ACTS CHAPTER 19

Latin VulgateGreek Textus ReceptusEnglish King James
Acts 19:1 Factum est autem cum Apollo esset Corinthi, ut Paulus peragratis superioribus partibus veniret Ephesum, et inveniret quosdam discipulos: Acts 19:1 egeneto de en tw ton apollw einai en korinqw paulon dielqonta ta anwterika merh elqein eij efeson kai eurwn tinaj maqhtaj Acts 19:1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,
19:2 eipen proj autouj ei pneuma agion elabete pisteusantej oi de eipon proj auton all oude ei pneuma agion estin hkousamen 19:2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
19:3 Ille vero ait: In quo ergo baptizati estis? Qui dixerunt: In Joannis baptismate. 19:3 eipen te proj autouj eij ti oun ebaptisqhte oi de eipon eij to iwannou baptisma 19:3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
19:4 eipen de pauloj iwannhj men ebaptisen baptisma metanoiaj tw law legwn eij ton erxomenon met auton ina pisteuswsin tout estin eij ton xriston ihsoun 19:4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
19:5 His auditis, baptizati sunt in nomine Domini Jesu. 19:5 akousantej de ebaptisqhsan eij to onoma tou kuriou ihsou 19:5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
19:6 kai epiqentoj autoij tou paulou taj xeiraj hlqen to pneuma to agion ep autouj elaloun te glwssaij kai proefhteuon 19:6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

19:9 wj de tinej esklhrunonto kai hpeiqoun kakologountej thn odon enwpion tou plhqouj apostaj ap autwn afwrisen touj maqhtaj kaq hmeran dialegomenoj en th sxolh turannou tinoj 19:9 But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.
19:11 Virtutesque non quaslibet faciebat Deus per manum Pauli, 19:11 dunameij te ou taj tuxousaj epoiei o qeoj dia twn xeirwn paulou 19:11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:

19:13 Tentaverunt autem quidam et de circumeuntibus Judæis exorcistis invocare super eos qui habebant spiritus malos nomen Domini Jesu, dicentes: Adjuro vos per Jesum, quem Paulus prædicat. 19:13 epexeirhsan de tinej apo twn perierxomenwn ioudaiwn ecorkistwn onomazein epi touj exontaj ta pneumata ta ponhra to onoma tou kuriou ihsou legontej orkizomen umaj ton ihsoun on o pauloj khrussei 19:13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.

19:17 touto de egeneto gnwston pasin ioudaioij te kai ellhsin toij katoikousin thn efeson kai epepesen foboj epi pantaj autouj kai emegaluneto to onoma tou kuriou ihsou 19:17 And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.

19:22 aposteilaj de eij thn makedonian duo twn diakonountwn autw timoqeon kai eraston autoj epesxen xronon eij thn asian 19:22 So he sent into Macedonia two of them that ministered unto him, Timotheus and Erastus; but he himself stayed in Asia for a season.
19:23 egeneto de kata ton kairon ekeinon taraxoj ouk oligoj peri thj odou 19:23 And the same time there arose no small stir about that way.
19:24 Demetrius enim quidam nomine, argentarius, faciens ædes argenteas Dianæ, præstabat artificibus non modicum quæstum: 19:24 dhmhtrioj gar tij onomati argurokopoj poiwn naouj argurouj artemidoj pareixeto toij texnitaij ergasian ouk olighn 19:24 For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, which made silver shrines for Diana, brought no small gain unto the craftsmen;

19:26 kai qewreite kai akouete oti ou monon efesou alla sxedon pashj thj asiaj o pauloj outoj peisaj metesthsen ikanon oxlon legwn oti ouk eisin qeoi oi dia xeirwn ginomenoi 19:26 Moreover ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they be no gods, which are made with hands:
19:27 Non solum autem hæc periclitabitur nobis pars in redargutionem venire, sed et magnæ Dianæ templum in nihilum reputabitur, sed et destrui incipiet majestas ejus, quam tota Asia et orbis colit. 19:27 ou monon de touto kinduneuei hmin to meroj eij apelegmon elqein alla kai to thj megalhj qeaj artemidoj ieron eij ouden logisqhnai mellein te kai kaqaireisqai thn megaleiothta authj hn olh h asia kai h oikoumenh sebetai 19:27 So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at nought; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised, and her magnificence should be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worshippeth.
19:28 His auditis, repleti sunt ira, et exclamaverunt dicentes: Magna Diana Ephesiorum. 19:28 akousantej de kai genomenoi plhreij qumou ekrazon legontej megalh h artemij efesiwn 19:28 And when they heard these sayings, they were full of wrath, and cried out, saying, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.

And Alexander beckoned with the hand, and would have made his defence unto the people.
19:34 epignontwn de oti ioudaioj estin fwnh egeneto mia ek pantwn wj epi wraj duo krazontwn megalh h artemij efesiwn 19:34 But when they knew that he was a Jew, all with one voice about the space of two hours cried out, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.
