Matthew 25:1 Tunc simile erit regnum cælorum decem virginibus: quæ accipientes lampades suas exierunt obviam sponso et sponsæ. Matthew 25:1 tote omoiwqhsetai h basileia twn ouranwn deka parqenoij aitinej labousai taj lampadaj autwn echlqon eij apanthsin tou numfiou Matthew 25:1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
25:2 Quinque autem ex eis erant fatuæ, et quinque prudentes: 25:2 pente de hsan ec autwn fronimoi kai ai pente mwrai 25:2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
25:3 sed quinque fatuæ, acceptis lampadibus, non sumpserunt oleum secum: 25:3 aitinej mwrai labousai taj lampadaj eautwn ouk elabon meq eautwn elaion 25:3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
25:4 prudentes vero acceperunt oleum in vasis suis cum lampadibus. 25:4 ai de fronimoi elabon elaion en toij aggeioij autwn meta twn lampadwn autwn 25:4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
25:5 Moram autem faciente sponso, dormitaverunt omnes et dormierunt. 25:5 xronizontoj de tou numfiou enustacan pasai kai ekaqeudon 25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
25:6 Media autem nocte clamor factus est: Ecce sponsus venit, exite obviam ei. 25:6 meshj de nuktoj kraugh gegonen idou o numfioj erxetai ecerxesqe eij apanthsin autou 25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
25:7 Tunc surrexerunt omnes virgines illæ, et ornaverunt lampades suas. 25:7 tote hgerqhsan pasai ai parqenoi ekeinai kai ekosmhsan taj lampadaj autwn 25:7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
25:8 Fatuæ autem sapientibus dixerunt: Date nobis de oleo vestro, quia lampades nostræ extinguuntur. 25:8 ai de mwrai taij fronimoij eipon dote hmin ek tou elaiou umwn oti ai lampadej hmwn sbennuntai 25:8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
25:9 Responderunt prudentes, dicentes: Ne forte non sufficiat nobis, et vobis, ite potius ad vendentes, et emite vobis. 25:9 apekriqhsan de ai fronimoi legousai mhpote ouk arkesh hmin kai umin poreuesqe de mallon proj touj pwlountaj kai agorasate eautaij 25:9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
Matthew 25:10 Dum autem irent emere, venit sponsus: et quæ paratæ erant, intraverunt cum eo ad nuptias, et clausa est janua. Matthew 25:10 aperxomenwn de autwn agorasai hlqen o numfioj kai ai etoimoi eishlqon met autou eij touj gamouj kai ekleisqh h qura Matthew 25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
25:11 Novissime vero veniunt et reliquæ virgines, dicentes: Domine, domine, aperi nobis. 25:11 usteron de erxontai kai ai loipai parqenoi legousai kurie kurie anoicon hmin 25:11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
25:12 At ille respondens, ait: Amen dico vobis, nescio vos. 25:12 o de apokriqeij eipen amhn legw umin ouk oida umaj 25:12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
25:13 Vigilate itaque, quia nescitis diem, neque horam. 25:13 grhgoreite oun oti ouk oidate thn hmeran oude thn wran en h o uioj tou anqrwpou erxetai 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
25:14 Sicut enim homo peregre proficiscens, vocavit servos suos, et tradidit illis bona sua. 25:14 wsper gar anqrwpoj apodhmwn ekalesen touj idiouj doulouj kai paredwken autoij ta uparxonta autou 25:14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
25:15 Et uni dedit quinque talenta, alii autem duo, alii vero unum, unicuique secundum propriam virtutem: et profectus est statim. 25:15 kai w men edwken pente talanta w de duo w de en ekastw kata thn idian dunamin kai apedhmhsen euqewj 25:15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.
25:16 Abiit autem qui quinque talenta acceperat, et operatus est in eis, et lucratus est alia quinque. 25:16 poreuqeij de o ta pente talanta labwn eirgasato en autoij kai epoihsen alla pente talanta 25:16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.
25:17 Similiter et qui duo acceperat, lucratus est alia duo. 25:17 wsautwj kai o ta duo ekerdhsen kai autoj alla duo 25:17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.
25:18 Qui autem unum acceperat, abiens fodit in terram, et abscondit pecuniam domini sui. 25:18 o de to en labwn apelqwn wrucen en th gh kai apekruyen to argurion tou kuriou autou 25:18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money.
25:19 Post multum vero temporis venit dominus servorum illorum, et posuit rationem cum eis. 25:19 meta de xronon polun erxetai o kurioj twn doulwn ekeinwn kai sunairei met autwn logon 25:19 After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.
Matthew 25:20 Et accedens qui quinque talenta acceperat, obtulit alia quinque talenta, dicens: Domine, quinque talenta tradidisti mihi, ecce alia quinque superlucratus sum. Matthew 25:20 kai proselqwn o ta pente talanta labwn proshnegken alla pente talanta legwn kurie pente talanta moi paredwkaj ide alla pente talanta ekerdhsa ep autoij Matthew 25:20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.
25:21 Ait illi dominus ejus: Euge serve bone, et fidelis: quia super pauca fuisti fidelis, super multa te constituam; intra in gaudium domini tui. 25:21 efh de autw o kurioj autou eu doule agaqe kai piste epi oliga hj pistoj epi pollwn se katasthsw eiselqe eij thn xaran tou kuriou sou 25:21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
25:22 Accessit autem et qui duo talenta acceperat, et ait: Domine, duo talenta tradidisti mihi, ecce alia duo lucratus sum. 25:22 proselqwn de kai o ta duo talanta labwn eipen kurie duo talanta moi paredwkaj ide alla duo talanta ekerdhsa ep autoij 25:22 He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.

25:24 Accedens autem et qui unum talentum acceperat, ait: Domine, scio quia homo durus es; metis ubi non seminasti, et congregas ubi non sparsisti: 25:24 proselqwn de kai o to en talanton eilhfwj eipen kurie egnwn se oti sklhroj ei anqrwpoj qerizwn opou ouk espeiraj kai sunagwn oqen ou dieskorpisaj 25:24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
25:25 et timens abii, et abscondi talentum tuum in terra: ecce habes quod tuum est. 25:25 kai fobhqeij apelqwn ekruya to talanton sou en th gh ide exeij to son 25:25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.
25:26 Respondens autem dominus ejus, dixit ei: Serve male, et piger, sciebas quia meto ubi non semino, et congrego ubi non sparsi: 25:26 apokriqeij de o kurioj autou eipen autw ponhre doule kai oknhre hdeij oti qerizw opou ouk espeira kai sunagw oqen ou dieskorpisa 25:26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:
25:27 oportuit ergo te committere pecuniam meam numulariis, et veniens ego recepissem utique quod meum est cum usura. 25:27 edei oun se balein to argurion mou toij trapezitaij kai elqwn egw ekomisamhn an to emon sun tokw 25:27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.
25:28 Tollite itaque ab eo talentum, et date ei qui habet decem talenta: 25:28 arate oun ap autou to talanton kai dote tw exonti ta deka talanta 25:28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
25:29 omni enim habenti dabitur, et abundabit: ei autem qui non habet, et quod videtur habere, auferetur ab eo. 25:29 tw gar exonti panti doqhsetai kai perisseuqhsetai apo de tou mh exontoj kai o exei arqhsetai ap autou 25:29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
Matthew 25:30 Et inutilem servum ejicite in tenebras exteriores: illic erit fletus, et stridor dentium. Matthew 25:30 kai ton axreion doulon ekballete eij to skotoj to ecwteron ekei estai o klauqmoj kai o brugmoj twn odontwn Matthew 25:30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
25:31 Cum autem venerit Filius hominis in majestate sua, et omnes angeli cum eo, tunc sedebit super sedem majestatis suæ: 25:31 otan de elqh o uioj tou anqrwpou en th doch autou kai pantej oi agioi aggeloi met autou tote kaqisei epi qronou dochj autou 25:31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
25:32 et congregabuntur ante eum omnes gentes, et separabit eos ab invicem, sicut pastor segregat oves ab hædis: 25:32 kai sunaxqhsetai emprosqen autou panta ta eqnh kai aforiei autouj ap allhlwn wsper o poimhn aforizei ta probata apo twn erifwn 25:32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
25:33 et statuet oves quidem a dextris suis, hædos autem a sinistris. 25:33 kai sthsei ta men probata ek deciwn autou ta de erifia ec euwnumwn 25:33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
25:34 Tunc dicet rex his qui a dextris ejus erunt: Venite benedicti Patris mei, possidete paratum vobis regnum a constitutione mundi: 25:34 tote erei o basileuj toij ek deciwn autou deute oi euloghmenoi tou patroj mou klhronomhsate thn htoimasmenhn umin basileian apo katabolhj kosmou 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
25:35 esurivi enim, et dedistis mihi manducare: sitivi, et dedistis mihi bibere: hospes eram, et collegistis me: 25:35 epeinasa gar kai edwkate moi fagein ediyhsa kai epotisate me cenoj hmhn kai sunhgagete me 25:35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
25:36 nudus, et cooperuistis me: infirmus, et visitastis me: in carcere eram, et venistis ad me. 25:36 gumnoj kai periebalete me hsqenhsa kai epeskeyasqe me en fulakh hmhn kai hlqete proj me 25:36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
25:37 Tunc respondebunt ei justi, dicentes: Domine, quando te vidimus esurientem, et pavimus te: sitientem, et dedimus tibi potum? 25:37 tote apokriqhsontai autw oi dikaioi legontej kurie pote se eidomen peinwnta kai eqreyamen h diywnta kai epotisamen 25:37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
25:38 quando autem te vidimus hospitem, et collegimus te: aut nudum, et cooperuimus te? 25:38 pote de se eidomen cenon kai sunhgagomen h gumnon kai periebalomen 25:38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
25:39 aut quando te vidimus infirmum, aut in carcere, et venimus ad te? 25:39 pote de se eidomen asqenh h en fulakh kai hlqomen proj se 25:39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
Matthew 25:40 Et respondens rex, dicet illis: Amen dico vobis, quamdiu fecistis uni ex his fratribus meis minimis, mihi fecistis. Matthew 25:40 kai apokriqeij o basileuj erei autoij amhn legw umin ef oson epoihsate eni toutwn twn adelfwn mou twn elaxistwn emoi epoihsate Matthew 25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
25:41 Tunc dicet et his qui a sinistris erunt: Discedite a me maledicti in ignem æternum, qui paratus est diabolo, et angelis ejus: 25:41 tote erei kai toij ec euwnumwn poreuesqe ap emou oi kathramenoi eij to pur to aiwnion to htoimasmenon tw diabolw kai toij aggeloij autou 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
25:42 esurivi enim, et non dedistis mihi manducare: sitivi, et non desistis mihi potum: 25:42 epeinasa gar kai ouk edwkate moi fagein ediyhsa kai ouk epotisate me 25:42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
25:43 hospes eram, et non collegistis me: nudus, et non cooperuistis me: infirmus, et in carcere, et non visitastis me. 25:43 cenoj hmhn kai ou sunhgagete me gumnoj kai ou periebalete me asqenhj kai en fulakh kai ouk epeskeyasqe me 25:43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
25:44 Tunc respondebunt ei et ipsi, dicentes: Domine, quando te vidimus esurientem, aut sitientem, aut hospitem, aut nudum, aut infirmum, aut in carcere, et non ministravimus tibi? 25:44 tote apokriqhsontai autw kai autoi legontej kurie pote se eidomen peinwnta h diywnta h cenon h gumnon h asqenh h en fulakh kai ou dihkonhsamen soi 25:44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
25:45 Tunc respondebit illis, dicens: Amen dico vobis: Quamdiu non fecistis uni de minoribus his, nec mihi fecistis. 25:45 tote apokriqhsetai autoij legwn amhn legw umin ef oson ouk epoihsate eni toutwn twn elaxistwn oude emoi epoihsate 25:45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
25:46 Et ibunt hi in supplicium æternum: justi autem in vitam æternam. 25:46 kai apeleusontai outoi eij kolasin aiwnion oi de dikaioi eij zwhn aiwnion 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
