Mark 12:1 kai hrcato autoij en parabolaij legein ampelwna efuteusen anqrwpoj kai perieqhken fragmon kai wrucen upolhnion kai wkodomhsen purgon kai ecedoto auton gewrgoij kai apedhmhsen Mark 12:1 And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country.
12:2 Et misit ad agricolas in tempore servum ut ab agricolis acciperet de fructu vineæ. 12:2 kai apesteilen proj touj gewrgouj tw kairw doulon ina para twn gewrgwn labh apo tou karpou tou ampelwnoj 12:2 And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard.
12:3 Qui apprehensum eum ceciderunt, et dimiserunt vacuum. 12:3 oi de labontej auton edeiran kai apesteilan kenon 12:3 And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty.
12:4 Et iterum misit ad illos alium servum: et illum in capite vulneraverunt, et contumeliis affecerunt. 12:4 kai palin apesteilen proj autouj allon doulon kakeinon liqobolhsantej ekefalaiwsan kai apesteilan htimwmenon 12:4 And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled.
12:5 Et rursum alium misit, et illum occiderunt: et plures alios: quosdam cædentes, alios vero occidentes. 12:5 kai palin allon apesteilen kakeinon apekteinan kai pollouj allouj touj men derontej touj de apokteinontej 12:5 And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some.
12:6 Adhuc ergo unum habens filium carissimum, et illum misit ad eos novissimum, dicens: Quia reverebuntur filium meum. 12:6 eti oun ena uion exwn agaphton autou apesteilen kai auton proj autouj esxaton legwn oti entraphsontai ton uion mou 12:6 Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.
12:7 Coloni autem dixerunt ad invicem: Hic est hæres: venite, occidamus eum: et nostra erit hæreditas. 12:7 ekeinoi de oi gewrgoi eipon proj eautouj oti outoj estin o klhronomoj deute apokteinwmen auton kai hmwn estai h klhronomia 12:7 But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.
12:8 Et apprehendentes eum, occiderunt: et ejecerunt extra vineam. 12:8 kai labontej auton apekteinan kai ecebalon ecw tou ampelwnoj 12:8 And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.
12:9 Quid ergo faciet dominus vineæ? Veniet, et perdet colonos, et dabit vineam aliis. 12:9 ti oun poihsei o kurioj tou ampelwnoj eleusetai kai apolesei touj gewrgouj kai dwsei ton ampelwna alloij 12:9 What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others.
Mark 12:10 Nec scripturam hanc legistis: Lapidem quem reprobaverunt ædificantes, hic factus est in caput anguli: Mark 12:10 oude thn grafhn tauthn anegnwte liqon on apedokimasan oi oikodomountej outoj egenhqh eij kefalhn gwniaj Mark 12:10 And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:
12:11 a Domino factum est istud, et est mirabile in oculis nostris? 12:11 para kuriou egeneto auth kai estin qaumasth en ofqalmoij hmwn 12:11 This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
12:12 Et quærebant eum tenere: et timuerunt turbam: cognoverunt enim quoniam ad eos parabolam hanc dixerit. Et relicto eo abierunt. 12:12 kai ezhtoun auton krathsai kai efobhqhsan ton oxlon egnwsan gar oti proj autouj thn parabolhn eipen kai afentej auton aphlqon 12:12 And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way.
12:13 Et mittunt ad eum quosdam ex pharisæis, et herodianis, ut eum caperent in verbo. 12:13 kai apostellousin proj auton tinaj twn farisaiwn kai twn hrwdianwn ina auton agreuswsin logw 12:13 And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words.
12:14 Qui venientes dicunt ei: Magister, scimus quia verax es, et non curas quemquam: nec enim vides in faciem hominum, sed in veritate viam Dei doces. Licet dari tributum Cæsari, an non dabimus? 12:14 oi de elqontej legousin autw didaskale oidamen oti alhqhj ei kai ou melei soi peri oudenoj ou gar blepeij eij proswpon anqrwpwn all ep alhqeiaj thn odon tou qeou didaskeij ecestin khnson kaisari dounai h ou 12:14 And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?
12:15 Qui sciens versutiam illorum, ait illos: Quid me tentatis? afferte mihi denarium ut videam. 12:15 dwmen h mh dwmen o de eidwj autwn thn upokrisin eipen autoij ti me peirazete ferete moi dhnarion ina idw 12:15 Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.
12:16 At illi attulerunt ei. Et ait illis: Cujus est imago hæc, et inscriptio? Dicunt ei: Cæsaris. 12:16 oi de hnegkan kai legei autoij tinoj h eikwn auth kai h epigrafh oi de eipon autw kaisaroj 12:16 And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar's.
12:17 Respondens autem Jesus dixit illis: Reddite igitur quæ sunt Cæsaris, Cæsari: et quæ sunt Dei, Deo. Et mirabantur super eo. 12:17 kai apokriqeij o ihsouj eipen autoij apodote ta kaisaroj kaisari kai ta tou qeou tw qew kai eqaumasan ep autw 12:17 And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him.
12:18 Et venerunt ad eum sadducæi, qui dicunt resurrectionem non esse: et interrogabant eum, dicentes: 12:18 kai erxontai saddoukaioi proj auton oitinej legousin anastasin mh einai kai ephrwthsan auton legontej 12:18 Then come unto him the Sadducees, which say there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying,
12:19 Magister, Moyses nobis scripsit, ut si cujus frater mortuus fuerit, et dimiserit uxorem, et filios non reliquerit, accipiat frater ejus uxorem ipsius, et resuscitet semen fratri suo. 12:19 didaskale mwshj egrayen hmin oti ean tinoj adelfoj apoqanh kai kataliph gunaika kai tekna mh afh ina labh o adelfoj autou thn gunaika autou kai ecanasthsh sperma tw adelfw autou 12:19 Master, Moses wrote unto us, If a man's brother die, and leave his wife behind him, and leave no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
Mark 12:20 Septem ergo fratres erant: et primus accepit uxorem, et mortuus est non relicto semine. Mark 12:20 epta oun adelfoi hsan kai o prwtoj elaben gunaika kai apoqnhskwn ouk afhken sperma Mark 12:20 Now there were seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed.
12:21 Et secundus accepit eam, et mortuus est: et nec iste reliquit semen. Et tertius similiter. 12:21 kai o deuteroj elaben authn kai apeqanen kai oude autoj afhken sperma kai o tritoj wsautwj 12:21 And the second took her, and died, neither left he any seed: and the third likewise.
12:22 Et acceperunt eam similiter septem: et non reliquerunt semen. Novissima omnium defuncta est et mulier. 12:22 kai elabon authn oi epta kai ouk afhkan sperma esxath pantwn apeqanen kai h gunh 12:22 And the seven had her, and left no seed: last of all the woman died also.
12:23 In resurrectione ergo cum resurrexerint, cujus de his erit uxor? septem enim habuerunt eam uxorem. 12:23 en th oun anastasei otan anastwsin tinoj autwn estai gunh oi gar epta esxon authn gunaika 12:23 In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her to wife.
12:24 Et respondens Jesus, ait illis: Nonne ideo erratis, non scientes Scripturas, neque virtutem Dei? 12:24 kai apokriqeij o ihsouj eipen autoij ou dia touto planasqe mh eidotej taj grafaj mhde thn dunamin tou qeou 12:24 And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?
12:25 Cum enim a mortuis resurrexerint, neque nubent, neque nubentur, sed sunt sicut angeli in cælis. 12:25 otan gar ek nekrwn anastwsin oute gamousin oute gamiskontai all eisin wj aggeloi oi en toij ouranoij 12:25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.
12:26 De mortuis autem quod resurgant, non legistis in libro Moysi, super rubum, quomodo dixerit illi Deus, inquiens: Ego sum Deus Abraham, et Deus Isaac, et Deus Jacob? 12:26 peri de twn nekrwn oti egeirontai ouk anegnwte en th biblw mwsewj epi thj batou wj eipen autw o qeoj legwn egw o qeoj abraam kai o qeoj isaak kai o qeoj iakwb 12:26 And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
12:27 Non est Deus mortuorum, sed vivorum. Vos ergo multum erratis. 12:27 ouk estin o qeoj nekrwn alla qeoj zwntwn umeij oun polu planasqe 12:27 He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.
12:28 Et accessit unus de scribis, qui audierat illos conquirentes, et videns quoniam bene illis responderit, interrogavit eum quod esset primum omnium mandatum. 12:28 kai proselqwn eij twn grammatewn akousaj autwn suzhtountwn eidwj oti kalwj autoij apekriqh ephrwthsen auton poia estin prwth paswn entolh 12:28 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?
12:29 Jesus autem respondit ei: Quia primum omnium mandatum est: Audi Israël, Dominus Deus tuus, Deus unus est: 12:29 o de ihsouj apekriqh autw oti prwth paswn twn entolwn akoue israhl kurioj o qeoj hmwn kurioj eij estin 12:29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
Mark 12:30 et diliges Dominum Deum tuum ex tota corde tuo, et ex tota anima tua, et ex tota mente tua, et ex tota virtute tua. Hoc est primum mandatum. Mark 12:30 kai agaphseij kurion ton qeon sou ec olhj thj kardiaj sou kai ec olhj thj yuxhj sou kai ec olhj thj dianoiaj sou kai ec olhj thj isxuoj sou auth prwth entolh Mark 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
12:31 Secundum autem simile est illi: Diliges proximum tuum tamquam teipsum. Majus horum aliud mandatum non est. 12:31 kai deutera omoia auth agaphseij ton plhsion sou wj seauton meizwn toutwn allh entolh ouk estin 12:31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
12:32 Et ait illi scriba: Bene, Magister, in veritate dixisti, quia unus est Deus, et non est alius præter eum. 12:32 kai eipen autw o grammateuj kalwj didaskale ep alhqeiaj eipaj oti eij estin qeoj kai ouk estin alloj plhn autou 12:32 And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:
12:33 Et ut diligatur ex toto corde, et ex toto intellectu, et ex tota anima, et ex tota fortitudine, et diligere proximum tamquam seipsum, majus est omnibus holocautomatibus, et sacrificiis. 12:33 kai to agapan auton ec olhj thj kardiaj kai ec olhj thj sunesewj kai ec olhj thj yuxhj kai ec olhj thj isxuoj kai to agapan ton plhsion wj eauton pleion estin pantwn twn olokautwmatwn kai twn qusiwn 12:33 And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
12:34 Jesus autem videns quod sapienter respondisset, dixit illi: Non es longe a regno Dei. Et nemo jam audebat eum interrogare. 12:34 kai o ihsouj idwn auton oti nounexwj apekriqh eipen autw ou makran ei apo thj basileiaj tou qeou kai oudeij ouketi etolma auton eperwthsai 12:34 And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.
12:35 Et respondens Jesus dicebat, docens in templo: Quomodo dicunt scribæ Christum filium esse David? 12:35 kai apokriqeij o ihsouj elegen didaskwn en tw ierw pwj legousin oi grammateij oti o xristoj uioj estin dabid 12:35 And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the Son of David?
12:36 Ipse enim David dicit in Spiritu Sancto: Dixit Dominus Domino meo: Sede a dextris meis, donec ponam inimicos tuos scabellum pedum tuorum. 12:36 autoj gar dabid eipen en tw pneumati tw agiw eipen o kurioj tw kuriw mou kaqou ek deciwn mou ewj an qw touj exqrouj sou upopodion twn podwn sou 12:36 For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.
12:37 Ipse ergo David dicit eum Dominum, et unde est filius ejus? Et multa turba eum libenter audivit. 12:37 autoj oun dabid legei auton kurion kai poqen uioj autou estin kai o poluj oxloj hkouen autou hdewj 12:37 David therefore himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he then his son? And the common people heard him gladly.
12:38 Et dicebat eis in doctrina sua: Cavete a scribis, qui volunt in stolis ambulare, et salutari in foro, 12:38 kai elegen autoij en th didaxh autou blepete apo twn grammatewn twn qelontwn en stolaij peripatein kai aspasmouj en taij agoraij 12:38 And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces,
12:39 et in primis cathedris sedere in synagogis, et primos discubitus in cœnis: 12:39 kai prwtokaqedriaj en taij sunagwgaij kai prwtoklisiaj en toij deipnoij 12:39 And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts:
Mark 12:40 qui devorant domos viduarum sub obtentu prolixæ orationis: hi accipient prolixius judicium. Mark 12:40 oi katesqiontej taj oikiaj twn xhrwn kai profasei makra proseuxomenoi outoi lhyontai perissoteron krima Mark 12:40 Which devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation.
12:41 Et sedens Jesus contra gazophylacium, aspiciebat quomodo turba jactaret æs in gazophylacium, et multi divites jactabant multa. 12:41 kai kaqisaj o ihsouj katenanti tou gazofulakiou eqewrei pwj o oxloj ballei xalkon eij to gazofulakion kai polloi plousioi eballon polla 12:41 And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.
12:42 Cum venisset autem vidua una pauper, misit duo minuta, quod est quadrans, 12:42 kai elqousa mia xhra ptwxh ebalen lepta duo o estin kodranthj 12:42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
12:43 et convocans discipulos suos, ait illis: Amen dico vobis, quoniam vidua hæc pauper plus omnibus misit, qui miserunt in gazophylacium. 12:43 kai proskalesamenoj touj maqhtaj autou legei autoij amhn legw umin oti h xhra auth h ptwxh pleion pantwn beblhken twn balontwn eij to gazofulakion 12:43 And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
12:44 Omnes enim ex eo, quod abundabat illis, miserunt: hæc vero de penuria sua omnia quæ habuit misit totum victum suum. 12:44 pantej gar ek tou perisseuontoj autoij ebalon auth de ek thj usterhsewj authj panta osa eixen ebalen olon ton bion authj 12:44 For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
