John 10:1 Amen, amen dico vobis: qui non intrat per ostium in ovile ovium, sed ascendit aliunde, ille fur est et latro. John 10:1 amhn amhn legw umin o mh eiserxomenoj dia thj quraj eij thn aulhn twn probatwn alla anabainwn allaxoqen ekeinoj klepthj estin kai lhsthj John 10:1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
10:2 Qui autem intrat per ostium, pastor est ovium. 10:2 o de eiserxomenoj dia thj quraj poimhn estin twn probatwn 10:2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
10:3 Huic ostiarius aperit, et oves vocem ejus audiunt, et proprias ovas vocat nominatim, et educit eas. 10:3 toutw o qurwroj anoigei kai ta probata thj fwnhj autou akouei kai ta idia probata kalei kat onoma kai ecagei auta 10:3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
10:4 Et cum proprias oves emiserit, ante eas vadit: et oves illum sequuntur, quia sciunt vocem ejus. 10:4 kai otan ta idia probata ekbalh emprosqen autwn poreuetai kai ta probata autw akolouqei oti oidasin thn fwnhn autou 10:4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
10:5 Alienum autem non sequuntur, sed fugiunt ab eo: quia non noverunt vocem alienorum. 10:5 allotriw de ou mh akolouqhswsin alla feucontai ap autou oti ouk oidasin twn allotriwn thn fwnhn 10:5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.
10:6 Hoc proverbium dixit eis Jesus: illi autem non cognoverunt quid loqueretur eis. 10:6 tauthn thn paroimian eipen autoij o ihsouj ekeinoi de ouk egnwsan tina hn a elalei autoij 10:6 This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.
10:7 Dixit ergo eis iterum Jesus: Amen, amen dico vobis, quia ego sum ostium ovium. 10:7 eipen oun palin autoij o ihsouj amhn amhn legw umin oti egw eimi h qura twn probatwn 10:7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
10:8 Omnes quotquot venerunt, fures sunt, et latrones, et non audierunt eos oves. 10:8 pantej osoi pro emou hlqon kleptai eisin kai lhstai all ouk hkousan autwn ta probata 10:8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
10:9 Ego sum ostium. Per me si quis introierit, salvabitur: et ingredietur, et egredietur, et pascua inveniet. 10:9 egw eimi h qura di emou ean tij eiselqh swqhsetai kai eiseleusetai kai eceleusetai kai nomhn eurhsei 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
John 10:10 Fur non venit nisi ut furetur, et mactet, et perdat. Ego veni ut vitam habeant, et abundantius habeant. John 10:10 o klepthj ouk erxetai ei mh ina kleyh kai qush kai apolesh egw hlqon ina zwhn exwsin kai perisson exwsin John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
10:11 Ego sum pastor bonus. Bonus pastor animam suam dat pro ovibus suis. 10:11 egw eimi o poimhn o kaloj o poimhn o kaloj thn yuxhn autou tiqhsin uper twn probatwn 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
10:12 Mercenarius autem, et qui non est pastor, cujus non sunt oves propriæ, videt lupum venientem, et dimittit oves, et fugit: et lupus rapit, et dispergit oves; 10:12 o misqwtoj de kai ouk wn poimhn ou ouk eisin ta probata idia qewrei ton lukon erxomenon kai afihsin ta probata kai feugei kai o lukoj arpazei auta kai skorpizei ta probata 10:12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
10:13 mercenarius autem fugit, quia mercenarius est, et non pertinet ad eum de ovibus. 10:13 o de misqwtoj feugei oti misqwtoj estin kai ou melei autw peri twn probatwn 10:13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.
10:14 Ego sum pastor bonus: et cognosco meas, et cognoscunt me meæ. 10:14 egw eimi o poimhn o kaloj kai ginwskw ta ema kai ginwskomai upo twn emwn 10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
10:15 Sicut novit me Pater, et ego agnosco Patrem: et animam meam pono pro ovibus meis. 10:15 kaqwj ginwskei me o pathr kagw ginwskw ton patera kai thn yuxhn mou tiqhmi uper twn probatwn 10:15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
10:16 Et alias oves habeo, quæ non sunt ex hoc ovili: et illas oportet me adducere, et vocem meam audient, et fiet unum ovile et unus pastor. 10:16 kai alla probata exw a ouk estin ek thj aulhj tauthj kakeina me dei agagein kai thj fwnhj mou akousousin kai genhsetai mia poimnh eij poimhn 10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
10:17 Propterea me diligit Pater: quia ego pono animam meam, ut iterum sumam eam. 10:17 dia touto o pathr me agapa oti egw tiqhmi thn yuxhn mou ina palin labw authn 10:17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
10:18 Nemo tollit eam a me: sed ego pono eam a meipso, et potestatem habeo ponendi eam, et potestatem habeo iterum sumendi eam. Hoc mandatum accepi a Patre meo. 10:18 oudeij airei authn ap emou all egw tiqhmi authn ap emautou ecousian exw qeinai authn kai ecousian exw palin labein authn tauthn thn entolhn elabon para tou patroj mou 10:18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
10:19 Dissensio iterum facta est inter Judæos propter sermones hos. 10:19 sxisma oun palin egeneto en toij ioudaioij dia touj logouj toutouj 10:19 There was a division therefore again among the Jews for these sayings.
John 10:20 Dicebant autem multi ex ipsis: Dæmonium habet, et insanit: quid eum auditis? John 10:20 elegon de polloi ec autwn daimonion exei kai mainetai ti autou akouete John 10:20 And many of them said, He hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him?
10:21 Alii dicebant: Hæc verba non sunt dæmonium habentis: numquid dæmonium potest cæcorum oculos aperire? 10:21 alloi elegon tauta ta rhmata ouk estin daimonizomenou mh daimonion dunatai tuflwn ofqalmouj anoigein 10:21 Others said, These are not the words of him that hath a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?
10:22 Facta sunt autem Encænia in Jerosolymis, et hiems erat. 10:22 egeneto de ta egkainia en toij ierosolumoij kai xeimwn hn 10:22 And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.
10:23 Et ambulabat Jesus in templo, in porticu Salomonis. 10:23 kai periepatei o ihsouj en tw ierw en th stoa tou solomwntoj 10:23 And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.
10:24 Circumdederunt ergo eum Judæi, et dicebant ei: Quousque animam nostram tollis? si tu es Christus, dic nobis palam. 10:24 ekuklwsan oun auton oi ioudaioi kai elegon autw ewj pote thn yuxhn hmwn aireij ei su ei o xristoj eipe hmin parrhsia 10:24 Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.
10:25 Respondit eis Jesus: Loquor vobis, et non creditis: opera quæ ego facio in nomine Patris mei, hæc testimonium perhibent de me: 10:25 apekriqh autoij o ihsouj eipon umin kai ou pisteuete ta erga a egw poiw en tw onomati tou patroj mou tauta marturei peri emou 10:25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.
10:26 sed vos non creditis, quia non estis ex ovibus meis. 10:26 all umeij ou pisteuete ou gar este ek twn probatwn twn emwn kaqwj eipon umin 10:26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
10:27 Oves meæ vocem meam audiunt, et ego cognosco eas, et sequuntur me: 10:27 ta probata ta ema thj fwnhj mou akouei kagw ginwskw auta kai akolouqousin moi 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
10:28 et ego vitam æternam do eis, et non peribunt in æternum, et non rapiet eas quisquam de manu mea. 10:28 kagw zwhn aiwnion didwmi autoij kai ou mh apolwntai eij ton aiwna kai oux arpasei tij auta ek thj xeiroj mou 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
10:29 Pater meus quod dedit mihi, majus omnibus est: et nemo potest rapere de manu Patris mei. 10:29 o pathr mou oj dedwken moi meizwn pantwn estin kai oudeij dunatai arpazein ek thj xeiroj tou patroj mou 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
John 10:30 Ego et Pater unum sumus. John 10:30 egw kai o pathr en esmen John 10:30 I and my Father are one.
10:31 Sustulerunt ergo lapides Judæi, ut lapidarent eum. 10:31 ebastasan oun palin liqouj oi ioudaioi ina liqaswsin auton 10:31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
10:32 Respondit eis Jesus: Multa bona opera ostendi vobis ex Patre meo: propter quod eorum opus me lapidatis? 10:32 apekriqh autoij o ihsouj polla kala erga edeica umin ek tou patroj mou dia poion autwn ergon liqazete me 10:32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
10:33 Responderunt ei Judæi: De bono opere non lapidamus te, sed de blasphemia; et quia tu homo cum sis, facis teipsum Deum. 10:33 apekriqhsan autw oi ioudaioi legontej peri kalou ergou ou liqazomen se alla peri blasfhmiaj kai oti su anqrwpoj wn poieij seauton qeon 10:33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
10:34 Respondit eis Jesus: Nonne scriptum est in lege vestra, Quia ego dixi: Dii estis? 10:34 apekriqh autoij o ihsouj ouk estin gegrammenon en tw nomw umwn egw eipa qeoi este 10:34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
10:35 Si illos dixit deos, ad quos sermo Dei factus est, et non potest solvi Scriptura: 10:35 ei ekeinouj eipen qeouj proj ouj o logoj tou qeou egeneto kai ou dunatai luqhnai h grafh 10:35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
10:36 quem Pater sanctificavit, et misit in mundum vos dicitis: Quia blasphemas, quia dixi: Filius Dei sum? 10:36 on o pathr hgiasen kai apesteilen eij ton kosmon umeij legete oti blasfhmeij oti eipon uioj tou qeou eimi 10:36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?
10:37 Si non facio opera Patris mei, nolite credere mihi. 10:37 ei ou poiw ta erga tou patroj mou mh pisteuete moi 10:37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
10:38 Si autem facio: etsi mihi non vultis credere, operibus credite, ut cognoscatis, et credatis quia Pater in me est, et ego in Patre. 10:38 ei de poiw kan emoi mh pisteuhte toij ergoij pisteusate ina gnwte kai pisteushte oti en emoi o pathr kagw en autw 10:38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.
10:39 Quærebant ergo eum apprehendere: et exivit de manibus eorum. 10:39 ezhtoun oun palin auton piasai kai echlqen ek thj xeiroj autwn 10:39 Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand,
John 10:40 Et abiit iterum trans Jordanem, in eum locum ubi erat Joannes baptizans primum, et mansit illic; John 10:40 kai aphlqen palin peran tou iordanou eij ton topon opou hn iwannhj to prwton baptizwn kai emeinen ekei John 10:40 And went away again beyond Jordan into the place where John at first baptized; and there he abode.
10:41 et multi venerunt ad eum, et dicebant: Quia Joannes quidem signum fecit nullum. Omnia autem quæcumque dixit Joannes de hoc, vera erant. 10:41 kai polloi hlqon proj auton kai elegon oti iwannhj men shmeion epoihsen ouden panta de osa eipen iwannhj peri toutou alhqh hn 10:41 And many resorted unto him, and said, John did no miracle: but all things that John spake of this man were true.
10:42 Et multi crediderunt in eum. 10:42 kai episteusan polloi ekei eij auton 10:42 And many believed on him there.
