accepta, et sanctificata in Spiritu Sancto. 15:16 eij to einai me leitourgon ihsou xristou eij ta eqnh ierourgounta to euaggelion tou qeou ina genhtai h prosfora twn eqnwn euprosdektoj hgiasmenh en pneumati agiw 15:16 That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.
15:17 Habeo igitur gloriam in Christo Jesu ad Deum. 15:17 exw oun kauxhsin en xristw ihsou ta proj qeon 15:17 I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God.
15:18 Non enim audeo aliquid loqui eorum, quæ per me non efficit Christus in obedientiam gentium, verbo et factis: 15:18 ou gar tolmhsw lalein ti wn ou kateirgasato xristoj di emou eij upakohn eqnwn logw kai ergw 15:18 For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed,
15:19 in virtute signorum, et prodigiorum, in virtute Spiritus Sancti: ita ut ab Jerusalem per circuitum usque ad Illyricum repleverim Evangelium Christi. 15:19 en dunamei shmeiwn kai teratwn en dunamei pneumatoj qeou wste me apo ierousalhm kai kuklw mexri tou illurikou peplhrwkenai to euaggelion tou xristou 15:19 Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.
Romans 15:20 Sic autem prædicavi Evangelium hoc, non ubi nominatus est Christus, ne super alienum fundamentum ædificarem: Romans 15:20 outwj de filotimoumenon euaggelizesqai oux opou wnomasqh xristoj ina mh ep allotrion qemelion oikodomw Romans 15:20 Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation:
15:21 sed sicut scriptum est: Quibus non est annuntiatum de eo, videbunt: et qui non audierunt, intelligent. 15:21 alla kaqwj gegraptai oij ouk anhggelh peri autou oyontai kai oi ouk akhkoasin sunhsousin 15:21 But as it is written, To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see: and they that have not heard shall understand.
15:22 Propter quod et impediebar plurimum venire ad vos, et prohibitus sum usque adhuc. 15:22 dio kai enekoptomhn ta polla tou elqein proj umaj 15:22 For which cause also I have been much hindered from coming to you.
15:23 Nunc vero ulterius locum non habens in his regionibus, cupiditatem autem habens veniendi ad vos ex multis jam præcedentibus annis: 15:23 nuni de mhketi topon exwn en toij klimasin toutoij epipoqian de exwn tou elqein proj umaj apo pollwn etwn 15:23 But now having no more place in these parts, and having a great desire these many years to come unto you;
15:24 cum in Hispaniam proficisci cœpero, spero quod præteriens videam vos, et a vobis deducar illuc, si vobis primum ex parte fruitus fuero. 15:24 wj ean poreuwmai eij thn spanian eleusomai proj umaj elpizw gar diaporeuomenoj qeasasqai umaj kai uf umwn propemfqhnai ekei ean umwn prwton apo merouj emplhsqw 15:24 Whensoever I take my journey into Spain, I will come to you: for I trust to see you in my journey, and to be brought on my way thitherward by you, if first I be somewhat filled with your company.
15:25 Nunc igitur proficiscar in Jerusalem ministrare sanctis. 15:25 nuni de poreuomai eij ierousalhm diakonwn toij agioij 15:25 But now I go unto Jerusalem to minister unto the saints.
15:26 Probaverunt enim Macedonia et Achaia collationem aliquam facere in pauperes sanctorum, qui sunt in Jerusalem. 15:26 eudokhsan gar makedonia kai axaia koinwnian tina poihsasqai eij touj ptwxouj twn agiwn twn en ierousalhm 15:26 For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints which are at Jerusalem.
15:27 Placuit enim eis: et debitores sunt eorum. Nam si spiritualium eorum participes facti sunt gentiles, debent et in carnalibus ministrare illis. 15:27 eudokhsan gar kai ofeiletai autwn eisin ei gar toij pneumatikoij autwn ekoinwnhsan ta eqnh ofeilousin kai en toij sarkikoij leitourghsai autoij 15:27 It hath pleased them verily; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them in carnal things.
15:28 Hoc igitur cum consummavero, et assignavero eis fructum hunc, per vos proficiscar in Hispaniam. 15:28 touto oun epitelesaj kai sfragisamenoj autoij ton karpon touton apeleusomai di umwn eij thn spanian 15:28 When therefore I have performed this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will come by you into Spain.
15:29 Scio autem quoniam veniens ad vos, in abundantia benedictionis Evangelii Christi veniam. 15:29 oida de oti erxomenoj proj umaj en plhrwmati eulogiaj tou euaggeliou tou xristou eleusomai 15:29 And I am sure that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.
Romans 15:30 Obsecro ergo vos fratres per Dominum nostrum Jesum Christum, et per caritatem Sancti Spiritus, ut adjuvetis me in orationibus vestris pro me ad Deum, Romans 15:30 parakalw de umaj adelfoi dia tou kuriou hmwn ihsou xristou kai dia thj agaphj tou pneumatoj sunagwnisasqai moi en taij proseuxaij uper emou proj ton qeon Romans 15:30 Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;
15:31 ut liberer ab infidelibus, qui sunt in Judæa, et obsequii mei oblatio accepta fiat in Jerusalem sanctis, 15:31 ina rusqw apo twn apeiqountwn en th ioudaia kai ina h diakonia mou h eij ierousalhm euprosdektoj genhtai toij agioij 15:31 That I may be delivered from them that do not believe in Judaea; and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be accepted of the saints;
15:32 ut veniam ad vos in gaudio per voluntatem Dei, et refrigerer vobiscum. 15:32 ina en xara elqw proj umaj dia qelhmatoj qeou kai sunanapauswmai umin 15:32 That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed.
15:33 Deus autem pacis sit cum omnibus vobis. Amen. 15:33 o de qeoj thj eirhnhj meta pantwn umwn amhn 15:33 Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.
