Matthew 26:1 Et factum est: cum consummasset Jesus sermones hos omnes, dixit discipulis suis: Matthew 26:1 kai egeneto ote etelesen o ihsouj pantaj touj logouj toutouj eipen toij maqhtaij autou Matthew 26:1 And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples,
26:2 Scitis quia post biduum Pascha fiet, et Filius hominis tradetur ut crucifigatur. 26:2 oidate oti meta duo hmeraj to pasxa ginetai kai o uioj tou anqrwpou paradidotai eij to staurwqhnai 26:2 Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.
26:3 Tunc congregati sunt principes sacerdotum, et seniores populi, in atrium principis sacerdotum, qui dicebatur Caiphas: 26:3 tote sunhxqhsan oi arxiereij kai oi grammateij kai oi presbuteroi tou laou eij thn aulhn tou arxierewj tou legomenou kaiafa 26:3 Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,

26:6 Cum autem Jesus esset in Bethania in domo Simonis leprosi, 26:6 tou de ihsou genomenou en bhqania en oikia simwnoj tou leprou 26:6 Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
26:7 accessit ad eum mulier habens alabastrum unguenti pretiosi, et effudit super caput ipsius recumbentis. 26:7 proshlqen autw gunh alabastron murou exousa barutimou kai katexeen epi thn kefalhn autou anakeimenou 26:7 There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.
26:8 Videntes autem discipuli, indignati sunt, dicentes: Ut quid perditio hæc? 26:8 idontej de oi maqhtai autou hganakthsan legontej eij ti h apwleia auth 26:8 But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?
26:9 potuit enim istud venundari multo, et dari pauperibus. 26:9 hdunato gar touto to muron praqhnai pollou kai doqhnai ptwxoij 26:9 For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.
Matthew 26:10 Sciens autem Jesus, ait illis: Quid molesti estis huic mulieri? opus enim bonum operata est in me. 26:14 Tunc abiit unus de duodecim, qui dicebatur Judas Iscariotes, ad principes sacerdotum: 26:14 tote poreuqeij eij twn dwdeka o legomenoj ioudaj iskariwthj proj touj arxiereij 26:14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,
26:15 et ait illis: Quid vultis mihi dare, et ego vobis eum tradam? At illi constituerunt ei triginta argenteos. 26:15 eipen ti qelete moi dounai kagw umin paradwsw auton oi de esthsan autw triakonta arguria 26:15 And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.
26:16 Et exinde quærebat opportunitatem ut eum traderet. 26:16 kai apo tote ezhtei eukairian ina auton paradw 26:16 And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.
26:17 Prima autem die azymorum accesserunt discipuli ad Jesum, dicentes: Ubi vis paremus tibi comedere Pascha? 26:17 th de prwth twn azumwn proshlqon oi maqhtai tw ihsou legontej autw pou qeleij etoimaswmen soi fagein to pasxa 26:17 Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?
26:18 At Jesus dixit: Ite in civitatem ad quemdam, et dicite ei: Magister dicit: Tempus meum prope est, apud te facio Pascha cum discipulis meis. 26:18 o de eipen upagete eij thn polin proj ton deina kai eipate autw o didaskaloj legei o kairoj mou egguj estin proj se poiw to pasxa meta twn maqhtwn mou 26:18 And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.
26:19 Et fecerunt discipuli sicut constituit illis Jesus, et paraverunt Pascha. 26:19 kai epoihsan oi maqhtai wj sunetacen autoij o ihsouj kai htoimasan to pasxa 26:19 And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.
Matthew 26:20 Vespere autem facto, discumbebat cum duodecim discipulis suis. Matthew 26:20 oyiaj de genomenhj anekeito meta twn dwdeka Matthew 26:20 Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve.
26:21 Et edentibus illis, dixit: Amen dico vobis, quia unus vestrum me traditurus est. 26:21 kai esqiontwn autwn eipen amhn legw umin oti eij ec umwn paradwsei me 26:21 And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
26:22 Et contristati valde, cœperunt singuli dicere: Numquid ego sum Domine? 26:22 kai lupoumenoi sfodra hrcanto legein autw ekastoj autwn mhti egw eimi kurie 26:22 And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?
26:23 At ipse respondens, ait: Qui intingit mecum manum in paropside, hic me tradet. 26:23 o de apokriqeij eipen o embayaj met emou en tw trubliw thn xeira outoj me paradwsei 26:23 And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.
26:24 Filius quidem hominis vadit, sicut scriptum est de illo: væ autem homini illi, per quem Filius hominis tradetur! bonum erat ei, si natus non fuisset homo ille. 26:24 o men uioj tou anqrwpou upagei kaqwj gegraptai peri autou ouai de tw anqrwpw ekeinw di ou o uioj tou anqrwpou paradidotai kalon hn autw ei ouk egennhqh o anqrwpoj ekeinoj 26:24 The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.
26:25 Respondens autem Judas, qui tradidit eum, dixit: Numquid ego sum Rabbi? Ait illi: Tu dixisti. 26:25 apokriqeij de ioudaj o paradidouj auton eipen mhti egw eimi rabbi legei autw su eipaj 26:25 Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.
26:26 Cœnantibus autem eis, accepit Jesus panem, et benedixit, ac fregit, deditque discipulis suis, et ait: Accipite, et comedite: hoc est corpus meum. 26:26 esqiontwn de autwn labwn o ihsouj ton arton kai euloghsaj eklasen kai edidou toij maqhtaij kai eipen labete fagete touto estin to swma mou 26:26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
26:27 Et accipiens calicem, gratias egit: et dedit illis, dicens: Bibite ex hoc omnes. 26:27 kai labwn to pothrion kai euxaristhsaj edwken autoij legwn piete ec autou pantej 26:27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
26:28 Hic est enim sanguis meus novi testamenti, qui pro multis effundetur in remissionem peccatorum. 26:28 touto gar estin to aima mou to thj kainhj diaqhkhj to peri pollwn ekxunomenon eij afesin amartiwn 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Matthew 26:30 Et hymno dicto, exierunt in montem Oliveti. Matthew 26:30 kai umnhsantej echlqon eij to oroj twn elaiwn Matthew 26:30 And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.
26:31 Tunc dicit illis Jesus: Omnes vos scandalum patiemini in me in ista nocte. Scriptum est enim: Percutiam pastorem, et dispergentur oves gregis. 26:31 tote legei autoij o ihsouj pantej umeij skandalisqhsesqe en emoi en th nukti tauth gegraptai gar patacw ton poimena kai diaskorpisqhsetai ta probata thj poimnhj 26:31 Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.
26:32 Postquam autem resurrexero, præcedam vos in Galilæam. 26:32 meta de to egerqhnai me proacw umaj eij thn galilaian 26:32 But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.
26:33 Respondens autem Petrus, ait illi: Et si omnes scandalizati fuerint in te, ego numquam scandalizabor. 26:33 apokriqeij de o petroj eipen autw ei kai pantej skandalisqhsontai en soi egw oudepote skandalisqhsomai 26:33 Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended.
26:34 Ait illi Jesus: Amen dico tibi, quia in hac nocte, antequam gallus cantet, ter me negabis. 26:34 efh autw o ihsouj amhn legw soi oti en tauth th nukti prin alektora fwnhsai trij aparnhsh me 26:34 Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.
26:35 Ait illi Petrus: Etiamsi oportuerit me mori tecum, non te negabo. Similiter et omnes discipuli dixerunt. 26:35 legei autw o petroj kan deh me sun soi apoqanein ou mh se aparnhsomai omoiwj kai pantej oi maqhtai eipon 26:35 Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.
26:36 Tunc venit Jesus cum illis in villam, quæ dicitur Gethsemani, et dixit discipulis suis: Sedete hic donec vadam illuc, et orem. 26:36 tote erxetai met autwn o ihsouj eij xwrion legomenon geqshmanh kai legei toij maqhtaij kaqisate autou ewj ou apelqwn proseucwmai ekei 26:36 Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.
26:37 Et assumpto Petro, et duobus filiis Zebedæi, cœpit contristari et mœstus esse. 26:37 kai paralabwn ton petron kai touj duo uiouj zebedaiou hrcato lupeisqai kai adhmonein 26:37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.
26:38 Tunc ait illis: Tristis est anima mea usque ad mortem: sustinete hic, et vigilate mecum. 26:38 tote legei autoij perilupoj estin h yuxh mou ewj qanatou meinate wde kai grhgoreite met emou 26:38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
26:39 Et progressus pusillum, procidit in faciem suam, orans, et dicens: Pater mi, si possibile est, transeat a me calix iste: verumtamen non sicut ego volo, sed sicut tu. 26:39 kai proelqwn mikron epesen epi proswpon autou proseuxomenoj kai legwn pater mou ei dunaton estin parelqetw ap emou to pothrion touto plhn oux wj egw qelw all wj su 26:39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
Matthew 26:40 Et venit ad discipulos suos, et invenit eos dormientes, et dicit Petro: Sic non potuistis una hora vigilare mecum? Matthew 26:40 kai erxetai proj touj maqhtaj kai euriskei autouj kaqeudontaj kai legei tw petrw outwj ouk isxusate mian wran grhgorhsai met emou Matthew 26:40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?
26:41 Vigilate, et orate ut non intretis in tentationem. Spiritus quidem promptus est, caro autem infirma. 26:41 grhgoreite kai proseuxesqe ina mh eiselqhte eij peirasmon to men pneuma proqumon h de sarc asqenhj 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
26:42 Iterum secundo abiit, et oravit, dicens: Pater mi, si non potest hic calix transire nisi bibam illum, fiat voluntas tua. 26:42 palin ek deuterou apelqwn proshucato legwn pater mou ei ou dunatai touto to pothrion parelqein ap emou ean mh auto piw genhqhtw to qelhma sou 26:42 He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.
26:43 Et venit iterum, et invenit eos dormientes: erant enim oculi eorum gravati. 26:43 kai elqwn euriskei autouj palin kaqeudontaj hsan gar autwn oi ofqalmoi bebarhmenoi 26:43 And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.
26:44 Et relictis illis, iterum abiit, et oravit tertio, eumdem sermonem dicens. 26:44 kai afeij autouj apelqwn palin proshucato ek tritou ton auton logon eipwn 26:44 And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.
26:45 Tunc venit ad discipulos suos, et dicit illis: Dormite jam, et requiescite: ecce appropinquavit hora, et Filius hominis tradetur in manus peccatorum. 26:45 tote erxetai proj touj maqhtaj autou kai legei autoij kaqeudete to loipon kai anapauesqe idou hggiken h wra kai o uioj tou anqrwpou paradidotai eij xeiraj amartwlwn 26:45 Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
26:46 Surgite, eamus: ecce appropinquavit qui me tradet. 26:46 egeiresqe agwmen idou hggiken o paradidouj me 26:46 Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.
26:47 Adhuc eo loquente, ecce Judas unus de duodecim venit, et cum eo turba multa cum gladiis et fustibus, missi a principibus sacerdotum, et senioribus populi. 26:47 kai eti autou lalountoj idou ioudaj eij twn dwdeka hlqen kai met autou oxloj poluj meta maxairwn kai culwn apo twn arxierewn kai presbuterwn tou laou 26:47 And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.
26:48 Qui autem tradidit eum, dedit illis signum, dicens: Quemcumque osculatus fuero, ipse est, tenete eum. 26:48 o de paradidouj auton edwken autoij shmeion legwn on an filhsw autoj estin krathsate auton 26:48 Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.
26:49 Et confestim accedens ad Jesum, dixit: Ave Rabbi. Et osculatus est eum. 26:49 kai euqewj proselqwn tw ihsou eipen xaire rabbi kai katefilhsen auton 26:49 And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.
Matthew 26:50 Dixitque illi Jesus: Amice, ad quid venisti? Tunc accesserunt, et manus injecerunt in Jesum, et tenuerunt eum. Matthew 26:50 o de ihsouj eipen autw etaire ef w parei tote proselqontej epebalon taj xeiraj epi ton ihsoun kai ekrathsan auton Matthew 26:50 And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.
26:51 Et ecce unus ex his qui erant cum Jesu, extendens manum, exemit gladium suum, et percutiens servum principis sacerdotum amputavit auriculam ejus. 26:51 kai idou eij twn meta ihsou ekteinaj thn xeira apespasen thn maxairan autou kai patacaj ton doulon tou arxierewj afeilen autou to wtion 26:51 And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear.
26:52 Tunc ait illi Jesus: Converte gladium tuum in locum suum: omnes enim, qui acceperint gladium, gladio peribunt. 26:52 tote legei autw o ihsouj apostreyon sou thn maxairan eij ton topon authj pantej gar oi labontej maxairan en maxaira apolountai 26:52 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
26:53 An putas, quia non possum rogare patrem meum, et exhibebit mihi modo plusquam duodecim legiones angelorum? 26:53 h dokeij oti ou dunamai arti parakalesai ton patera mou kai parasthsei moi pleiouj h dwdeka legewnaj aggelwn 26:53 Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
26:54 Quomodo ergo implebuntur Scripturæ, quia sic oportet fieri? 26:54 pwj oun plhrwqwsin ai grafai oti outwj dei genesqai 26:54 But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?
26:55 In illa hora dixit Jesus turbis: Tamquam ad latronem existis cum gladiis et fustibus comprehendere me: quotidie apud vos sedebam docens in templo, et non me tenuistis. 26:55 en ekeinh th wra eipen o ihsouj toij oxloij wj epi lhsthn echlqete meta maxairwn kai culwn sullabein me kaq hmeran proj umaj ekaqezomhn didaskwn en tw ierw kai ouk ekrathsate me 26:55 In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.
26:56 Hoc autem totum factum est, ut adimplerentur Scripturæ prophetarum. Tunc discipuli omnes, relicto eo, fugerunt. 26:56 touto de olon gegonen ina plhrwqwsin ai grafai twn profhtwn tote oi maqhtai pantej afentej auton efugon 26:56 But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.
26:57 At illi tenentes Jesum, duxerunt ad Caipham principem sacerdotum, ubi scribæ et seniores convenerant. 26:57 oi de krathsantej ton ihsoun aphgagon proj kaiafan ton arxierea opou oi grammateij kai oi presbuteroi sunhxqhsan 26:57 And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.
26:58 Petrus autem sequebatur eum a longe, usque in atrium principis sacerdotum. Et ingressus intro, sedebat cum ministris, ut videret finem. 26:58 o de petroj hkolouqei autw apo makroqen ewj thj aulhj tou arxierewj kai eiselqwn esw ekaqhto meta twn uphretwn idein to teloj 26:58 But Peter followed him afar off unto the high priest's palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end.
26:59 Principes autem sacerdotum, et omne concilium, quærebant falsum testimonium contra Jesum, ut eum morti traderent: 26:59 oi de arxiereij kai oi presbuteroi kai to sunedrion olon ezhtoun yeudomarturian kata tou ihsou opwj auton qanatwswsin 26:59 Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;
Matthew 26:60 et non invenerunt, cum multi falsi testes accessissent. Novissime autem venerunt duo falsi testes, Matthew 26:60 kai oux euron kai pollwn yeudomarturwn proselqontwn oux euron usteron de proselqontej duo yeudomarturej Matthew 26:60 But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses,
26:61 et dixerunt: Hic dixit: Possum destruere templum Dei, et post triduum reædificare illud. 26:61 eipon outoj efh dunamai katalusai ton naon tou qeou kai dia triwn hmerwn oikodomhsai auton 26:61 And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.
26:62 Et surgens princeps sacerdotum, ait illi: Nihil respondes ad ea, quæ isti adversum te testificantur? 26:62 kai anastaj o arxiereuj eipen autw ouden apokrinh ti outoi sou katamarturousin 26:62 And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?
26:63 Jesus autem tacebat. Et princeps sacerdotum ait illi: Adjuro te per Deum vivum, ut dicas nobis si tu es Christus Filius Dei. 26:63 o de ihsouj esiwpa kai apokriqeij o arxiereuj eipen autw ecorkizw se kata tou qeou tou zwntoj ina hmin eiphj ei su ei o xristoj o uioj tou qeou 26:63 But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.
26:64 Dicit illi Jesus: Tu dixisti. Verumtamen dico vobis, amodo videbitis Filium hominis sedentem a dextris virtutis Dei, et venientem in nubibus cæli. 26:64 legei autw o ihsouj su eipaj plhn legw umin ap arti oyesqe ton uion tou anqrwpou kaqhmenon ek deciwn thj dunamewj kai erxomenon epi twn nefelwn tou ouranou 26:64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
26:65 Tunc princeps sacerdotum scidit vestimenta sua, dicens: Blasphemavit: quid adhuc egemus testibus? ecce nunc audistis blasphemiam: 26:65 tote o arxiereuj dierrhcen ta imatia autou legwn oti eblasfhmhsen ti eti xreian exomen marturwn ide nun hkousate thn blasfhmian autou 26:65 Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.

26:75 Et recordatus est Petrus verbi Jesu, quod dixerat: Priusquam gallus cantet, ter me negabis.
