Revelation 21:1 Et vidi cælum novum et terram novam. Primum enim cælum, et prima terra abiit, et mare jam non est. Revelation 21:1 kai eidon ouranon kainon kai ghn kainhn o gar prwtoj ouranoj kai h prwth gh parhlqen kai h qalassa ouk estin eti Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
21:2 Et ego Joannes vidi sanctam civitatem Jerusalem novam descendentem de cælo a Deo, paratam sicut sponsam ornatam viro suo. 21:2 kai egw iwannhj eidon thn polin thn agian ierousalhm kainhn katabainousan apo tou qeou ek tou ouranou htoimasmenhn wj numfhn kekosmhmenhn tw andri authj 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
21:3 Et audivi vocem magnam de throno dicentem: Ecce tabernaculum Dei cum hominibus, et habitabit cum eis. Et ipsi populus ejus erunt, et ipse Deus cum eis erit eorum Deus: 21:3 kai hkousa fwnhj megalhj ek tou ouranou legoushj idou h skhnh tou qeou meta twn anqrwpwn kai skhnwsei met autwn kai autoi laoi autou esontai kai autoj o qeoj estai met autwn qeoj autwn 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
21:4 et absterget Deus omnem lacrimam ab oculis eorum: et mors ultra non erit, neque luctus, neque clamor, neque dolor erit ultra, quia prima abierunt. 21:4 kai ecaleiyei o qeoj pan dakruon apo twn ofqalmwn autwn kai o qanatoj ouk estai eti oute penqoj oute kraugh oute ponoj ouk estai eti oti ta prwta aphlqon 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
21:5 Et dixit qui sedebat in throno: Ecce nova facio omnia. Et dixit mihi: Scribe, quia hæc verba fidelissima sunt, et vera. 21:5 kai eipen o kaqhmenoj epi tou qronou idou kaina panta poiw kai legei moi grayon oti outoi oi logoi alhqinoi kai pistoi eisin 21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
21:6 Et dixit mihi: Factum est: ego sum alpha et omega, initium et finis. Ego sitienti dabo de fonte aquæ vitæ, gratis. 21:6 kai eipen moi gegonen egw eimi to a kai to w h arxh kai to teloj egw tw diywnti dwsw ek thj phghj tou udatoj thj zwhj dwrean 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
21:7 Qui vicerit, possidebit hæc: et ero illi Deus, et ille erit mihi filius. 21:7 o nikwn klhronomhsei panta kai esomai autw qeoj kai autoj estai moi o uioj 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
21:8 Timidis autem, et incredulis, et execratis, et homicidis, et fornicatoribus, et veneficis, et idolatris, et omnibus mendacibus, pars illorum erit in stagno ardenti igne et sulphure: quod est mors secunda. 21:8 deiloij de kai apistoij kai ebdelugmenoij kai foneusin kai pornoij kai farmakeusin kai eidwlolatraij kai pasin toij yeudesin to meroj autwn en th limnh th kaiomenh puri kai qeiw o estin deuteroj qanatoj 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
21:9 Et venit unus de septem angelis habentibus phialas plenas septem plagis novissimis, et locutus est mecum, dicens: Veni, et ostendam tibi sponsam, uxorem Agni. 21:9 kai hlqen proj me eij twn epta aggelwn twn exontwn taj epta fialaj taj gemousaj twn epta plhgwn twn esxatwn kai elalhsen met emou legwn deuro deicw soi thn numfhn tou arniou thn gunaika 21:9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
Revelation 21:10 Et sustulit me in spiritu in montem magnum et altum, et ostendit mihi civitatem sanctam Jerusalem descendentem de cælo a Deo, Revelation 21:10 kai aphnegken me en pneumati ep oroj mega kai uyhlon kai edeicen moi thn polin thn megalhn thn agian ierousalhm katabainousan ek tou ouranou apo tou qeou Revelation 21:10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
21:11 habentem claritatem Dei: et lumen ejus simile lapidi pretioso tamquam lapidi jaspidis, sicut crystallum. 21:11 exousan thn docan tou qeou kai o fwsthr authj omoioj liqw timiwtatw wj liqw iaspidi krustallizonti 21:11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
21:12 Et habebat murum magnum, et altum, habentem portas duodecim: et in portis angelos duodecim, et nomina inscripta, quæ sunt nomina duodecim tribuum filiorum Israël: 21:12 exousan te teixoj mega kai uyhlon exousan pulwnaj dwdeka kai epi toij pulwsin aggelouj dwdeka kai onomata epigegrammena a estin twn dwdeka fulwn twn uiwn israhl 21:12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
21:13 ab oriente portæ tres, et ab aquilone portæ tres, et ab austro portæ tres, et ab occasu portæ tres. 21:13 ap anatolhj pulwnej treij apo borra pulwnej treij apo notou pulwnej treij kai apo dusmwn pulwnej treij 21:13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.
21:14 Et murus civitatis habens fundamenta duodecim, et in ipsis duodecim nomina duodecim apostolorum Agni. 21:14 kai to teixoj thj polewj exon qemeliouj dwdeka kai en autoij onomata twn dwdeka apostolwn tou arniou 21:14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
21:15 Et qui loquebatur mecum, habebat mensuram arundineam auream, ut metiretur civitatem, et portas ejus, et murum. 21:15 kai o lalwn met emou eixen kalamon xrusoun ina metrhsh thn polin kai touj pulwnaj authj kai to teixoj authj 21:15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
21:16 Et civitas in quadro posita est, et longitudo ejus tanta est quanta et latitudo: et mensus est civitatem de arundine aurea per stadia duodecim millia: et longitudo, et altitudo, et latitudo ejus æqualia sunt. 21:16 kai h polij tetragwnoj keitai kai to mhkoj authj tosouton estin oson kai to platoj kai emetrhsen thn polin tw kalamw epi stadiwn dwdeka xiliadwn to mhkoj kai to platoj kai to uyoj authj isa estin 21:16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.
21:17 Et mensus est murum ejus centum quadraginta quatuor cubitorum, mensura hominis, quæ est angeli. 21:17 kai emetrhsen to teixoj authj ekaton tessarakonta tessarwn phxwn metron anqrwpou o estin aggelou 21:17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.
21:18 Et erat structura muri ejus ex lapide jaspide: ipsa vero civitas aurum mundum simile vitro mundo. 21:18 kai hn h endomhsij tou teixouj authj iaspij kai h polij xrusion kaqaron omoia ualw kaqarw 21:18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
21:19 Et fundamenta muri civitatis omni lapide pretioso ornata. Fundamentum primum, jaspis: secundum, sapphirus: tertium, calcedonius: quartum, smaragdus: 21:19 kai oi qemelioi tou teixouj thj polewj panti liqw timiw kekosmhmenoi o qemelioj o prwtoj iaspij o deuteroj sapfeiroj o tritoj xalkhdwn o tetartoj smaragdoj 21:19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
Revelation 21:20 quintum, sardonyx: sextum, sardius: septimum, chrysolithus: octavum, beryllus: nonum, topazius: decimum, chrysoprasus: undecimum, hyacinthus: duodecimum, amethystus. Revelation 21:20 o pemptoj sardonuc o ektoj sardioj o ebdomoj xrusoliqoj o ogdooj bhrulloj o ennatoj topazion o dekatoj xrusoprasoj o endekatoj uakinqoj o dwdekatoj amequstoj Revelation 21:20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.
21:21 Et duodecim portæ, duodecim margaritæ sunt, per singulas: et singulæ portæ erant ex singulis margaritis: et platea civitatis aurum mundum, tamquam vitrum perlucidum. 21:21 kai oi dwdeka pulwnej dwdeka margaritai ana eij ekastoj twn pulwnwn hn ec enoj margaritou kai h plateia thj polewj xrusion kaqaron wj ualoj diafanhj 21:21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
21:22 Et templum non vidi in ea: Dominus enim Deus omnipotens templum illius est, et Agnus. 21:22 kai naon ouk eidon en auth o gar kurioj o qeoj o pantokratwr naoj authj estin kai to arnion 21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
21:23 Et civitas non eget sole neque luna ut luceant in ea, nam claritas Dei illuminavit eam, et lucerna ejus est Agnus. 21:23 kai h polij ou xreian exei tou hliou oude thj selhnhj ina fainwsin en auth h gar doca tou qeou efwtisen authn kai o luxnoj authj to arnion 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
21:24 Et ambulabunt gentes in lumine ejus: et reges terræ afferent gloriam suam et honorem in illam. 21:24 kai ta eqnh twn swzomenwn en tw fwti authj peripathsousin kai oi basileij thj ghj ferousin thn docan kai thn timhn autwn eij authn 21:24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
21:25 Et portæ ejus non claudentur per diem: nox enim non erit illic. 21:25 kai oi pulwnej authj ou mh kleisqwsin hmeraj nuc gar ouk estai ekei 21:25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
21:26 Et afferent gloriam et honorem gentium in illam. 21:26 kai oisousin thn docan kai thn timhn twn eqnwn eij authn 21:26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
21:27 Non intrabit in eam aliquod coinquinatum, aut abominationem faciens et mendacium, nisi qui scripti sunt in libro vitæ Agni. 21:27 kai ou mh eiselqh eij authn pan koinoun kai poioun bdelugma kai yeudoj ei mh oi gegrammenoi en tw bibliw thj zwhj tou arniou 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.
