Luke 12:1 ἐν οἷς ἐπισυναχθεισῶν τῶν μυριάδων τοῦ ὄχλου ὥστε καταπατεῖν ἀλλήλους ἤρξατο λέγειν πρὸς τοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτοῦ πρῶτον προσέχετε ἑαυτοῖς ἀπὸ τῆς ζύμης τῶν φαρισαίων ἥτις ἐστὶν ὑπόκρισις	Luke 12:1 In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
12:2 οὐδὲν δὲ συγκεκαλυμμένον ἐστὶν ὃ οὐκ ἀποκαλυφθήσεται καὶ κρυπτὸν ὃ οὐ γνωσθήσεται	12:2 For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.
12:3 ἀνθ ὧν ὅσα ἐν τῇ σκοτίᾳ εἴπατε ἐν τῷ φωτὶ ἀκουσθήσεται καὶ ὃ πρὸς τὸ οὖς ἐλαλήσατε ἐν τοῖς ταμείοις κηρυχθήσεται ἐπὶ τῶν δωμάτων	12:3 Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.
12:4 λέγω δὲ ὑμῖν τοῖς φίλοις μου μὴ φοβηθῆτε ἀπὸ τῶν ἀποκτεινόντων τὸ σῶμα καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα μὴ ἐχόντων περισσότερόν τι ποιῆσαι	12:4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
12:5 ὑποδείξω δὲ ὑμῖν τίνα φοβηθῆτε φοβήθητε τὸν μετὰ τὸ ἀποκτεῖναι ἐξουσίαν ἔχοντα ἐμβαλεῖν εἰς τὴν γέενναν ναί λέγω ὑμῖν τοῦτον φοβήθητε	12:5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
12:6 οὐχὶ πέντε στρουθία πωλεῖται ἀσσαρίων δύο καὶ ἓν ἐξ αὐτῶν οὐκ ἔστιν ἐπιλελησμένον ἐνώπιον τοῦ θεοῦ	12:6 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?
12:7 ἀλλὰ καὶ αἱ τρίχες τῆς κεφαλῆς ὑμῶν πᾶσαι ἠρίθμηνται μὴ οὖν φοβεῖσθε πολλῶν στρουθίων διαφέρετε	12:7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
12:8 λέγω δὲ ὑμῖν πᾶς ὃς ἂν ὁμολογήσῃ ἐν ἐμοὶ ἔμπροσθεν τῶν ἀνθρώπων καὶ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ὁμολογήσει ἐν αὐτῷ ἔμπροσθεν τῶν ἀγγέλων τοῦ θεοῦ	12:8 Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:
12:9 ὁ δὲ ἀρνησάμενός με ἐνώπιον τῶν ἀνθρώπων ἀπαρνηθήσεται ἐνώπιον τῶν ἀγγέλων τοῦ θεοῦ	12:9 But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.
Luke 12:10 καὶ πᾶς ὃς ἐρεῖ λόγον εἰς τὸν υἱὸν τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἀφεθήσεται αὐτῷ τῷ δὲ εἰς τὸ ἅγιον πνεῦμα βλασφημήσαντι οὐκ ἀφεθήσεται	Luke 12:10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.
12:11 ὅταν δὲ προσφέρωσιν ὑμᾶς ἐπὶ τὰς συναγωγὰς καὶ τὰς ἀρχὰς καὶ τὰς ἐξουσίας μὴ μεριμνᾶτε πῶς ἢ τί ἀπολογήσησθε ἢ τί εἴπητε	12:11 And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:
12:12 τὸ γὰρ ἅγιον πνεῦμα διδάξει ὑμᾶς ἐν αὐτῇ τῇ ὥρᾳ ἃ δεῖ εἰπεῖν	12:12 For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.
12:13 εἶπεν δέ τις αὐτῷ ἐκ τοῦ ὄχλου διδάσκαλε εἰπὲ τῷ ἀδελφῷ μου μερίσασθαι μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ τὴν κληρονομίαν	12:13 And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.
12:14 ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτῷ ἄνθρωπε τίς με κατέστησεν δικαστὴν ἢ μεριστὴν ἐφ᾽ ὑμᾶς	12:14 And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?
12:15 εἶπεν δὲ πρὸς αὐτούς ὁρᾶτε καὶ φυλάσσεσθε ἀπὸ τῆς πλεονεξίας ὅτι οὐκ ἐν τῷ περισσεύειν τινὶ ἡ ζωὴ αὐτοῦ ἐστιν ἐκ τῶν ὑπαρχόντων αὐτοῦ	12:15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
12:16 εἶπεν δὲ παραβολὴν πρὸς αὐτοὺς λέγων, ἀνθρώπου τινὸς πλουσίου εὐφόρησεν ἡ χώρα	12:16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
12:17 καὶ διελογίζετο ἐν ἑαυτῷ λέγων, τί ποιήσω ὅτι οὐκ ἔχω ποῦ συνάξω τοὺς καρπούς μου	12:17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
12:18 καὶ εἶπεν τοῦτο ποιήσω καθελῶ μου τὰς ἀποθήκας καὶ μείζονας οἰκοδομήσω καὶ συνάξω ἐκεῖ πάντα τὰ γενήματά μου καὶ τὰ ἀγαθά μου	12:18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
12:19 καὶ ἐρῶ τῇ ψυχῇ μου ψυχή ἔχεις πολλὰ ἀγαθὰ κείμενα εἰς ἔτη πολλά ἀναπαύου φάγε πίε εὐφραίνου	12:19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
Luke 12:20 εἶπεν δὲ αὐτῷ ὁ θεός ἄφρων ταύτῃ τῇ νυκτὶ τὴν ψυχήν σου ἀπαιτοῦσιν ἀπὸ σοῦ ἃ δὲ ἡτοίμασας τίνι ἔσται	Luke 12:20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
12:21 οὕτως ὁ θησαυρίζων ἑαυτῷ καὶ μὴ εἰς θεὸν πλουτῶν	12:21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
12:22 εἶπεν δὲ πρὸς τοὺς μαθητάς αὐτοῦ διὰ τοῦτο ὑμῖν λέγω μὴ μεριμνᾶτε τῇ ψυχῇ ὑμῶν, τί φάγητε μηδὲ τῷ σώματι τί ἐνδύσησθε	12:22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
12:23 ἡ ψυχὴ πλεῖόν ἐστιν τῆς τροφῆς καὶ τὸ σῶμα τοῦ ἐνδύματος	12:23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
12:24 κατανοήσατε τοὺς κόρακας ὅτι οὐ σπείρουσιν οὐδὲ θερίζουσιν οἷς οὐκ ἔστιν ταμεῖον οὐδὲ ἀποθήκη καὶ ὁ θεὸς τρέφει αὐτούς πόσῳ μᾶλλον ὑμεῖς διαφέρετε τῶν πετεινῶν	12:24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
12:25 τίς δὲ ἐξ ὑμῶν μεριμνῶν δύναται προσθεῖναι ἐπὶ τὴν ἡλικίαν αὐτοῦ πῆχυν ἕνα	12:25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
12:26 εἰ οὖν οὐτὲ ἐλάχιστον δύνασθε τί περὶ τῶν λοιπῶν μεριμνᾶτε	12:26 If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?
12:27 κατανοήσατε τὰ κρίνα πῶς αὐξάνει οὐ κοπιᾷ οὐδὲ νήθει λέγω δὲ ὑμῖν οὐδὲ σολομὼν ἐν πάσῃ τῇ δόξῃ αὐτοῦ περιεβάλετο ὡς ἓν τούτων	12:27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
12:28 εἰ δὲ τὸν χόρτον ἐν τῷ ἀγρῷ σήμερον ὄντα καὶ αὔριον εἰς κλίβανον βαλλόμενον ὁ θεὸς οὕτως ἀμφιέννυσιν πόσῳ μᾶλλον ὑμᾶς ὀλιγόπιστοι	12:28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
12:29 καὶ ὑμεῖς μὴ ζητεῖτε τί φάγητε ἢ τί πίητε καὶ μὴ μετεωρίζεσθε	12:29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
Luke 12:30 ταῦτα γὰρ πάντα τὰ ἔθνη τοῦ κόσμου ἐπιζητεῖ ὑμῶν δὲ ὁ πατὴρ οἶδεν ὅτι χρῄζετε τούτων	Luke 12:30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
12:31 πλὴν ζητεῖτε τὴν βασιλείαν τοῦ θεοῦ, καὶ ταῦτα πάντα προστεθήσεται ὑμῖν	12:31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
12:32 μὴ φοβοῦ τὸ μικρὸν ποίμνιον ὅτι εὐδόκησεν ὁ πατὴρ ὑμῶν δοῦναι ὑμῖν τὴν βασιλείαν	12:32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
12:33 πωλήσατε τὰ ὑπάρχοντα ὑμῶν καὶ δότε ἐλεημοσύνην ποιήσατε ἑαυτοῖς βαλάντια μὴ παλαιούμενα θησαυρὸν ἀνέκλειπτον ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς ὅπου κλέπτης οὐκ ἐγγίζει οὐδὲ σὴς διαφθείρει	12:33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
12:34 ὅπου γάρ ἐστιν ὁ θησαυρὸς ὑμῶν ἐκεῖ καὶ ἡ καρδία ὑμῶν ἔσται	12:34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
12:35 ἕστωσαν ὑμῶν αἱ ὀσφύες περιεζωσμέναι καὶ οἱ λύχνοι καιόμενοι	12:35 Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;
12:36 καὶ ὑμεῖς ὅμοιοι ἀνθρώποις προσδεχομένοις τὸν κύριον ἑαυτῶν πότε ἀναλύσει ἐκ τῶν γάμων ἵνα ἐλθόντος καὶ κρούσαντος εὐθέως ἀνοίξωσιν αὐτῷ	12:36 And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.
12:37 μακάριοι οἱ δοῦλοι ἐκεῖνοι οὓς ἐλθὼν ὁ κύριος εὑρήσει γρηγοροῦντας ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι περιζώσεται καὶ ἀνακλινεῖ αὐτοὺς καὶ παρελθὼν διακονήσει αὐτοῖς	12:37 Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily i say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.
12:38 καὶ ἐὰν ἔλθῃ ἐν τῇ δευτέρᾳ φυλακῇ καὶ ἐν τῇ τρίτῃ φυλακῇ, ἔλθῃ καὶ εὕρῃ οὕτως μακάριοί εἰσιν οἱ δοῦλοι ἐκεῖνοι	12:38 And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.
12:39 τοῦτο δὲ γινώσκετε ὅτι εἰ ᾔδει ὁ οἰκοδεσπότης ποίᾳ ὥρᾳ ὁ κλέπτης ἔρχεται ἐγρηγόρησεν ἂν καὶ οὐκ ἄν, ἀφῆκεν διορυγῆναι τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ	12:39 And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.
Luke 12:40 καὶ ὑμεῖς οὖν γίνεσθε ἕτοιμοι ὅτι ᾗ ὥρᾳ οὐ δοκεῖτε ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἔρχεται	Luke 12:40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.
12:41 εἶπεν δὲ αὐτῷ ὁ πέτρος κύριε πρὸς ἡμᾶς τὴν παραβολὴν ταύτην λέγεις ἢ καὶ πρὸς πάντας	12:41 Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?
12:42 εἶπεν δὲ ὁ κύριος τίς ἄρα ἐστὶν ὁ πιστὸς οἰκονόμος καὶ φρόνιμος ὃν καταστήσει ὁ κύριος ἐπὶ τῆς θεραπείας αὐτοῦ τοῦ διδόναι ἐν καιρῷ τὸ σιτομέτριον	12:42 And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?
12:43 μακάριος ὁ δοῦλος ἐκεῖνος ὃν ἐλθὼν ὁ κύριος αὐτοῦ εὑρήσει ποιοῦντα οὕτως	12:43 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
12:44 ἀληθῶς λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι ἐπὶ πᾶσιν τοῖς ὑπάρχουσιν αὐτοῦ καταστήσει αὐτόν	12:44 Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.
12:45 ἐὰν δὲ εἴπῃ ὁ δοῦλος ἐκεῖνος ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτοῦ χρονίζει ὁ κύριός μου ἔρχεσθαι καὶ ἄρξηται τύπτειν τοὺς παῖδας καὶ τὰς παιδίσκας ἐσθίειν τε καὶ πίνειν καὶ μεθύσκεσθαι	12:45 But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;
12:46 ἥξει ὁ κύριος τοῦ δούλου ἐκείνου ἐν ἡμέρᾳ ᾗ οὐ προσδοκᾷ καὶ ἐν ὥρᾳ ᾗ οὐ γινώσκει καὶ διχοτομήσει αὐτὸν καὶ τὸ μέρος αὐτοῦ μετὰ τῶν ἀπίστων θήσει	12:46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
12:47 ἐκεῖνος δὲ ὁ δοῦλος ὁ γνοὺς τὸ θέλημα τοῦ κυρίου ἑαυτοῦ, καὶ μὴ ἑτοιμάσας μηδὲ ποιήσας πρὸς τὸ θέλημα αὐτοῦ δαρήσεται πολλάς	12:47 And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
12:48 ὁ δὲ μὴ γνούς ποιήσας δὲ ἄξια πληγῶν δαρήσεται ὀλίγας παντὶ δὲ ᾧ ἐδόθη πολύ πολὺ ζητηθήσεται παρ᾽ αὐτοῦ καὶ ᾧ παρέθεντο πολύ περισσότερον αἰτήσουσιν αὐτόν	12:48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
12:49 πῦρ ἦλθον βαλεῖν εἰς τὴν γῆν καὶ τί θέλω εἰ ἤδη ἀνήφθη	12:49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?
Luke 12:50 βάπτισμα δὲ ἔχω βαπτισθῆναι καὶ πῶς συνέχομαι ἕως οὖ τελεσθῇ	Luke 12:50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!
12:51 δοκεῖτε ὅτι εἰρήνην παρεγενόμην δοῦναι ἐν τῇ γῇ οὐχί λέγω ὑμῖν ἀλλ᾽ ἢ διαμερισμόν	12:51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:
12:52 ἔσονται γὰρ ἀπὸ τοῦ νῦν πέντε ἐν οἴκῳ ἑνὶ διαμεμερισμένοι τρεῖς ἐπὶ δυσὶν καὶ δύο ἐπὶ τρισίν	12:52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.
12:53 διαμερισθήσεται πατὴρ ἐφ᾽ υἱῷ καὶ υἱὸς ἐπὶ πατρί μήτηρ ἐπὶ θυγατρί, καὶ θυγάτηρ ἐπὶ μητρί πενθερὰ ἐπὶ τὴν νύμφην αὐτῆς καὶ νύμφη ἐπὶ τὴν πενθεράν αὐτῆς,	12:53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
12:54 ἕλεγεν δὲ καὶ τοῖς ὄχλοις ὅταν ἴδητε τὴν νεφέλην ἀνατέλλουσαν ἀπὸ δυσμῶν εὐθέως λέγετε ὄμβρος ἔρχεται καὶ γίνεται οὕτως	12:54 And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is.
12:55 καὶ ὅταν νότον πνέοντα λέγετε ὅτι καύσων ἔσται καὶ γίνεται	12:55 And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass.
12:56 ὑποκριταί τὸ πρόσωπον τῆς γῆς καὶ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ οἴδατε δοκιμάζειν τὸν δὲ καιρὸν τοῦτον πῶς οὐ δοκιμάζετε	12:56 Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?
12:57 τί δὲ καὶ ἀφ᾽ ἑαυτῶν οὐ κρίνετε τὸ δίκαιον	12:57 Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?
12:58 ὡς γὰρ ὑπάγεις μετὰ τοῦ ἀντιδίκου σου ἐπ᾽ ἄρχοντα ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ δὸς ἐργασίαν ἀπηλλάχθαι ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ μήποτε κατασύρῃ σε πρὸς τὸν κριτήν καὶ ὁ κριτής σε παραδῷ τῷ πράκτορι καὶ ὁ πράκτωρ σε βάλλῃ εἰς φυλακήν	12:58 When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison.
12:59 λέγω σοι οὐ μὴ ἐξέλθῃς ἐκεῖθεν ἕως οὐ καὶ τὸ ἔσχατον λεπτὸν ἀποδῷς	12:59 I tell thee, thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast paid the very last mite.
