ROMANS CHAPTER 10

Latin VulgateGreek Textus ReceptusEnglish King James
Romans 10:1 adelfoi h men eudokia thj emhj kardiaj kai h dehsij h proj ton qeon uper tou israhl estin eij swthrian Romans 10:1 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
10:2 marturw gar autoij oti zhlon qeou exousin all ou kat epignwsin 10:2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
10:3 agnoountej gar thn tou qeou dikaiosunhn kai thn idian dikaiosunhn zhtountej sthsai th dikaiosunh tou qeou oux upetaghsan 10:3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
10:4 teloj gar nomou xristoj eij dikaiosunhn panti tw pisteuonti 10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
10:5 Moyses enim scripsit, quoniam justitiam, quæ ex lege est, qui fecerit homo, vivet in ea. 10:5 mwshj gar grafei thn dikaiosunhn thn ek tou nomou oti o poihsaj auta anqrwpoj zhsetai en autoij 10:5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
10:6 Quæ autem ex fide est justitia, sic dicit: Ne dixeris in corde tuo: Qui ascendet in cælum? id est, Christum deducere: 10:6 h de ek pistewj dikaiosunh outwj legei mh eiphj en th kardia sou tij anabhsetai eij ton ouranon tout estin xriston katagagein 10:6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)
10:7 h tij katabhsetai eij thn abusson tout estin xriston ek nekrwn anagagein 10:7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
10:8 Sed quid dicit Scriptura? Prope est verbum in ore tuo, et in corde tuo: hoc est verbum fidei, quod prædicamus. 10:8 alla ti legei egguj sou to rhma estin en tw stomati sou kai en th kardia sou tout estin to rhma thj pistewj o khrussomen 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
10:9 Quia si confitearis in ore tuo Dominum Jesum, et in corde tuo credideris quod Deus illum suscitavit a mortuis, salvus eris. 10:9 oti ean omologhshj en tw stomati sou kurion ihsoun kai pisteushj en th kardia sou oti o qeoj auton hgeiren ek nekrwn swqhsh 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Romans 10:10 kardia gar pisteuetai eij dikaiosunhn stomati de omologeitai eij swthrian Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
10:11 legei gar h grafh paj o pisteuwn ep autw ou kataisxunqhsetai 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
10:12 ou gar estin diastolh ioudaiou te kai ellhnoj o gar autoj kurioj pantwn ploutwn eij pantaj touj epikaloumenouj auton 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
10:13 Omnis enim quicumque invocaverit nomen Domini, salvus erit. 10:13 paj gar oj an epikaleshtai to onoma kuriou swqhsetai 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
10:14 pwj oun epikalesontai eij on ouk episteusan pwj de pisteusousin ou ouk hkousan pwj de akousousin xwrij khrussontoj 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
10:15 quomodo vero prædicabunt nisi mittantur? sicut scriptum est: Quam speciosi pedes evangelizantium pacem, evangelizantium bona! 10:15 pwj de khrucousin ean mh apostalwsin kaqwj gegraptai wj wraioi oi podej twn euaggelizomenwn eirhnhn twn euaggelizomenwn ta agaqa 10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
10:16 Sed non omnes obediunt Evangelio. Isaias enim dicit: Domine, quis credidit auditui nostro? 10:16 all ou pantej uphkousan tw euaggeliw hsaiaj gar legei kurie tij episteusen th akoh hmwn 10:16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
10:17 ara h pistij ec akohj h de akoh dia rhmatoj qeou 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
10:18 Sed dico: Numquid non audierunt? Et quidem in omnem terram exivit sonus eorum, et in fines orbis terræ verba eorum. 10:18 alla legw mh ouk hkousan menounge eij pasan thn ghn echlqen o fqoggoj autwn kai eij ta perata thj oikoumenhj ta rhmata autwn 10:18 But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.
10:19 Sed dico: Numquid Israël non cognovit? Primus Moyses dicit: Ego ad æmulationem vos adducam in non gentem: in gentem insipientem, in iram vos mittam. 10:19 alla legw mh ouk egnw israhl prwtoj mwshj legei egw parazhlwsw umaj ep ouk eqnei epi eqnei asunetw parorgiw umaj 10:19 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.
Romans 10:20 Isaias autem audet, et dicit: Inventus sum a non quærentibus me: palam apparui iis qui me non interrogabant. Romans 10:20 hsaiaj de apotolma kai legei eureqhn toij eme mh zhtousin emfanhj egenomhn toij eme mh eperwtwsin Romans 10:20 But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.
10:21 proj de ton israhl legei olhn thn hmeran ecepetasa taj xeiraj mou proj laon apeiqounta kai antilegonta 10:21 But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.
