Revelation 1:1 Apocalypsis Jesu Christi, quam dedit illi Deus palam facere servis suis, quæ oportet fieri cito: et significavit, mittens per angelum suum servo suo Joanni, Revelation 1:1 apokaluyij ihsou xristou hn edwken autw o qeoj deicai toij douloij autou a dei genesqai en taxei kai eshmanen aposteilaj dia tou aggelou autou tw doulw autou iwannh Revelation 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:
1:2 qui testimonium perhibuit verbo Dei, et testimonium Jesu Christi, quæcumque vidit. 1:2 oj emarturhsen ton logon tou qeou kai thn marturian ihsou xristou osa te eiden 1:2 Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.
1:3 Beatus qui legit, et audit verba prophetiæ hujus, et servat ea, quæ in ea scripta sunt: tempus enim prope est. 1:3 makarioj o anaginwskwn kai oi akouontej touj logouj thj profhteiaj kai thrountej ta en auth gegrammena o gar kairoj egguj 1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
1:4 Joannes septem ecclesiis, quæ sunt in Asia. Gratia vobis, et pax ab eo, qui est, et qui erat, et qui venturus est: et a septem spiritibus qui in conspectu throni ejus sunt: 1:4 iwannhj taij epta ekklhsiaij taij en th asia xarij umin kai eirhnh apo tou o wn kai o hn kai o erxomenoj kai apo twn epta pneumatwn a estin enwpion tou qronou autou 1:4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;
1:5 et a Jesu Christo, qui est testis fidelis, primogenitus mortuorum, et princeps regum terræ, qui dilexit nos, et lavit nos a peccatis nostris in sanguine suo, 1:5 kai apo ihsou xristou o martuj o pistoj o prwtotokoj ek twn nekrwn kai o arxwn twn basilewn thj ghj tw agaphsanti hmaj kai lousanti hmaj apo twn amartiwn hmwn en tw aimati autou 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
1:6 et fecit nos regnum, et sacerdotes Deo et Patri suo: ipsi gloria et imperium in sæcula sæculorum. 1:7 Ecce venit cum nubibus, et videbit eum omnis oculus, et qui eum pupugerunt. Et plangent se super eum omnes tribus terræ. Etiam: amen. 1:7 idou erxetai meta twn nefelwn kai oyetai auton paj ofqalmoj kai oitinej auton ecekenthsan kai koyontai ep auton pasai ai fulai thj ghj nai amhn 1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
1:8 Ego sum alpha et omega, principium et finis, dicit Dominus Deus: qui est, et qui erat, et qui venturus est, omnipotens. 1:8 egw eimi to a kai to w arxh kai teloj legei o kurioj o wn kai o hn kai o erxomenoj o pantokratwr 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
1:9 Ego Joannes frater vester, et particeps in tribulatione, et regno, et patientia in Christo Jesu: fui in insula, quæ appellatur Patmos, propter verbum Dei, et testimonium Jesu: 1:9 egw iwannhj o kai adelfoj umwn kai sugkoinwnoj en th qliyei kai en th basileia kai upomonh ihsou xristou egenomhn en th nhsw th kaloumenh patmw dia ton logon tou qeou kai dia thn marturian ihsou xristou 1:9 I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

1:12 Et conversus sum ut viderem vocem, quæ loquebatur mecum: et conversus vidi septem candelabra aurea: 1:12 kai epestreya blepein thn fwnhn htij elalhsen met emou kai epistreyaj eidon epta luxniaj xrusaj 1:12 And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;
1:13 et in medio septem candelabrorum aureorum, similem Filio hominis vestitum podere, et præcinctum ad mamillas zona aurea: 1:13 kai en mesw twn epta luxniwn omoion uiw anqrwpou endedumenon podhrh kai periezwsmenon proj toij mastoij zwnhn xrushn 1:13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.
1:14 caput autem ejus, et capilli erant candidi tamquam lana alba, et tamquam nix, et oculi ejus tamquam flamma ignis: 1:14 h de kefalh autou kai ai trixej leukai wsei erion leukon wj xiwn kai oi ofqalmoi autou wj floc puroj 1:14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
1:15 et pedes ejus similes auricalco, sicut in camino ardenti, et vox illius tamquam vox aquarum multarum: 1:15 kai oi podej autou omoioi xalkolibanw wj en kaminw pepurwmenoi kai h fwnh autou wj fwnh udatwn pollwn 1:15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.
1:16 et habebat in dextera sua stellas septem: et de ore ejus gladius utraque parte acutus exibat: et facies ejus sicut sol lucet in virtute sua. 1:16 kai exwn en th decia autou xeiri asteraj epta kai ek tou stomatoj autou romfaia distomoj oceia ekporeuomenh kai h oyij autou wj o hlioj fainei en th dunamei autou 1:16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.
1:17 Et cum vidissem eum, cecidi ad pedes ejus tamquam mortuus. Et posuit dexteram suam super me, dicens: Noli timere: ego sum primus, et novissimus, 1:17 kai ote eidon auton epesa proj touj podaj autou wj nekroj kai epeqhken thn decian autou xeira ep eme legwn moi mh fobou egw eimi o prwtoj kai o esxatoj 1:17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
1:18 et vivus, et fui mortuus, et ecce sum vivens in sæcula sæculorum: et habeo claves mortis, et inferni. 1:18 kai o zwn kai egenomhn nekroj kai idou zwn eimi eij touj aiwnaj twn aiwnwn amhn kai exw taj kleij tou adou kai tou qanatou 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
1:19 Scribe ergo quæ vidisti, et quæ sunt, et quæ oportet fieri post hæc. 1:19 grayon a eidej kai a eisin kai a mellei ginesqai meta tauta 1:19 Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;
Revelation 1:20 Sacramentum septem stellarum, quas vidisti in dextera mea, et septem candelabra aurea: septem stellæ, angeli sunt septem ecclesiarum: et candelabra septem, septem ecclesiæ sunt. Revelation 1:20 to musthrion twn epta asterwn wn eidej epi thj deciaj mou kai taj epta luxniaj taj xrusaj oi epta asterej aggeloi twn epta ekklhsiwn eisin kai ai epta luxniai aj eidej epta ekklhsiai eisin Revelation 1:20 The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.
