John 2:1 Et die tertia nuptiæ factæ sunt in Cana Galilææ, et erat mater Jesu ibi. John 2:1 kai th hmera th trith gamoj egeneto en kana thj galilaiaj kai hn h mhthr tou ihsou ekei John 2:1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:
2:2 Vocatus est autem et Jesus, et discipuli ejus, ad nuptias. 2:2 eklhqh de kai o ihsouj kai oi maqhtai autou eij ton gamon 2:2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.
2:3 Et deficiente vino, dicit mater Jesu ad eum: Vinum non habent. 2:3 kai usterhsantoj oinou legei h mhthr tou ihsou proj auton oinon ouk exousin 2:3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
2:4 Et dicit ei Jesus: Quid mihi et tibi est, mulier? nondum venit hora mea. 2:4 legei auth o ihsouj ti emoi kai soi gunai oupw hkei h wra mou 2:4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
2:5 Dicit mater ejus ministris: Quodcumque dixerit vobis, facite. 2:5 legei h mhthr autou toij diakonoij o ti an legh umin poihsate 2:5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
2:6 Erant autem ibi lapideæ hydriæ sex positæ secundum purificationem Judæorum, capientes singulæ metretas binas vel ternas. 2:6 hsan de ekei udriai liqinai ec keimenai kata ton kaqarismon twn ioudaiwn xwrousai ana metrhtaj duo h treij 2:6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.
2:7 Dicit eis Jesus: Implete hydrias aqua. Et impleverunt eas usque ad summum. 2:7 legei autoij o ihsouj gemisate taj udriaj udatoj kai egemisan autaj ewj anw 2:7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
2:8 Et dicit eis Jesus: Haurite nunc, et ferte architriclino. Et tulerunt. 2:8 kai legei autoij antlhsate nun kai ferete tw arxitriklinw kai hnegkan 2:8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.
2:9 Ut autem gustavit architriclinus aquam vinum factam, et non sciebat unde esset, ministri autem sciebant, qui hauserant aquam: vocat sponsum architriclinus, 2:9 wj de egeusato o arxitriklinoj to udwr oinon gegenhmenon kai ouk hdei poqen estin oi de diakonoi hdeisan oi hntlhkotej to udwr fwnei ton numfion o arxitriklinoj 2:9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,
John 2:10 et dicit ei: Omnis homo primum bonum vinum ponit et cum inebriati fuerint, tunc id, quod deterius est. Tu autem servasti bonum vinum usque adhuc. John 2:10 kai legei autw paj anqrwpoj prwton ton kalon oinon tiqhsin kai otan mequsqwsin tote ton elassw su tethrhkaj ton kalon oinon ewj arti John 2:10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.
2:11 Hoc fecit initium signorum Jesus in Cana Galilææ; et manifestavit gloriam suam, et crediderunt in eum discipuli ejus. 2:11 tauthn epoihsen thn arxhn twn shmeiwn o ihsouj en kana thj galilaiaj kai efanerwsen thn docan autou kai episteusan eij auton oi maqhtai autou 2:11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.
2:12 Post hoc descendit Capharnaum ipse, et mater ejus, et fratres ejus, et discipuli ejus: et ibi manserunt non multis diebus. 2:12 meta touto katebh eij kapernaoum autoj kai h mhthr autou kai oi adelfoi autou kai oi maqhtai autou kai ekei emeinan ou pollaj hmeraj 2:12 After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: and they continued there not many days.
2:13 Et prope erat Pascha Judæorum, et ascendit Jesus Jerosolymam: 2:13 kai egguj hn to pasxa twn ioudaiwn kai anebh eij ierosoluma o ihsouj 2:13 And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem,
2:14 et invenit in templo vendentes boves, et oves, et columbas, et numularios sedentes. 2:14 kai euren en tw ierw touj pwlountaj boaj kai probata kai peristeraj kai touj kermatistaj kaqhmenouj 2:14 And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:
2:15 Et cum fecisset quasi flagellum de funiculis, omnes ejecit de templo, oves quoque, et boves, et numulariorum effudit æs, et mensas subvertit. 2:15 kai poihsaj fragellion ek sxoiniwn pantaj ecebalen ek tou ierou ta te probata kai touj boaj kai twn kollubistwn ecexeen to kerma kai taj trapezaj anestreyen 2:15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables;
2:16 Et his qui columbas vendebant, dixit: Auferte ista hinc, et nolite facere domum patris mei, domum negotiationis. 2:16 kai toij taj peristeraj pwlousin eipen arate tauta enteuqen mh poieite ton oikon tou patroj mou oikon emporiou 2:16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise.
2:17 Recordati sunt vero discipuli ejus quia scriptum est: Zelus domus tuæ comedit me. 2:17 emnhsqhsan de oi maqhtai autou oti gegrammenon estin o zhloj tou oikou sou katefagen me 2:17 And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.
2:18 Responderunt ergo Judæi, et dixerunt ei: Quod signum ostendis nobis, quia hæc facis? 2:18 apekriqhsan oun oi ioudaioi kai eipon autw ti shmeion deiknueij hmin oti tauta poieij 2:18 Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?
2:19 Respondit Jesus, et dixit eis: Solvite templum hoc, et in tribus diebus excitabo illud. 2:19 apekriqh o ihsouj kai eipen autoij lusate ton naon touton kai en trisin hmeraij egerw auton 2:19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
John 2:20 Dixerunt ergo Judæi: Quadraginta et sex annis ædificatum est templum hoc, et tu in tribus diebus excitabis illud? John 2:20 eipon oun oi ioudaioi tessarakonta kai ec etesin wkodomhqh o naoj outoj kai su en trisin hmeraij egereij auton John 2:20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?
2:21 Ille autem dicebat de templo corporis sui. 2:21 ekeinoj de elegen peri tou naou tou swmatoj autou 2:21 But he spake of the temple of his body.
2:22 Cum ergo resurrexisset a mortuis, recordati sunt discipuli ejus, quia hoc dicebat, et crediderunt scripturæ et sermoni quem dixit Jesus. 2:22 ote oun hgerqh ek nekrwn emnhsqhsan oi maqhtai autou oti touto elegen autoij kai episteusan th grafh kai tw logw w eipen o ihsouj 2:22 When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.
2:23 Cum autem esset Jerosolymis in Pascha in die festo, multi crediderunt in nomine ejus, videntes signa ejus, quæ faciebat. 2:23 wj de hn en ierosolumoij en tw pasxa en th eorth polloi episteusan eij to onoma autou qewrountej autou ta shmeia a epoiei 2:23 Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.
2:24 Ipse autem Jesus non credebat semetipsum eis, eo quod ipse nosset omnes, 2:24 autoj de o ihsouj ouk episteuen eauton autoij dia to auton ginwskein pantaj 2:24 But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,
2:25 et quia opus ei non erat ut quis testimonium perhiberet de homine: ipse enim sciebat quid esset in homine. 2:25 kai oti ou xreian eixen ina tij marturhsh peri tou anqrwpou autoj gar eginwsken ti hn en tw anqrwpw 2:25 And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.
