Romans Chapter 11

Rom 11:1 legw oun mh apwsato o qeoj ton laon autou mh genoito kai gar egw israhlithj eimi ek spermatoj abraam fulhj beniamin Romans 11:1 I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
11:2 ouk apwsato o qeoj ton laon autou on proegnw h ouk oidate en hlia ti legei h grafh wj entugxanei tw qew kata tou israhl legwn 11:2 God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,
11:3 kurie touj profhtaj sou apekteinan kai ta qusiasthria sou kateskayan kagw upeleifqhn monoj kai zhtousin thn yuxhn mou 11:3 Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.
11:4 alla ti legei autw o xrhmatismoj katelipon emautw eptakisxiliouj andraj oitinej ouk ekamyan gonu th baal 11:4 But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.
11:5 outwj oun kai en tw nun kairw leimma kat ekloghn xaritoj gegonen 11:5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
11:6 ei de xariti ouketi ec ergwn epei h xarij ouketi ginetai xarij ei de ec ergwn ouketi estin xarij epei to ergon ouketi estin ergon 11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
11:7 ti oun o epizhtei israhl toutou ouk epetuxen h de eklogh epetuxen oi de loipoi epwrwqhsan 11:7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded
11:8 kaqwj gegraptai edwken autoij o qeoj pneuma katanucewj ofqalmouj tou mh blepein kai wta tou mh akouein ewj thj shmeron hmeraj 11:8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.
11:9 kai dabid legei genhqhtw h trapeza autwn eij pagida kai eij qhran kai eij skandalon kai eij antapodoma autoij 11:9 And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them:
Rom 11:10 skotisqhtwsan oi ofqalmoi autwn tou mh blepein kai ton nwton autwn diapantoj sugkamyon Romans 11:10 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway.
11:11 legw oun mh eptaisan ina peswsin mh genoito alla tw autwn paraptwmati h swthria toij eqnesin eij to parazhlwsai autouj 11:11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
11:12 ei de to paraptwma autwn ploutoj kosmou kai to htthma autwn ploutoj eqnwn posw mallon to plhrwma autwn 11:12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?
11:13 umin gar legw toij eqnesin ef oson men eimi egw eqnwn apostoloj thn diakonian mou docazw 11:13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:
11:14 ei pwj parazhlwsw mou thn sarka kai swsw tinaj ec autwn 11:14 If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.
11:15 ei gar h apobolh autwn katallagh kosmou tij h proslhyij ei mh zwh ek nekrwn 11:15 For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
11:16 ei de h aparxh agia kai to furama kai ei h riza agia kai oi kladoi 11:16 For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
11:17 ei de tinej twn kladwn eceklasqhsan su de agrielaioj wn enekentrisqhj en autoij kai sugkoinwnoj thj rizhj kai thj piothtoj thj elaiaj egenou 11:17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
11:18 mh katakauxw twn kladwn ei de katakauxasai ou su thn rizan bastazeij all h riza se 11:18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
11:19 ereij oun eceklasqhsan oi kladoi ina egw egkentrisqw 11:19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.
Rom 11:20 kalwj th apistia eceklasqhsan su de th pistei esthkaj mh uyhlofronei alla fobou Romans 11:20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
11:21 ei gar o qeoj twn kata fusin kladwn ouk efeisato mhpwj oude sou feishtai 11:21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
11:22 ide oun xrhstothta kai apotomian qeou epi men touj pesontaj apotomian epi de se xrhstothta ean epimeinhj th xrhstothti epei kai su ekkophsh 11:22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
11:23 kai ekeinoi de ean mh epimeinwsin th apistia egkentrisqhsontai dunatoj gar estin o qeoj palin egkentrisai autouj 11:23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.
11:24 ei gar su ek thj kata fusin ecekophj agrielaiou kai para fusin enekentrisqhj eij kallielaion posw mallon outoi oi kata fusin egkentrisqhsontai th idia elaia 11:24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?
11:25 ou gar qelw umaj agnoein adelfoi to musthrion touto ina mh hte par eautoij fronimoi oti pwrwsij apo merouj tw israhl gegonen axrij ou to plhrwma twn eqnwn eiselqh 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
11:26 kai outwj paj israhl swqhsetai kaqwj gegraptai hcei ek siwn o ruomenoj kai apostreyei asebeiaj apo iakwb 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
11:27 kai auth autoij h par emou diaqhkh otan afelwmai taj amartiaj autwn 11:27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
11:28 kata men to euaggelion exqroi di umaj kata de thn ekloghn agaphtoi dia touj pateraj 11:28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.
11:29 ametamelhta gar ta xarismata kai h klhsij tou qeou 11:29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
Rom 11:30 wsper gar kai umeij pote hpeiqhsate tw qew nun de hlehqhte th toutwn apeiqeia Romans 11:30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:
11:31 outwj kai outoi nun hpeiqhsan tw umeterw eleei ina kai autoi elehqwsin 11:31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.
11:32 sunekleisen gar o qeoj touj pantaj eij apeiqeian ina touj pantaj elehsh 11:32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.
11:33 w baqoj ploutou kai sofiaj kai gnwsewj qeou wj anecereunhta ta krimata autou kai anecixniastoi ai odoi autou 11:33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
11:34 tij gar egnw noun kuriou h tij sumbouloj autou egeneto 11:34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?
11:35 h tij proedwken autw kai antapodoqhsetai autw 11:35 Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
11:36 oti ec autou kai di autou kai eij auton ta panta autw h doca eij touj aiwnaj amhn 11:36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.
