1:17 Omnes itaque generationes ab Abraham usque ad David, generationes quatuordecim: et a David usque ad transmigrationem Babylonis, generationes quatuordecim: et a transmigratione Babylonis usque ad Christum, generationes quatuordecim. 1:17 pasai oun ai geneai apo abraam ewj dabid geneai dekatessarej kai apo dabid ewj thj metoikesiaj babulwnoj geneai dekatessarej kai apo thj metoikesiaj babulwnoj ewj tou xristou geneai dekatessarej 1:17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.
1:18 Christi autem generatio sic erat: cum esset desponsata mater ejus Maria Joseph, antequam convenirent inventa est in utero habens de Spiritu Sancto. 1:18 tou de ihsou xristou h gennhsij outwj hn mnhsteuqeishj gar thj mhtroj autou mariaj tw iwshf prin h sunelqein autouj eureqh en gastri exousa ek pneumatoj agiou 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

1:21 Pariet autem filium: et vocabis nomen ejus Jesum: ipse enim salvum faciet populum suum a peccatis eorum. 1:21 tecetai de uion kai kaleseij to onoma autou ihsoun autoj gar swsei ton laon autou apo twn amartiwn autwn 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
