JOHN CHAPTER 5

John 5:1 Post hæc erat dies festus Judæorum, et ascendit Jesus Jerosolymam. John 5:1 meta tauta hn eorth twn ioudaiwn kai anebh o ihsouj eij ierosoluma John 5:1 After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

5:3 In his jacebat multitudo magna languentium, cæcorum, claudorum, aridorum, exspectantium aquæ motum. 5:3 en tautaij katekeito plhqoj polu twn asqenountwn tuflwn xwlwn chrwn ekdexomenwn thn tou udatoj kinhsin 5:3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
5:4 aggeloj gar kata kairon katebainen en th kolumbhqra kai etarassen to udwr o oun prwtoj embaj meta thn taraxhn tou udatoj ugihj egineto w dhpote kateixeto noshmati 5:4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
5:5 hn de tij anqrwpoj ekei triakonta kai oktw eth exwn en th asqeneia 5:5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
5:6 touton idwn o ihsouj katakeimenon kai gnouj oti polun hdh xronon exei legei autw qeleij ugihj genesqai 5:6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
5:7 Respondit ei languidus: Domine, hominem non habeo, ut, cum turbata fuerit aqua, mittat me in piscinam: dum venio enim ego, alius ante me descendit. 5:7 apekriqh autw o asqenwn kurie anqrwpon ouk exw ina otan taraxqh to udwr ballh me eij thn kolumbhqran en w de erxomai egw alloj pro emou katabainei 5:7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
5:8 legei autw o ihsouj egeirai aron ton krabbaton sou kai peripatei 5:8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
5:9 kai euqewj egeneto ugihj o anqrwpoj kai hren ton krabbaton autou kai periepatei hn de sabbaton en ekeinh th hmera 5:9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
John 5:10 elegon oun oi ioudaioi tw teqerapeumenw sabbaton estin ouk ecestin soi arai ton krabbaton John 5:10 The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.

Jesus enim declinavit a turba constituta in loco. 5:13 o de iaqeij ouk hdei tij estin o gar ihsouj eceneusen oxlou ontoj en tw topw 5:13 And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.

5:19 apekrinato oun o ihsouj kai eipen autoij amhn amhn legw umin ou dunatai o uioj poiein af eautou ouden ean mh ti bleph ton patera poiounta a gar an ekeinoj poih tauta kai o uioj omoiwj poiei 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
