Matthew 10:1 Et convocatis duodecim discipulis suis, dedit illis potestatem spirituum immundorum, ut ejicerent eos, et curarent omnem languorem, et omnem infirmitatem. Matthew 10:1 kai proskalesamenoj touj dwdeka maqhtaj autou edwken autoij ecousian pneumatwn akaqartwn wste ekballein auta kai qerapeuein pasan noson kai pasan malakian Matthew 10:1 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.
10:2 Duodecim autem Apostolorum nomina sunt hæc. Primus, Simon, qui dicitur Petrus: et Andreas frater ejus, Jacobus Zebedæi, et Joannes frater ejus, 10:2 twn de dwdeka apostolwn ta onomata estin tauta prwtoj simwn o legomenoj petroj kai andreaj o adelfoj autou iakwboj o tou zebedaiou kai iwannhj o adelfoj autou 10:2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;
10:3 Philippus, et Bartholomæus, Thomas, et Matthæus publicanus, Jacobus Alphæi, et Thaddæus, 10:3 filippoj kai barqolomaioj qwmaj kai matqaioj o telwnhj iakwboj o tou alfaiou kai lebbaioj o epiklhqeij qaddaioj 10:3 Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus;
10:4 Simon Chananæus, et Judas Iscariotes, qui et tradidit eum. 10:4 simwn o kananithj kai ioudaj iskariwthj o kai paradouj auton 10:4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
10:5 Hos duodecim misit Jesus, præcipiens eis, dicens: In viam gentium ne abieritis, et in civitates Samaritanorum ne intraveritis: 10:5 toutouj touj dwdeka apesteilen o ihsouj paraggeilaj autoij legwn eij odon eqnwn mh apelqhte kai eij polin samareitwn mh eiselqhte 10:5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:

10:7 Euntes autem prædicate, dicentes: Quia appropinquavit regnum cælorum. 10:7 poreuomenoi de khrussete legontej oti hggiken h basileia twn ouranwn 10:7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
10:8 Infirmos curate, mortuos suscitate, leprosos mundate, dæmones ejicite: gratis accepistis, gratis date. 10:8 asqenountaj qerapeuete leprouj kaqarizete nekrouj egeirete daimonia ekballete dwrean elabete dwrean dote 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
10:9 Nolite possidere aurum, neque argentum, neque pecuniam in zonis vestris: 10:9 mh kthshsqe xruson mhde arguron mhde xalkon eij taj zwnaj umwn 10:9 Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,
Matthew 10:10 non peram in via, neque duas tunicas, neque calceamenta, neque virgam: dignus enim est operarius cibo suo. Matthew 10:10 mh phran eij odon mhde duo xitwnaj mhde upodhmata mhde rabdouj acioj gar o ergathj thj trofhj autou estin Matthew 10:10 Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.
10:11 In quamcumque autem civitatem aut castellum intraveritis, interrogate, quis in ea dignus sit: et ibi manete donec exeatis. 10:11 eij hn d an polin h kwmhn eiselqhte ecetasate tij en auth acioj estin kakei meinate ewj an ecelqhte 10:11 And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.
10:12 Intrantes autem in domum, salutate eam, dicentes: Pax huic domui. 10:12 eiserxomenoi de eij thn oikian aspasasqe authn 10:12 And when ye come into an house, salute it.
10:13 Et siquidem fuerit domus illa digna, veniet pax vestra super eam: si autem non fuerit digna, pax vestra revertetur ad vos. 10:13 kai ean men h h oikia acia elqetw h eirhnh umwn ep authn ean de mh h acia h eirhnh umwn proj umaj epistrafhtw 10:13 And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.
10:14 Et quicumque non receperit vos, neque audierit sermones vestros: exeunte foras de domo, vel civitate, excutite pulverem de pedibus vestris. 10:14 kai oj ean mh dechtai umaj mhde akoush touj logouj umwn ecerxomenoi thj oikiaj h thj polewj ekeinhj ektinacate ton koniorton twn podwn umwn 10:14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
10:15 Amen dico vobis: Tolerabilius erit terræ Sodomorum et Gomorrhæorum in die judicii, quam illi civitati. 10:15 amhn legw umin anektoteron estai gh sodomwn kai gomorrwn en hmera krisewj h th polei ekeinh 10:15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
10:16 Ecce ego mitto vos sicut oves in medio luporum. Estote ergo prudentes sicut serpentes, et simplices sicut columbæ. 10:16 idou egw apostellw umaj wj probata en mesw lukwn ginesqe oun fronimoi wj oi ofeij kai akeraioi wj ai peristerai 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
10:17 Cavete autem ab hominibus. Tradent enim vos in conciliis, et in synagogis suis flagellabunt vos: 10:17 prosexete de apo twn anqrwpwn paradwsousin gar umaj eij sunedria kai en taij sunagwgaij autwn mastigwsousin umaj 10:17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;
10:18 et ad præsides, et ad reges ducemini propter me in testimonium illis, et gentibus. 10:18 kai epi hgemonaj de kai basileij axqhsesqe eneken emou eij marturion autoij kai toij eqnesin 10:18 And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.
10:19 Cum autem tradent vos, nolite cogitare quomodo, aut quid loquamini: dabitur enim vobis in illa hora, quid loquamini: 10:19 otan de paradidwsin umaj mh merimnhshte pwj h ti lalhshte doqhsetai gar umin en ekeinh th wra ti lalhsete 10:19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.
Matthew 10:20 non enim vos estis qui loquimini, sed Spiritus Patris vestri, qui loquitur in vobis. Matthew 10:20 ou gar umeij este oi lalountej alla to pneuma tou patroj umwn to laloun en umin Matthew 10:20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.
10:21 Tradet autem frater fratrem in mortem, et pater filium: et insurgent filii in parentes, et morte eos afficient: 10:21 paradwsei de adelfoj adelfon eij qanaton kai pathr teknon kai epanasthsontai tekna epi goneij kai qanatwsousin autouj 10:21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.
10:22 et eritis odio omnibus propter nomen meum: qui autem perseveraverit usque in finem, hic salvus erit. 10:22 kai esesqe misoumenoi upo pantwn dia to onoma mou o de upomeinaj eij teloj outoj swqhsetai 10:22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
10:23 Cum autem persequentur vos in civitate ista, fugite in aliam. Amen dico vobis, non consummabitis civitates Israël, donec veniat Filius hominis. 10:23 otan de diwkwsin umaj en th polei tauth feugete eij thn allhn amhn gar legw umin ou mh teleshte taj poleij tou israhl ewj an elqh o uioj tou anqrwpou 10:23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.
10:24 Non est discipulus super magistrum, nec servus super dominum suum: 10:24 ouk estin maqhthj uper ton didaskalon oude douloj uper ton kurion autou 10:24 The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.
10:25 sufficit discipulo ut sit sicut magister ejus, et servo, sicut dominus ejus. Si patremfamilias Beelzebub vocaverunt, quanto magis domesticos ejus? 10:25 arketon tw maqhth ina genhtai wj o didaskaloj autou kai o douloj wj o kurioj autou ei ton oikodespothn beelzeboub ekalesan posw mallon touj oikiakouj autou 10:25 It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?
10:26 Ne ergo timueritis eos. Nihil enim est opertum, quod non revelabitur: et occultum, quod non scietur. 10:26 mh oun fobhqhte autouj ouden gar estin kekalummenon o ouk apokalufqhsetai kai krupton o ou gnwsqhsetai 10:26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
10:27 Quod dico vobis in tenebris, dicite in lumine: et quod in aure auditis, prædicate super tecta. 10:27 o legw umin en th skotia eipate en tw fwti kai o eij to ouj akouete khrucate epi twn dwmatwn 10:27 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.
10:28 Et nolite timere eos qui occidunt corpus, animam autem non possunt occidere: sed potius timete eum, qui potest et animam et corpus perdere in gehennam. 10:28 kai mh fobhqhte apo twn apokteinontwn to swma thn de yuxhn mh dunamenwn apokteinai fobhqhte de mallon ton dunamenon kai yuxhn kai swma apolesai en geennh 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
10:29 Nonne duo passeres asse veneunt? et unus ex illis non cadet super terram sine Patre vestro. 10:29 ouxi duo strouqia assariou pwleitai kai en ec autwn ou peseitai epi thn ghn aneu tou patroj umwn 10:29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.
Matthew 10:30 Vestri autem capilli capitis omnes numerati sunt. Matthew 10:30 umwn de kai ai trixej thj kefalhj pasai hriqmhmenai eisin Matthew 10:30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
10:31 Nolite ergo timere: multis passeribus meliores estis vos. 10:31 mh oun fobhqhte pollwn strouqiwn diaferete umeij 10:31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.
10:32 Omnis ergo qui confitebitur me coram hominibus, confitebor et ego eum coram Patre meo, qui in cælis est. 10:32 paj oun ostij omologhsei en emoi emprosqen twn anqrwpwn omologhsw kagw en autw emprosqen tou patroj mou tou en ouranoij 10:32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
10:33 Qui autem negaverit me coram hominibus, negabo et ego eum coram Patre meo, qui in cælis est. 10:33 ostij d an arnhshtai me emprosqen twn anqrwpwn arnhsomai auton kagw emprosqen tou patroj mou tou en ouranoij 10:33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
10:34 Nolite arbitrari quia pacem venerim mittere in terram: non veni pacem mittere, sed gladium: 10:34 mh nomishte oti hlqon balein eirhnhn epi thn ghn ouk hlqon balein eirhnhn alla maxairan 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
10:35 veni enim separare hominem adversus patrem suum, et filiam adversus matrem suam, et nurum adversus socrum suam: 10:35 hlqon gar dixasai anqrwpon kata tou patroj autou kai qugatera kata thj mhtroj authj kai numfhn kata thj penqeraj authj 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
10:36 et inimici hominis, domestici ejus. 10:36 kai exqroi tou anqrwpou oi oikiakoi autou 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
10:37 Qui aMatthew patrem aut matrem plus quam me, non est me dignus: et qui aMatthew filium aut filiam super me, non est me dignus. 10:37 o filwn patera h mhtera uper eme ouk estin mou acioj kai o filwn uion h qugatera uper eme ouk estin mou acioj 10:37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
10:38 Et qui non accipit crucem suam, et sequitur me, non est me dignus. 10:38 kai oj ou lambanei ton stauron autou kai akolouqei opisw mou ouk estin mou acioj 10:38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
10:39 Qui invenit animam suam, perdet illam: et qui perdiderit animam suam propter me, inveniet eam. 10:39 o eurwn thn yuxhn autou apolesei authn kai o apolesaj thn yuxhn autou eneken emou eurhsei authn 10:39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
Matthew 10:40 Qui recipit vos, me recipit: et qui me recipit, recipit eum qui me misit. Matthew 10:40 o dexomenoj umaj eme dexetai kai o eme dexomenoj dexetai ton aposteilanta me Matthew 10:40 He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
10:41 Qui recipit prophetam in nomine prophetæ, mercedem prophetæ accipiet: et qui recipit justum in nomine justi, mercedem justi accipiet. 10:41 o dexomenoj profhthn eij onoma profhtou misqon profhtou lhyetai kai o dexomenoj dikaion eij onoma dikaiou misqon dikaiou lhyetai 10:41 He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.
10:42 Et quicumque potum dederit uni ex minimis istis calicem aquæ frigidæ tantum in nomine discipuli: amen dico vobis, non perdet mercedem suam. 10:42 kai oj ean potish ena twn mikrwn toutwn pothrion yuxrou monon eij onoma maqhtou amhn legw umin ou mh apolesh ton misqon autou 10:42 And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.
