Luke 21:1 Respiciens autem, vidit eos qui mittebant munera sua in gazophylacium, divites. Luke 21:1 anableyaj de eiden touj ballontaj ta dwra autwn eij to gazofulakion plousiouj Luke 21:1 And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.
21:2 Vidit autem et quamdam viduam pauperculam mittentem æra minuta duo. 21:2 eiden de kai tina xhran penixran ballousan ekei duo lepta 21:2 And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.
21:3 Et dixit: Vere dico vobis, quia vidua hæc pauper plus quam omnes misit. 21:3 kai eipen alhqwj legw umin oti h xhra h ptwxh auth pleion pantwn ebalen 21:3 And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:
21:4 Nam omnes hi ex abundanti sibi miserunt in munera Dei: hæc autem ex eo quod deest illi, omnem victum suum quem habuit, misit. 21:4 apantej gar outoi ek tou perisseuontoj autoij ebalon eij ta dwra tou qeou auth de ek tou usterhmatoj authj apanta ton bion on eixen ebalen 21:4 For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.
21:5 Et quibusdam dicentibus de templo quod bonis lapidibus et donis ornatum esset, dixit: 21:5 kai tinwn legontwn peri tou ierou oti liqoij kaloij kai anaqhmasin kekosmhtai eipen 21:5 And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said,
21:6 Hæc quæ videtis, venient dies in quibus non relinquetur lapis super lapidem, qui non destruatur. 21:6 tauta a qewreite eleusontai hmerai en aij ouk afeqhsetai liqoj epi liqw oj ou kataluqhsetai 21:6 As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
21:7 Interrogaverunt autem illum, dicentes: Præceptor, quando hæc erunt, et quod signum cum fieri incipient? 21:7 ephrwthsan de auton legontej didaskale pote oun tauta estai kai ti to shmeion otan mellh tauta ginesqai 21:7 And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?
21:8 Qui dixit: Videte ne seducamini: multi enim venient in nomine meo, dicentes quia ego sum: et tempus appropinquavit: nolite ergo ire post eos. 21:8 o de eipen blepete mh planhqhte polloi gar eleusontai epi tw onomati mou legontej oti egw eimi kai o kairoj hggiken mh oun poreuqhte opisw autwn 21:8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.
21:9 Cum autem audieritis prælia et seditiones, nolite terreri: oportet primum hæc fieri, sed nondum statim finis. 21:9 otan de akoushte polemouj kai akatastasiaj mh ptohqhte dei gar tauta genesqai prwton all ouk euqewj to teloj 21:9 But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.
Luke 21:10 Tunc dicebat illis: Surget gens contra gentem, et regnum adversus regnum. Luke 21:10 tote elegen autoij egerqhsetai eqnoj epi eqnoj kai basileia epi basileian Luke 21:10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:
21:11 Et terræmotus magni erunt per loca, et pestilentiæ, et fames, terroresque de cælo, et signa magna erunt. 21:11 seismoi te megaloi kata topouj kai limoi kai loimoi esontai fobhtra te kai shmeia ap ouranou megala estai 21:11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
21:12 Sed ante hæc omnia injicient vobis manus suas, et persequentur tradentes in synagogas et custodias, trahentes ad reges et præsides propter nomen meum: 21:12 pro de toutwn apantwn epibalousin ef umaj taj xeiraj autwn kai diwcousin paradidontej eij sunagwgaj kai fulakaj agomenouj epi basileij kai hgemonaj eneken tou onomatoj mou 21:12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.
21:13 continget autem vobis in testimonium. 21:13 apobhsetai de umin eij marturion 21:13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony.
21:14 Ponite ergo in cordibus vestris non præmeditari quemadmodum respondeatis: 21:14 qesqe oun eij taj kardiaj umwn mh promeletan apologhqhnai 21:14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:
21:15 ego enim dabo vobis os et sapientiam, cui non poterunt resistere et contradicere omnes adversarii vestri. 21:15 egw gar dwsw umin stoma kai sofian h ou dunhsontai anteipein oude antisthnai pantej oi antikeimenoi umin 21:15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
21:16 Trademini autem a parentibus, et fratribus, et cognatis, et amicis, et morte afficient ex vobis: 21:16 paradoqhsesqe de kai upo gonewn kai adelfwn kai suggenwn kai filwn kai qanatwsousin ec umwn 21:16 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.
21:17 et eritis odio omnibus propter nomen meum: 21:17 kai esesqe misoumenoi upo pantwn dia to onoma mou 21:17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.
21:18 et capillus de capite vestro non peribit. 21:18 kai qric ek thj kefalhj umwn ou mh apolhtai 21:18 But there shall not an hair of your head perish.
21:19 In patientia vestra possidebitis animas vestras. 21:19 en th upomonh umwn kthsasqe taj yuxaj umwn 21:19 In your patience possess ye your souls.
Luke 21:20 Cum autem videritis circumdari ab exercitu Jerusalem, tunc scitote quia appropinquavit desolatio ejus: Luke 21:20 otan de idhte kukloumenhn upo stratopedwn thn ierousalhm tote gnwte oti hggiken h erhmwsij authj Luke 21:20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.
21:21 tunc qui in Judæa sunt, fugiant ad montes, et qui in medio ejus, discedant: et qui in regionibus, non intrent in eam, 21:21 tote oi en th ioudaia feugetwsan eij ta orh kai oi en mesw authj ekxwreitwsan kai oi en taij xwraij mh eiserxesqwsan eij authn 21:21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
21:22 quia dies ultionis hi sunt, ut impleantur omnia quæ scripta sunt. 21:22 oti hmerai ekdikhsewj autai eisin tou plhrwqhnai panta ta gegrammena 21:22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
21:23 Væ autem prægnantibus et nutrientibus in illis diebus! erit enim pressura magna super terram, et ira populo huic. 21:23 ouai de taij en gastri exousaij kai taij qhlazousaij en ekeinaij taij hmeraij estai gar anagkh megalh epi thj ghj kai orgh en tw law toutw 21:23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
21:24 Et cadent in ore gladii, et captivi ducentur in omnes gentes, et Jerusalem calcabitur a gentibus, donec impleantur tempora nationum. 21:24 kai pesountai stomati maxairaj kai aixmalwtisqhsontai eij panta ta eqnh kai ierousalhm estai patoumenh upo eqnwn axri plhrwqwsin kairoi eqnwn 21:24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
21:25 Et erunt signa in sole, et luna, et stellis, et in terris pressura gentium præ confusione sonitus maris, et fluctuum: 21:25 kai estai shmeia en hliw kai selhnh kai astroij kai epi thj ghj sunoxh eqnwn en aporia hxoushj qalasshj kai salou 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
21:26 arescentibus hominibus præ timore, et exspectatione, quæ supervenient universo orbi: nam virtutes cælorum movebuntur: 21:26 apoyuxontwn anqrwpwn apo fobou kai prosdokiaj twn eperxomenwn th oikoumenh ai gar dunameij twn ouranwn saleuqhsontai 21:26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
21:27 et tunc videbunt Filium hominis venientem in nube cum potestate magna et majestate. 21:27 kai tote oyontai ton uion tou anqrwpou erxomenon en nefelh meta dunamewj kai dochj pollhj 21:27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
21:28 His autem fieri incipientibus, respicite, et levate capita vestra: quoniam appropinquat redemptio vestra. 21:28 arxomenwn de toutwn ginesqai anakuyate kai eparate taj kefalaj umwn dioti eggizei h apolutrwsij umwn 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
21:29 Et dixit illis similitudinem: Videte ficulneam, et omnes arbores: 21:29 kai eipen parabolhn autoij idete thn sukhn kai panta ta dendra 21:29 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;
Luke 21:30 cum producunt jam ex se fructum, scitis quoniam prope est æstas. Luke 21:30 otan probalwsin hdh blepontej af eautwn ginwskete oti hdh egguj to qeroj estin Luke 21:30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.
21:31 Ita et vos cum videritis hæc fieri, scitote quoniam prope est regnum Dei. 21:31 outwj kai umeij otan idhte tauta ginomena ginwskete oti egguj estin h basileia tou qeou 21:31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
21:32 Amen dico vobis, quia non præteribit generatio hæc, donec omnia fiant. 21:32 amhn legw umin oti ou mh parelqh h genea auth ewj an panta genhtai 21:32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.
21:33 Cælum et terra transibunt: verba autem mea non transibunt. 21:33 o ouranoj kai h gh pareleusontai oi de logoi mou ou mh parelqwsin 21:33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
21:34 Attendite autem vobis, ne forte graventur corda vestra in crapula, et ebrietate, et curis hujus vitæ, et superveniat in vos repentina dies illa: 21:34 prosexete de eautoij mhpote barunqwsin umwn ai kardiai en kraipalh kai meqh kai merimnaij biwtikaij kai aifnidioj ef umaj episth h hmera ekeinh 21:34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
21:35 tamquam laqueus enim superveniet in omnes qui sedent super faciem omnis terræ. 21:35 wj pagij gar epeleusetai epi pantaj touj kaqhmenouj epi proswpon pashj thj ghj 21:35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
21:36 Vigilate itaque, omni tempore orantes, ut digni habeamini fugere ista omnia quæ futura sunt, et stare ante Filium hominis. 21:36 agrupneite oun en panti kairw deomenoi ina kataciwqhte ekfugein tauta panta ta mellonta ginesqai kai staqhnai emprosqen tou uiou tou anqrwpou 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
21:37 Erat autem diebus docens in templo: noctibus vero exiens, morabatur in monte qui vocatur Oliveti. 21:37 hn de taj hmeraj en tw ierw didaskwn taj de nuktaj ecerxomenoj hulizeto eij to oroj to kaloumenon elaiwn 21:37 And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives.
21:38 Et omnis populus manicabat ad eum in templo audire eum. 21:38 kai paj o laoj wrqrizen proj auton en tw ierw akouein autou 21:38 And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him.
