Matthew 28:1 Vespere autem sabbati, quæ lucescit in prima sabbati, venit Maria Magdalene, et altera Maria, videre sepulchrum. Matthew 28:1 oye de sabbatwn th epifwskoush eij mian sabbatwn hlqen maria h magdalhnh kai h allh maria qewrhsai ton tafon Matthew 28:1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
28:2 Et ecce terræmotus factus est magnus. Angelus enim Domini descendit de cælo: et accedens revolvit lapidem, et sedebat super eum: 28:2 kai idou seismoj egeneto megaj aggeloj gar kuriou katabaj ec ouranou proselqwn apekulisen ton liqon apo thj quraj kai ekaqhto epanw autou 28:2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
28:3 erat autem aspectus ejus sicut fulgur: et vestimentum ejus sicut nix. 28:3 hn de h idea autou wj astraph kai to enduma autou leukon wsei xiwn 28:3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
28:4 Præ timore autem ejus exterriti sunt custodes, et facti sunt velut mortui. 28:4 apo de tou fobou autou eseisqhsan oi thrountej kai egenonto wsei nekroi 28:4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
28:5 Respondens autem angelus dixit mulieribus: Nolite timere vos: scio enim, quod Jesum, qui crucifixus est, quæritis. 28:5 apokriqeij de o aggeloj eipen taij gunaicin mh fobeisqe umeij oida gar oti ihsoun ton estaurwmenon zhteite 28:5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
28:6 Non est hic: surrexit enim, sicut dixit: venite, et videte locum ubi positus erat Dominus. 28:6 ouk estin wde hgerqh gar kaqwj eipen deute idete ton topon opou ekeito o kurioj 28:6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
28:7 Et cito euntes, dicite discipulis ejus quia surrexit: et ecce præcedit vos in Galilæam: ibi eum videbitis: ecce prædixi vobis. 28:7 kai taxu poreuqeisai eipate toij maqhtaij autou oti hgerqh apo twn nekrwn kai idou proagei umaj eij thn galilaian ekei auton oyesqe idou eipon umin 28:7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
28:8 Et exierunt cito de monumento cum timore et gaudio magno, currentes nuntiare discipulis ejus. 28:8 kai ecelqousai taxu apo tou mnhmeiou meta fobou kai xaraj megalhj edramon apaggeilai toij maqhtaij autou 28:8 And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.
28:9 Et ecce Jesus occurrit illis, dicens: Avete. Illæ autem accesserunt, et tenuerunt pedes ejus, et adoraverunt eum. 28:9 wj de eporeuonto apaggeilai toij maqhtaij autou kai idou o ihsouj aphnthsen autaij legwn xairete ai de proselqousai ekrathsan autou touj podaj kai prosekunhsan autw 28:9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
Matthew 28:10 Tunc ait illis Jesus: Nolite timere: ite, nuntiare fratribus meis ut eant in Galilæam; ibi me videbunt. Matthew 28:10 tote legei autaij o ihsouj mh fobeisqe upagete apaggeilate toij adelfoij mou ina apelqwsin eij thn galilaian kakei me oyontai Matthew 28:10 Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.
28:11 Quæ cum abiissent, ecce quidam de custodibus venerunt in civitatem, et nuntiaverunt principibus sacerdotum omnia quæ facta fuerant. 28:11 poreuomenwn de autwn idou tinej thj koustwdiaj elqontej eij thn polin aphggeilan toij arxiereusin apanta ta genomena 28:11 Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.
28:12 Et congregati cum senioribus consilio accepto, pecuniam copiosam dederunt militibus, 28:12 kai sunaxqentej meta twn presbuterwn sumboulion te labontej arguria ikana edwkan toij stratiwtaij 28:12 And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,
28:13 dicentes: Dicite quia discipuli ejus nocte venerunt, et furati sunt eum, nobis dormientibus. 28:13 legontej eipate oti oi maqhtai autou nuktoj elqontej ekleyan auton hmwn koimwmenwn 28:13 Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.
28:14 Et si hoc auditum fuerit a præside, nos suadebimus ei, et securos vos faciemus. 28:14 kai ean akousqh touto epi tou hgemonoj hmeij peisomen auton kai umaj amerimnouj poihsomen 28:14 And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.
28:15 At illi, accepta pecunia, fecerunt sicut erant edocti. Et divulgatum est verbum istud apud Judæos, usque in hodiernum diem. 28:15 oi de labontej ta arguria epoihsan wj edidaxqhsan kai diefhmisqh o logoj outoj para ioudaioij mexri thj shmeron 28:15 So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.
28:16 Undecim autem discipuli abierunt in Galilæam in montem ubi constituerat illis Jesus. 28:16 oi de endeka maqhtai eporeuqhsan eij thn galilaian eij to oroj ou etacato autoij o ihsouj 28:16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
28:17 Et videntes eum adoraverunt: quidam autem dubitaverunt. 28:17 kai idontej auton prosekunhsan autw oi de edistasan 28:17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
28:18 Et accedens Jesus locutus est eis, dicens: Data est mihi omnis potestas in cælo et in terra: 28:18 kai proselqwn o ihsouj elalhsen autoij legwn edoqh moi pasa ecousia en ouranw kai epi ghj 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
28:19 euntes ergo docete omnes gentes: baptizantes eos in nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti: 28:19 poreuqentej oun maqhteusate panta ta eqnh baptizontej autouj eij to onoma tou patroj kai tou uiou kai tou agiou pneumatoj 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Matthew 28:20 docentes eos servare omnia quæcumque mandavi vobis: et ecce ego vobiscum sum omnibus diebus, usque ad consummationem sæculi. Matthew 28:20 didaskontej autouj threin panta osa eneteilamhn umin kai idou egw meq umwn eimi pasaj taj hmeraj ewj thj sunteleiaj tou aiwnoj amhn Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
