Luke 17:1 Et ait ad discipulos suos: Impossibile est ut non veniant scandala: væ autem illi per quem veniunt. Luke 17:1 eipen de proj touj maqhtaj anendekton estin tou mh elqein ta skandala ouai de di ou erxetai Luke 17:1 Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!
17:2 Utilius est illi si lapis molaris imponatur circa collum ejus, et projiciatur in mare quam ut scandalizet unum de pusillis istis. 17:2 lusitelei autw ei muloj onikoj perikeitai peri ton traxhlon autou kai erriptai eij thn qalassan h ina skandalish ena twn mikrwn toutwn 17:2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.
17:3 Attendite vobis: Si peccaverit in te frater tuus, increpa illum: et si pœnitentiam egerit, dimitte illi. 17:3 prosexete eautoij ean de amarth eij se o adelfoj sou epitimhson autw kai ean metanohsh afej autw 17:3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
17:4 Et si septies in die peccaverit in te, et septies in die conversus fuerit ad te, dicens: Pœnitet me, dimitte illi. 17:4 kai ean eptakij thj hmeraj amarth eij se kai eptakij thj hmeraj epistreyh epi se legwn metanow afhseij autw 17:4 And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.
17:5 Et dixerunt apostoli Domino: Adauge nobis fidem. 17:5 kai eipon oi apostoloi tw kuriw prosqej hmin pistin 17:5 And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.
17:6 Dixit autem Dominus: Si habueritis fidem sicut granum sinapis, dicetis huic arbori moro: Eradicare, et transplantare in mare, et obediet vobis. 17:6 eipen de o kurioj ei eixete pistin wj kokkon sinapewj elegete an th sukaminw tauth ekrizwqhti kai futeuqhti en th qalassh kai uphkousen an umin 17:6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
17:7 Quis autem vestrum habens servum arantem aut pascentem, qui regresso de agro dicat illi: Statim transi, recumbe: 17:7 tij de ec umwn doulon exwn arotriwnta h poimainonta oj eiselqonti ek tou agrou erei euqewj parelqwn anapesai 17:7 But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat?
17:8 et non dicat ei: Para quod cœnem, et præcinge te, et ministra mihi donec manducem, et bibam, et post hæc tu manducabis, et bibes? 17:8 all ouxi erei autw etoimason ti deipnhsw kai perizwsamenoj diakonei moi ewj fagw kai piw kai meta tauta fagesai kai piesai su 17:8 And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?
17:9 Numquid gratiam habet servo illi, quia fecit quæ ei imperaverat? 17:9 mh xarin exei tw doulw ekeinw oti epoihsen ta diataxqenta autw ou dokw 17:9 Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not.
Luke 17:10 non puto. Sic et vos cum feceritis omnia quæ præcepta sunt vobis, dicite: Servi inutiles sumus: quod debuimus facere, fecimus. Luke 17:10 outwj kai umeij otan poihshte panta ta diataxqenta umin legete oti douloi axreioi esmen oti o wfeilomen poihsai pepoihkamen Luke 17:10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.
17:11 Et factum est, dum iret in Jerusalem, transibat per mediam Samariam et Galilæam. 17:11 kai egeneto en tw poreuesqai auton eij ierousalhm kai autoj dihrxeto dia mesou samareiaj kai galilaiaj 17:11 And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
17:12 Et cum ingrederetur quoddam castellum, occurrerunt ei decem viri leprosi, qui steterunt a longe: 17:12 kai eiserxomenou autou eij tina kwmhn aphnthsan autw deka leproi andrej oi esthsan porrwqen 17:12 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:
17:13 et levaverunt vocem, dicentes: Jesu præceptor, miserere nostri. 17:13 kai autoi hran fwnhn legontej ihsou epistata elehson hmaj 17:13 And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
17:14 Quos ut vidit, dixit: Ite, ostendite vos sacerdotibus. Et factum est, dum irent, mundati sunt. 17:14 kai idwn eipen autoij poreuqentej epideicate eautouj toij iereusin kai egeneto en tw upagein autouj ekaqarisqhsan 17:14 And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.
17:15 Unus autem ex illis, ut vidit quia mundatus est, regressus est, cum magna voce magnificans Deum, 17:15 eij de ec autwn idwn oti iaqh upestreyen meta fwnhj megalhj docazwn ton qeon 17:15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
17:16 et cecidit in faciem ante pedes ejus, gratias agens: et hic erat Samaritanus. 17:16 kai epesen epi proswpon para touj podaj autou euxaristwn autw kai autoj hn samareithj 17:16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
17:17 Respondens autem Jesus, dixit: Nonne decem mundati sunt? et novem ubi sunt? 17:17 apokriqeij de o ihsouj eipen ouxi oi deka ekaqarisqhsan oi de ennea pou 17:17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
17:18 Non est inventus qui rediret, et daret gloriam Deo, nisi hic alienigena. 17:18 oux eureqhsan upostreyantej dounai docan tw qew ei mh o allogenhj outoj 17:18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.
17:19 Et ait illi: Surge, vade: quia fides tua te salvum fecit. 17:19 kai eipen autw anastaj poreuou h pistij sou seswken se 17:19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.
Luke 17:20 Interrogatus autem a pharisæis: Quando venit regnum Dei? respondens eis, dixit: Non venit regnum Dei cum observatione: Luke 17:20 eperwthqeij de upo twn farisaiwn pote erxetai h basileia tou qeou apekriqh autoij kai eipen ouk erxetai h basileia tou qeou meta parathrhsewj Luke 17:20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
17:21 neque dicent: Ecce hic, aut ecce illic. Ecce enim regnum Dei intra vos est. 17:21 oude erousin idou wde h idou ekei idou gar h basileia tou qeou entoj umwn estin 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
17:22 Et ait ad discipulos suos: Venient dies quando desideretis videre unum diem Filii hominis, et non videbitis. 17:22 eipen de proj touj maqhtaj eleusontai hmerai ote epiqumhsete mian twn hmerwn tou uiou tou anqrwpou idein kai ouk oyesqe 17:22 And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it.
17:23 Et dicent vobis: Ecce hic, et ecce illic. Nolite ire, neque sectemini: 17:23 kai erousin umin idou wde h idou ekei mh apelqhte mhde diwchte 17:23 And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after them, nor follow them.
17:24 nam, sicut fulgur coruscans de sub cælo in ea quæ sub cælo sunt, fulget: ita erit Filius hominis in die sua. 17:24 wsper gar h astraph h astraptousa ek thj up ouranon eij thn up ouranon lampei outwj estai kai o uioj tou anqrwpou en th hmera autou 17:24 For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day.
17:25 Primum autem oportet illum multa pati, et reprobari a generatione hac. 17:25 prwton de dei auton polla paqein kai apodokimasqhnai apo thj geneaj tauthj 17:25 But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.
17:26 Et sicut factum est in diebus Noë, ita erit et in diebus Filii hominis: 17:26 kai kaqwj egeneto en taij hmeraij tou nwe outwj estai kai en taij hmeraij tou uiou tou anqrwpou 17:26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
17:27 edebant et bibebant: uxores ducebant et dabantur ad nuptias, usque in diem, qua intravit Noë in arcam: et venit diluvium, et perdidit omnes. 17:27 hsqion epinon egamoun ecegamizonto axri hj hmeraj eishlqen nwe eij thn kibwton kai hlqen o kataklusmoj kai apwlesen apantaj 17:27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
17:28 Similiter sicut factum est in diebus Lot: edebant et bibebant, emebant et vendebant, plantabant et ædificabant: 17:28 omoiwj kai wj egeneto en taij hmeraij lwt hsqion epinon hgorazon epwloun efuteuon wkodomoun 17:28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
17:29 qua die autem exiit Lot a Sodomis, pluit ignem et sulphur de cælo, et omnes perdidit: 17:29 h de hmera echlqen lwt apo sodomwn ebrecen pur kai qeion ap ouranou kai apwlesen apantaj 17:29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
Luke 17:30 secundum hæc erit qua die Filius hominis revelabitur. Luke 17:30 kata tauta estai h hmera o uioj tou anqrwpou apokaluptetai Luke 17:30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
17:31 In illa hora, qui fuerit in tecto, et vasa ejus in domo, ne descendat tollere illa: et qui in agro, similiter non redeat retro. 17:31 en ekeinh th hmera oj estai epi tou dwmatoj kai ta skeuh autou en th oikia mh katabatw arai auta kai o en tw agrw omoiwj mh epistreyatw eij ta opisw 17:31 In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.
17:32 Memores estote uxoris Lot. 17:32 mnhmoneuete thj gunaikoj lwt 17:32 Remember Lot's wife.
17:33 Quicumque quæsierit animam suam salvam facere, perdet illam: et quicumque perdiderit illam, vivificabit eam. 17:33 oj ean zhthsh thn yuxhn autou swsai apolesei authn kai oj ean apolesh authn zwogonhsei authn 17:33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.
17:34 Dico vobis: In illa nocte erunt duo in lecto uno: unus assumetur, et alter relinquetur: 17:34 legw umin tauth th nukti esontai duo epi klinhj miaj o eij paralhfqhsetai kai o eteroj afeqhsetai 17:34 I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
17:35 duæ erunt molentes in unum: una assumetur, et altera relinquetur: 17:35 duo esontai alhqousai epi to auto h mia paralhfqhsetai kai h etera afeqhsetai 17:35 Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
17:36 duo in agro: unus assumetur, et alter relinquetur. 17:36 duo esontai en tw agrw o eij paralhfqhsetai kai o eteroj afeqhsetai 17:36 Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
17:37 Respondentes dicunt illi: Ubi Domine? Qui dixit illis: Ubicumque fuerit corpus, illuc congregabuntur et aquilæ. 17:37 kai apokriqentej legousin autw pou kurie o de eipen autoij opou to swma ekei sunaxqhsontai oi aetoi 17:37 And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.
