Luke 22:1 Appropinquat autem dies festus azymorum, qui dicitur Pascha: Luke 22:1 hggizen de h eorth twn azumwn h legomenh pasxa Luke 22:1 Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover.
22:2 et quærebant principes sacerdotum, et scribæ, quomodo Jesum interficerent: timebant vero plebem. 22:2 kai ezhtoun oi arxiereij kai oi grammateij to pwj anelwsin auton efobounto gar ton laon 22:2 And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.
22:3 Intravit autem Satanas in Judam, qui cognominabatur Iscariotes, unum de duodecim: 22:3 eishlqen de o satanaj eij ioudan ton epikaloumenon iskariwthn onta ek tou ariqmou twn dwdeka 22:3 Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.

22:7 Venit autem dies azymorum, in qua necesse erat occidi pascha. 22:7 hlqen de h hmera twn azumwn en h edei quesqai to pasxa 22:7 Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed.
22:8 Et misit Petrum et Joannem, dicens: Euntes parate nobis pascha, ut manducemus. 22:8 kai apesteilen petron kai iwannhn eipwn poreuqentej etoimasate hmin to pasxa ina fagwmen 22:8 And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.
22:9 At illi dixerunt: Ubi vis paremus? 22:9 oi de eipon autw pou qeleij etoimaswmen 22:9 And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare?
Luke 22:10 Et dixit ad eos: Ecce introëuntibus vobis in civitatem occurret vobis homo quidam amphoram aquæ portans: sequimini eum in domum, in quam intrat, Luke 22:10 o de eipen autoij idou eiselqontwn umwn eij thn polin sunanthsei umin anqrwpoj keramion udatoj bastazwn akolouqhsate autw eij thn oikian ou eisporeuetai Luke 22:10 And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in.
22:11 et dicetis patrifamilias domus: Dicit tibi Magister: Ubi est diversorium, ubi pascha cum discipulis meis manducem? 22:11 kai ereite tw oikodespoth thj oikiaj legei soi o didaskaloj pou estin to kataluma opou to pasxa meta twn maqhtwn mou fagw 22:11 And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?
22:12 Et ipse ostendet vobis cœnaculum magnum stratum, et ibi parate. 22:12 kakeinoj umin deicei anwgeon mega estrwmenon ekei etoimasate 22:12 And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.

22:14 Et cum facta esset hora, discubuit, et duodecim apostoli cum eo. 22:14 kai ote egeneto h wra anepesen kai oi dwdeka apostoloi sun autw 22:14 And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.
22:15 Et ait illis: Desiderio desideravi hoc pascha manducare vobiscum, antequam patiar. 22:15 kai eipen proj autouj epiqumia epequmhsa touto to pasxa fagein meq umwn pro tou me paqein 22:15 And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
22:16 Dico enim vobis, quia ex hoc non manducabo illud, donec impleatur in regno Dei. 22:16 legw gar umin oti ouketi ou mh fagw ec autou ewj otou plhrwqh en th basileia tou qeou 22:16 For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
22:17 Et accepto calice gratias egit, et dixit: Accipite, et dividite inter vos. 22:17 kai decamenoj pothrion euxaristhsaj eipen labete touto kai diamerisate eautoij 22:17 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:
22:18 Dico enim vobis quod non bibam de generatione vitis donec regnum Dei veniat. 22:18 legw gar umin oti ou mh piw apo tou gennhmatoj thj ampelou ewj otou h basileia tou qeou elqh 22:18 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
22:19 Et accepto pane gratias egit, et fregit, et dedit eis, dicens: Hoc est corpus meum, quod pro vobis datur: hoc facite in meam commemorationem. 22:19 kai labwn arton euxaristhsaj eklasen kai edwken autoij legwn touto estin to swma mou to uper umwn didomenon touto poieite eij thn emhn anamnhsin 22:19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
Luke 22:20 Similiter et calicem, postquam cœnavit, dicens: Hic est calix novum testamentum in sanguine meo, qui pro vobis fundetur. Luke 22:20 wsautwj kai to pothrion meta to deipnhsai legwn touto to pothrion h kainh diaqhkh en tw aimati mou to uper umwn ekxunomenon Luke 22:20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
22:21 Verumtamen ecce manus tradentis me, mecum est in mensa. 22:21 plhn idou h xeir tou paradidontoj me met emou epi thj trapezhj 22:21 But, behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.
22:22 Et quidem Filius hominis, secundum quod definitum est, vadit: verumtamen væ homini illi per quem tradetur. 22:22 kai o men uioj tou anqrwpou poreuetai kata to wrismenon plhn ouai tw anqrwpw ekeinw di ou paradidotai 22:22 And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed!
22:23 Et ipsi cœperunt quærere inter se quis esset ex eis qui hoc facturus esset. 22:23 kai autoi hrcanto suzhtein proj eautouj to tij ara eih ec autwn o touto mellwn prassein 22:23 And they began to enquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.
22:24 Facta est autem et contentio inter eos, quis eorum videretur esse major. 22:24 egeneto de kai filoneikia en autoij to tij autwn dokei einai meizwn 22:24 And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.
22:25 Dixit autem eis: Reges gentium dominantur eorum: et qui potestatem habent super eos, benefici vocantur. 22:25 o de eipen autoij oi basileij twn eqnwn kurieuousin autwn kai oi ecousiazontej autwn euergetai kalountai 22:25 And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.
22:26 Vos autem non sic: sed qui major est in vobis, fiat sicut minor: et qui præcessor est, sicut ministrator. 22:26 umeij de oux outwj all o meizwn en umin genesqw wj o newteroj kai o hgoumenoj wj o diakonwn 22:26 But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.
22:27 Nam quis major est, qui recumbit, an qui ministrat? nonne qui recumbit? Ego autem in medio vestrum sum, sicut qui ministrat: 22:27 tij gar meizwn o anakeimenoj h o diakonwn ouxi o anakeimenoj egw de eimi en mesw umwn wj o diakonwn 22:27 For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.
22:28 vos autem estis, qui permansistis mecum in tentationibus meis. 22:28 umeij de este oi diamemenhkotej met emou en toij peirasmoij mou 22:28 Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations.
22:29 Et ego dispono vobis sicut disposuit mihi Pater meus regnum, 22:29 kagw diatiqemai umin kaqwj dieqeto moi o pathr mou basileian 22:29 And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;
Luke 22:30 ut edatis et bibatis super mensam meam in regno meo, et sedeatis super thronos judicantes duodecim tribus Israël. 22:31 Ait autem Dominus: Simon, Simon, ecce Satanas expetivit vos ut cribraret sicut triticum: 22:31 eipen de o kurioj simwn simwn idou o satanaj echthsato umaj tou siniasai wj ton siton 22:31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
22:32 ego autem rogavi pro te ut non deficiat fides tua: et tu aliquando conversus, confirma fratres tuos. 22:32 egw de edehqhn peri sou ina mh ekleiph h pistij sou kai su pote epistreyaj sthricon touj adelfouj sou 22:32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
22:33 Qui dixit ei: Domine, tecum paratus sum et in carcerem et in mortem ire. 22:33 o de eipen autw kurie meta sou etoimoj eimi kai eij fulakhn kai eij qanaton poreuesqai 22:33 And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.
22:34 At ille dixit: Dico tibi, Petre, non cantabit hodie gallus, donec ter abneges nosse me. Et dixit eis: 22:34 o de eipen legw soi petre ou mh fwnhsei shmeron alektwr prin h trij aparnhsh mh eidenai me 22:34 And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.
22:35 Quando misi vos sine sacculo, et pera, et calceamentis, numquid aliquid defuit vobis? 22:35 kai eipen autoij ote apesteila umaj ater balantiou kai phraj kai upodhmatwn mh tinoj usterhsate oi de eipon oudenoj 22:35 And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.
22:36 At illi dixerunt: Nihil. Dixit ergo eis: Sed nunc qui habet sacculum, tollat; similiter et peram: et qui non habet, vendat tunicam suam et emat gladium. 22:36 eipen oun autoij alla nun o exwn balantion aratw omoiwj kai phran kai o mh exwn pwlhsatw to imation autou kai agorasatw maxairan 22:36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
22:37 Dico enim vobis, quoniam adhuc hoc quod scriptum est, oportet impleri in me: Et cum iniquis deputatus est. Etenim ea quæ sunt de me finem habent. 22:37 legw gar umin oti eti touto to gegrammenon dei telesqhnai en emoi to kai meta anomwn elogisqh kai gar ta peri emou teloj exei 22:37 For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.
22:38 At illi dixerunt: Domine, ecce duo gladii hic. At ille dixit eis: Satis est. 22:38 oi de eipon kurie idou maxairai wde duo o de eipen autoij ikanon estin 22:38 And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.
22:39 Et egressus ibat secundum consuetudinem in monte Olivarum. Secuti sunt autem illum et discipuli. 22:39 kai ecelqwn eporeuqh kata to eqoj eij to oroj twn elaiwn hkolouqhsan de autw kai oi maqhtai autou 22:39 And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him.
Luke 22:40 Et cum pervenisset ad locum, dixit illis: Orate ne intretis in tentationem. Luke 22:40 genomenoj de epi tou topou eipen autoij proseuxesqe mh eiselqein eij peirasmon Luke 22:40 And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
22:41 Et ipse avulsus est ab eis quantum jactus est lapidis: et positis genibus orabat, 22:41 kai autoj apespasqh ap autwn wsei liqou bolhn kai qeij ta gonata proshuxeto 22:41 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,
22:42 dicens: Pater, si vis, transfer calicem istum a me: verumtamen non mea voluntas, sed tua fiat. 22:42 legwn pater ei boulei parenegke to pothrion touto ap emou plhn mh to qelhma mou alla to son genesqw 22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
22:43 Apparuit autem illi angelus de cælo, confortans eum. Et factus in agonia, prolixius orabat. 22:43 wfqh de autw aggeloj ap ouranou enisxuwn auton 22:43 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.
22:44 Et factus est sudor ejus sicut guttæ sanguinis decurrentis in terram. 22:44 kai genomenoj en agwnia ektenesteron proshuxeto egeneto de o idrwj autou wsei qromboi aimatoj katabainontej epi thn ghn 22:44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
22:45 Et cum surrexisset ab oratione et venisset ad discipulos suos, invenit eos dormientes præ tristitia. 22:45 kai anastaj apo thj proseuxhj elqwn proj touj maqhtaj autou euren autouj koimwmenouj apo thj luphj 22:45 And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow,
22:46 Et ait illis: Quid dormitis? surgite, orate, ne intretis in tentationem. 22:46 kai eipen autoij ti kaqeudete anastantej proseuxesqe ina mh eiselqhte eij peirasmon 22:46 And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.
22:47 Adhuc eo loquente, ecce turba: et qui vocabatur Judas, unus de duodecim, antecedebat eos, et appropinquavit Jesu ut oscularetur eum. 22:47 eti de autou lalountoj idou oxloj kai o legomenoj ioudaj eij twn dwdeka prohrxeto autwn kai hggisen tw ihsou filhsai auton 22:47 And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.
22:48 Jesus autem dixit illi: Juda, osculo Filium hominis tradis? 22:48 o de ihsouj eipen autw iouda filhmati ton uion tou anqrwpou paradidwj 22:48 But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?
22:49 Videntes autem hi qui circa ipsum erant, quod futurum erat, dixerunt ei: Domine, si percutimus in gladio? 22:49 idontej de oi peri auton to esomenon eipon autw kurie ei patacomen en maxaira 22:49 When they which were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?
Luke 22:50 Et percussit unus ex illis servum principis sacerdotum, et amputavit auriculam ejus dexteram. Luke 22:50 kai epatacen eij tij ec autwn ton doulon tou arxierewj kai afeilen autou to ouj to decion Luke 22:50 And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.
22:51 Respondens autem Jesus, ait: Sinite usque huc. Et cum tetigisset auriculam ejus, sanavit eum. 22:51 apokriqeij de o ihsouj eipen eate ewj toutou kai ayamenoj tou wtiou autou iasato auton 22:51 And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.
22:52 Dixit autem Jesus ad eos qui venerant ad se principes sacerdotum, et magistratus templi, et seniores: Quasi ad latronem existis cum gladiis et fustibus? 22:52 eipen de o ihsouj proj touj paragenomenouj ep auton arxiereij kai strathgouj tou ierou kai presbuterouj wj epi lhsthn ecelhluqate meta maxairwn kai culwn 22:52 Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves?
22:53 Cum quotidie vobiscum fuerim in templo, non extendistis manus in me: sed hæc est hora vestra, et potestas tenebrarum. 22:53 kaq hmeran ontoj mou meq umwn en tw ierw ouk eceteinate taj xeiraj ep eme all auth umwn estin h wra kai h ecousia tou skotouj 22:53 When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.
22:54 Comprehendentes autem eum, duxerunt ad domum principis sacerdotum: Petrus vero sequebatur a longe. 22:54 sullabontej de auton hgagon kai eishgagon auton eij ton oikon tou arxierewj o de petroj hkolouqei makroqen 22:54 Then took they him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest's house. And Peter followed afar off.
22:55 Accenso autem igne in medio atrii et circumsedentibus illis, erat Petrus in medio eorum. 22:55 ayantwn de pur en mesw thj aulhj kai sugkaqisantwn autwn ekaqhto o petroj en mesw autwn 22:55 And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were set down together, Peter sat down among them.
22:56 Quem cum vidisset ancilla quædam sedentem ad lumen, et eum fuisset intuita, dixit: Et hic cum illo erat. 22:56 idousa de auton paidiskh tij kaqhmenon proj to fwj kai atenisasa autw eipen kai outoj sun autw hn 22:56 But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him.
22:57 At ille negavit eum, dicens: Mulier, non novi illum. 22:57 o de hrnhsato auton legwn gunai ouk oida auton 22:57 And he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not.
22:58 Et post pusillum alius videns eum, dixit: Et tu de illis es. Petrus vero ait: O homo, non sum. 22:58 kai meta braxu eteroj idwn auton efh kai su ec autwn ei o de petroj eipen anqrwpe ouk eimi 22:58 And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou art also of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not.
22:59 Et intervallo facto quasi horæ unius, alius quidam affirmabat, dicens: Vere et hic cum illo erat: nam et Galilæus est. 22:59 kai diastashj wsei wraj miaj alloj tij diisxurizeto legwn ep alhqeiaj kai outoj met autou hn kai gar galilaioj estin 22:59 And about the space of one hour after another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this fellow also was with him: for he is a Galilaean.
Luke 22:60 Et ait Petrus: Homo, nescio quid dicis. Et continuo, adhuc illo loquente, cantavit gallus. Luke 22:60 eipen de o petroj anqrwpe ouk oida o legeij kai paraxrhma eti lalountoj autou efwnhsen o alektwr Luke 22:60 And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew.
22:61 Et conversus Dominus respexit Petrum, et recordatus est Petrus verbi Domini, sicut dixerat: Quia priusquam gallus cantet, ter me negabis. 22:61 kai strafeij o kurioj enebleyen tw petrw kai upemnhsqh o petroj tou logou tou kuriou wj eipen autw oti prin alektora fwnhsai aparnhsh me trij 22:61 And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.
22:62 Et egressus foras Petrus flevit amare. 22:62 kai ecelqwn ecw o petroj eklausen pikrwj 22:62 And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.
22:63 Et viri qui tenebant illum, illudebant ei, cædentes. 22:63 kai oi andrej oi sunexontej ton ihsoun enepaizon autw derontej 22:63 And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and smote him.
22:64 Et velaverunt eum, et percutiebant faciem ejus: et interrogabant eum, dicentes: Prophetiza, quis est, qui te percussit? 22:64 kai perikaluyantej auton etupton autou to proswpon kai ephrwtwn auton legontej profhteuson tij estin o paisaj se 22:64 And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote thee?
22:65 Et alia multa blasphemantes dicebant in eum. 22:65 kai etera polla blasfhmountej elegon eij auton 22:65 And many other things blasphemously spake they against him.
22:66 Et ut factus est dies, convenerunt seniores plebis, et principes sacerdotum, et scribæ, et duxerunt illum in concilium suum, dicentes: Si tu es Christus, dic nobis. 22:66 kai wj egeneto hmera sunhxqh to presbuterion tou laou arxiereij te kai grammateij kai anhgagon auton eij to sunedrion eautwn legontej 22:66 And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council, saying,
22:67 Et ait illis: Si vobis dixero, non credetis mihi: 22:67 ei su ei o xristoj eipe hmin eipen de autoij ean umin eipw ou mh pisteushte 22:67 Art thou the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:
22:68 si autem et interrogavero, non respondebitis mihi, neque dimittetis. 22:68 ean de kai erwthsw ou mh apokriqhte moi h apolushte 22:68 And if I also ask you, ye will not answer me, nor let me go.
22:69 Ex hoc autem erit Filius hominis sedens a dextris virtutis Dei. 22:69 apo tou nun estai o uioj tou anqrwpou kaqhmenoj ek deciwn thj dunamewj tou qeou 22:69 Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.
Luke 22:70 Dixerunt autem omnes: Tu ergo es Filius Dei? Qui ait: Vos dicitis, quia ego sum. Luke 22:70 eipon de pantej su oun ei o uioj tou qeou o de proj autouj efh umeij legete oti egw eimi Luke 22:70 Then said they all, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am.
22:71 At illi dixerunt: Quid adhuc desideramus testimonium? ipsi enim audivimus de ore ejus. 22:71 oi de eipon ti eti xreian exomen marturiaj autoi gar hkousamen apo tou stomatoj autou 22:71 And they said, What need we any further witness? for we ourselves have heard of his own mouth.
