John 15:1 Ego sum vitis vera, et Pater meus agricola est. John 15:1 egw eimi h ampeloj h alhqinh kai o pathr mou o gewrgoj estin John 15:1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
15:2 Omnem palmitem in me non ferentem fructum, tollet eum, et omnem qui fert fructum, purgabit eum, ut fructum plus afferat. 15:2 pan klhma en emoi mh feron karpon airei auto kai pan to karpon feron kaqairei auto ina pleiona karpon ferh 15:2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
15:3 Jam vos mundi estis propter sermonem quem locutus sum vobis. 15:3 hdh umeij kaqaroi este dia ton logon on lelalhka umin 15:3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
15:4 Manete in me, et ego in vobis. Sicut palmes non potest fere fructum a semetipso, nisi manserit in vite, sic nec vos, nisi in me manseritis. 15:4 meinate en emoi kagw en umin kaqwj to klhma ou dunatai karpon ferein af eautou ean mh meinh en th ampelw outwj oude umeij ean mh en emoi meinhte 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
15:5 Ego sum vitis, vos palmites: qui manet in me, et ego in eo, hic fert fructum multum, quia sine me nihil potestis facere. 15:5 egw eimi h ampeloj umeij ta klhmata o menwn en emoi kagw en autw outoj ferei karpon polun oti xwrij emou ou dunasqe poiein ouden 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
15:6 Si quis in me non manserit, mittetur foras sicut palmes, et arescet, et colligent eum, et in ignem mittent, et ardet. 15:6 ean mh tij meinh en emoi eblhqh ecw wj to klhma kai echranqh kai sunagousin auta kai eij pur ballousin kai kaietai 15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
15:7 Si manseritis in me, et verba mea in vobis manserint, quodcumque volueritis petetis, et fiet vobis. 15:7 ean meinhte en emoi kai ta rhmata mou en umin meinh o ean qelhte aithsesqe kai genhsetai umin 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
15:8 In hoc clarificatus est Pater meus, ut fructum plurimum afferatis, et efficiamini mei discipuli. 15:8 en toutw edocasqh o pathr mou ina karpon polun ferhte kai genhsesqe emoi maqhtai 15:8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
15:9 Sicut dilexit me Pater, et ego dilexi vos. Manete in dilectione mea. 15:9 kaqwj hgaphsen me o pathr kagw hgaphsa umaj meinate en th agaph th emh 15:9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
John 15:10 Si præcepta mea servaveritis, manebitis in dilectione mea, sicut et ego Patris mei præcepta servavi, et maneo in ejus dilectione. John 15:10 ean taj entolaj mou thrhshte meneite en th agaph mou kaqwj egw taj entolaj tou patroj mou tethrhka kai menw autou en th agaph John 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
15:11 Hæc locutus sum vobis: ut gaudium meum in vobis sit, et gaudium vestrum impleatur. 15:11 tauta lelalhka umin ina h xara h emh en umin meinh kai h xara umwn plhrwqh 15:11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
15:12 Hoc est præceptum meum, ut diligatis invicem, sicut dilexi vos. 15:12 auth estin h entolh h emh ina agapate allhlouj kaqwj hgaphsa umaj 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
15:13 Majorem hac dilectionem nemo habet, ut animam suam ponat qui pro amicis suis. 15:13 meizona tauthj agaphn oudeij exei ina tij thn yuxhn autou qh uper twn filwn autou 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
15:14 Vos amici mei estis, si feceritis quæ ego præcipio vobis. 15:14 umeij filoi mou este ean poihte osa egw entellomai umin 15:14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
15:15 Jam non dicam vos servos: quia servus nescit quid faciat dominus ejus. Vos autem dixi amicos: quia omnia quæcumque audivi a Patre meo, nota feci vobis. 15:15 ouketi umaj legw doulouj oti o douloj ouk oiden ti poiei autou o kurioj umaj de eirhka filouj oti panta a hkousa para tou patroj mou egnwrisa umin 15:15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
15:16 Non vos me elegistis, sed ego elegi vos, et posui vos ut eatis, et fructum afferatis, et fructus vester maneat: ut quodcumque petieritis Patrem in nomine meo, det vobis. 15:16 oux umeij me ecelecasqe all egw ecelecamhn umaj kai eqhka umaj ina umeij upaghte kai karpon ferhte kai o karpoj umwn menh ina o ti an aithshte ton patera en tw onomati mou dw umin 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
15:17 Hæc mando vobis: ut diligatis invicem. 15:17 tauta entellomai umin ina agapate allhlouj 15:17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.
15:18 Si mundus vos odit, scitote quia me priorem vobis odio habuit. 15:18 ei o kosmoj umaj misei ginwskete oti eme prwton umwn memishken 15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
15:19 Si de mundo fuissetis, mundus quod suum erat diligeret: quia vero de mundo non estis, sed ego elegi vos de mundo, propterea odit vos mundus. 15:19 ei ek tou kosmou hte o kosmoj an to idion efilei oti de ek tou kosmou ouk este all egw ecelecamhn umaj ek tou kosmou dia touto misei umaj o kosmoj 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
John 15:20 Mementote sermonis mei, quem ego dixi vobis: non est servus major domino suo. Si me persecuti sunt, et vos persequentur; si sermonem meum servaverunt, et vestrum servabunt. John 15:20 mnhmoneuete tou logou ou egw eipon umin ouk estin douloj meizwn tou kuriou autou ei eme ediwcan kai umaj diwcousin ei ton logon mou ethrhsan kai ton umeteron thrhsousin John 15:20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
15:21 Sed hæc omnia facient vobis propter nomen meum: quia nesciunt eum qui misit me. 15:21 alla tauta panta poihsousin umin dia to onoma mou oti ouk oidasin ton pemyanta me 15:21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.
15:22 Si non venissem, et locutus fuissem eis, peccatum non haberent: nunc autem excusationem non habent de peccato suo. 15:22 ei mh hlqon kai elalhsa autoij amartian ouk eixon nun de profasin ouk exousin peri thj amartiaj autwn 15:22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.
15:23 Qui me odit, et Patrem meum odit. 15:23 o eme miswn kai ton patera mou misei 15:23 He that hateth me hateth my Father also.
15:24 Si opera non fecissem in eis quæ nemo alius fecit, peccatum non haberent: nunc autem et viderunt, et oderunt et me, et Patrem meum. 15:24 ei ta erga mh epoihsa en autoij a oudeij alloj pepoihken amartian ouk eixon nun de kai ewrakasin kai memishkasin kai eme kai ton patera mou 15:24 If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.
15:25 Sed ut adimpleatur sermo, qui in lege eorum scriptus est: Quia odio habuerunt me gratis. 15:25 all ina plhrwqh o logoj o gegrammenoj en tw nomw autwn oti emishsan me dwrean 15:25 But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.
15:26 Cum autem venerit Paraclitus, quem ego mittam vobis a Patre, Spiritum veritatis, qui a Patre procedit, ille testimonium perhibebit de me; 15:26 otan de elqh o paraklhtoj on egw pemyw umin para tou patroj to pneuma thj alhqeiaj o para tou patroj ekporeuetai ekeinoj marturhsei peri emou 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
15:27 et vos testimonium perhibebitis, quia ab initio mecum estis. 15:27 kai umeij de martureite oti ap arxhj met emou este 15:27 And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.
