MATTHEW CHAPTER 28

Latin VulgateGreek Textus ReceptusEnglish King James
Matthew 28:1 Vespere autem sabbati, quæ lucescit in prima sabbati, venit Maria Magdalene, et altera Maria, videre sepulchrum. Matthew 28:1 ὀψὲ δὲ σαββάτων τῇ ἐπιφωσκούσῃ εἰς μίαν σαββάτων ἦλθεν μαρία ἡ μαγδαληνὴ καὶ ἡ ἄλλη μαριὰ θεωρῆσαι τὸν τάφον Matthew 28:1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
28:2 Et ecce terræmotus factus est magnus. Angelus enim Domini descendit de cælo: et accedens revolvit lapidem, et sedebat super eum: 28:2 καὶ ἰδού σεισμὸς ἐγένετο μέγας ἄγγελος γὰρ κυρίου καταβὰς ἐξ οὐρανοῦ προσελθὼν ἀπεκύλισεν τὸν λίθον ἀπὸ τῆς θύρας καὶ ἐκάθητο ἐπάνω αὐτοῦ 28:2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
28:3 ἦν δὲ ἡ ἰδέα αὐτοῦ ὡς ἀστραπὴ καὶ τὸ ἔνδυμα αὐτοῦ λευκὸν ὡσεὶ χιών 28:3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
28:4 Præ timore autem ejus exterriti sunt custodes, et facti sunt velut mortui. 28:4 ἀπὸ δὲ τοῦ φόβου αὐτοῦ ἐσείσθησαν οἱ τηροῦντες καὶ ἐγένοντο ὡσεὶ νεκροί 28:4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
28:5 ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ ἄγγελος εἰπεν ταῖς γυναιξίν μὴ φοβεῖσθε ὑμεῖς οἶδα γὰρ ὅτι ἰησοῦν τὸν ἐσταυρωμένον ζητεῖτε 28:5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
28:6 οὐκ ἔστιν ὧδε ἠγέρθη γὰρ καθὼς εἶπεν δεῦτε ἴδετε τὸν τόπον ὅπου ἔκειτο ὁ κύριος 28:6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
28:7 Et cito euntes, dicite discipulis ejus quia surrexit: et ecce præcedit vos in Galilæam: ibi eum videbitis: ecce prædixi vobis. 28:7 καὶ ταχὺ πορευθεῖσαι εἴπατε τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ ὅτι ἠγέρθη ἀπὸ τῶν νεκρῶν καὶ ἰδού προάγει ὑμᾶς εἰς τὴν γαλιλαίαν ἐκεῖ αὐτὸν ὄψεσθε ἰδού εἶπον ὑμῖν 28:7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
28:8 καὶ ἐξελθοῦσαι ταχὺ ἀπὸ τοῦ μνημείου μετὰ φόβου καὶ χαρᾶς μεγάλης ἔδραμον ἀπαγγεῖλαι τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ 28:8 And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.
28:9 ὡς δὲ ἐπορεύοντο ἀπαγγεῖλαι τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἰδού ὁ ἰησοῦς ἀπήντησεν αὐταῖς λέγων χαίρετε αἱ δὲ προσελθοῦσαι ἐκράτησαν αὐτοῦ τοὺς πόδας καὶ προσεκύνησαν αὐτῷ 28:9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
Matthew 28:10 Tunc ait illis Jesus: Nolite timere: ite, nuntiare fratribus meis ut eant in Galilæam; ibi me videbunt. Matthew 28:10 τότε λέγει αὐταῖς ὁ ἰησοῦς μὴ φοβεῖσθε ὑπάγετε ἀπαγγείλατε τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς μου ἵνα ἀπέλθωσιν εἰς τὴν γαλιλαίαν κἀκεῖ με ὄψονται Matthew 28:10 Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.
28:11 πορευομένων δὲ αὐτῶν ἰδού τινες τῆς κουστωδίας ἐλθόντες εἰς τὴν πόλιν ἀπήγγειλαν τοῖς ἀρχιερεῦσιν ἅπαντα τὰ γενόμενα 28:11 Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.
28:12 Et congregati cum senioribus consilio accepto, pecuniam copiosam dederunt militibus, 28:12 καὶ συναχθέντες μετὰ τῶν πρεσβυτέρων συμβούλιόν τε λαβόντες ἀργύρια ἱκανὰ ἔδωκαν τοῖς στρατιώταις 28:12 And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,
28:13 λέγοντες εἴπατε ὅτι οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ νυκτὸς ἐλθόντες ἔκλεψαν αὐτὸν ἡμῶν κοιμωμένων 28:13 Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.
28:14 καὶ ἐὰν ἀκουσθῇ τοῦτο ἐπὶ τοῦ ἡγεμόνος ἡμεῖς πείσομεν αὐτὸν καὶ ὑμᾶς ἀμερίμνους ποιήσομεν 28:14 And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.
28:15 At illi, accepta pecunia, fecerunt sicut erant edocti. Et divulgatum est verbum istud apud Judæos, usque in hodiernum diem. 28:15 οἱ δὲ λαβόντες τὰ ἀργύρια ἐποίησαν ὡς ἐδιδάχθησαν καὶ διεφημίσθη ὁ λόγος οὗτος παρὰ ἰουδαίοις μέχρι τῆς σήμερον 28:15 So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.
28:16 Undecim autem discipuli abierunt in Galilæam in montem ubi constituerat illis Jesus. 28:16 οἱ δὲ ἕνδεκα μαθηταὶ ἐπορεύθησαν εἰς τὴν γαλιλαίαν εἰς τὸ ὄρος οὗ ἐτάξατο αὐτοῖς ὁ ἰησοῦς 28:16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
28:17 Et videntes eum adoraverunt: quidam autem dubitaverunt. 28:17 καὶ ἰδόντες αὐτὸν προσεκύνησαν αὐτῷ οἱ δὲ ἐδίστασαν 28:17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
28:18 Et accedens Jesus locutus est eis, dicens: Data est mihi omnis potestas in cælo et in terra: 28:18 καὶ προσελθὼν ὁ ἰησοῦς ἐλάλησεν αὐτοῖς λέγων ἐδόθη μοι πᾶσα ἐξουσία ἐν οὐρανῷ καὶ ἐπὶ γῆς 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
28:19 euntes ergo docete omnes gentes: baptizantes eos in nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti: 28:19 πορευθέντες οὖν μαθητεύσατε πάντα τὰ ἔθνη βαπτίζοντες αὐτοὺς εἰς τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ πατρὸς καὶ τοῦ υἱοῦ καὶ τοῦ ἁγίου πνεύματος 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Matthew 28:20 docentes eos servare omnia quæcumque mandavi vobis: et ecce ego vobiscum sum omnibus diebus, usque ad consummationem sæculi. Matthew 28:20 διδάσκοντες αὐτοὺς τηρεῖν πάντα ὅσα ἐνετειλάμην ὑμῖν καὶ ἰδού ἐγὼ μεθ᾽ ὑμῶν εἰμι πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας ἕως τῆς συντελείας τοῦ αἰῶνος ἀμήν Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
